Breakfast 3/5 stars Stopped by to give their breakfast sandwich a shot. Ordered a bacon, egg and cheese and a breakfast at burrito. The sandwich comes on a hard roll that was actually soft and tasty. The sandwich was mostly bread, though. The burrito was warm and had egg, salsa, cheese and sour cream. It did the job and was hefty. IWe tried the house made roast beef and that was juicy and fresh! The deviled eggs were fresh and had a mild mustard flavor. They carry a full deli case of boars head meats and cold salads. I would come back and give their pizzas and sandwiches a shot, but for now, I was underwhelmed by the breakfast and would likely visit another local cafe or restaurant in the future. I'll add that the staff was very friendly and that weighs in on my over all impression. They also had a few places to sit outside if you came for lunch or on a warm morning. read more

Gosh, what to even say. My wife and I chose Stone Pony to cater and host our 100 person Oct 2020 wedding because my mother-in-law is the heart of their catering staff. She was so excited to make our wedding special by preparing her recipes for our menu. So we sat down for a consultation with John in Feb 2020 and booked the date. He treated us like family, even gave us the "don't tell anyone about this" discount. But by May we knew we would need to push our date with many of my family living outside the area, and we communicated this to John. We asked not to set another date until we knew more about how to do it safely. We did not ask for our deposit back, figured it was better in his hands so we could get first pick of dates once able. Plus, we have a family connection. Multiple times throughout the last year it seemed like we may be able to set a date, Covid was subsiding. But of course each time we were almost ready to set a date a new wave would pop up. It became so frustrating that in Sept 2021 we finally threw in the towel, it just wasn't possible to have the event we wanted. This was in no ones control. When I expressed this to John last week I asked that we get our deposit back as we had no date held and hadn't kept him from doing any business. He began by telling me that we had come to him months before because we were strapped for cash. None of which was true and he provided no proof, receipt, or record of this. But apparently he does actually do cash deposit refunds, even though he'll deny it. Once his lie was corrected, I tried to express to him the gravity of our situation and that I would never ask for this money back if it weren't absolutely necessary for us to live. We still wanted to do our event at some point even if it wasn't everything what we wanted. He offered us our deposit as credit that was usable for 8 months. Basically a deadline to make use of our money with him. After multiple one-line, copy and pasted responses, he offered to put a gift card with no expiration in the mail for us. How nice! Everything I had shared with him about our current circumstance meant nothing. He was keeping our $500 as though he earned it, and only offered credit and gift cards because he already spent it without even a date on the books. Our initial meeting was less than an hour. So much for family. If you've gotten this far, keep going. You'll find great experiences all surrounding their catered food, as Kathy goes above and beyond to prepare fresh and delicious food for Johns customers. I strongly suggest hiring her to cater your production or job site, separately. It truly is a shame that for the family of an employee of about 10 years, this is the result. Missed this place, returned after 10+ year hiatus. Remember always loved their fresh sandwiches and unforgettable chicken Marsala. Locally owned and super friendly staff. I reacquainted with a signature sandwich and added a pizza, didn't offer pizza previously. I absolutely love this place and the addition of crispy crusted pizza was excellent. You would never think it if you were just driving by, but Stone Pony's Catering is INCREDIBLE! They literally saved our production. We had to find someone local for a location shoot and we came across their catering menu. John was not only super accommodating, but the food was delicious. Lots of options for all the dietary issues we had and individually packaged for Covid regulations. Nice touches like table cloths and flowers. At a wedding of about 75 people, the guy who served us (who turned out to be the owner) had a poor attitude each time we asked for a drink at the bar. He was annoyed when asked to open a tab, and was confrontational when I asked to close it, saying "what's the problem? You're trying to do what?" On my way out he said "Did you have a good night SIR?" Very loudly and rudely as though he was angry. I would not go back if he was there. read more

Got off NYS Thruway looking for a place to eat that was not a chain restaurant!! Wow we were so glad we picked this place the food was fantastic! Specials were great, all wraps sandwiches and don't forget to order a side with them ! We will be stopping again on way north or south on our trips on Thruway! It's a shame, they're food is delicious but it's WAY over-priced for the amount you get. I love the Antipasto salad but the small wasn't enough so I bumped it up to a large... Literally the same size with an extra pepperoncini thrown on top and they forgot to add the red peppers which make the salad so good. Bummed. For $9, I expect a bit more. I understand the mozzarella is hand stretched and most of the stuff is homemade but, really? Update: I decided to give the antipasto salad another try because the first time I had it, it was delicious. Maybe last time I ordered it they were having an off day? I mean, it happens.. Wrong. Red peppers were there this time but there was no mozzarella, maybe 4 pieces of the rolled meat and cheese, and about 1 1/2 black olives, sliced. This is for the Large, $9 salad mind you - a complete waste of $9. I'll keep my rating at 3 stars solely because their sandwiches and wraps are really good from what I've experienced. I've never had a bad anything from Stone Pony. My husband hits up Stone Pony just about everyday for breakfast. They'll make just about anything you want, just about any time of day. The breakfast burrito is enormous and delish, and I don't do breakfast. The salads are legit. The barbeque is fantastic. I haven't had the pizza yet, but it looks to stand true that they'll try anything once! Can't wait for the bar/pavilion to be open for chilling!! I would like to take this opportunity to write about a phenomenal experience. My son got married on the Friday before Halloween in Saugerties. Since we are from Long Island, I knew nothing of the local restaurants or caterers. We needed to plan a very large rehearsal dinner from afar. After numerous recommendations from the residents of Saugerties, I started to communicate with John Livermore. He is the owner and chef of The Stone Pony Deli and Caterers. We were looking for a local caterer/restaurant for a casual dinner for about 65 people. As soon as we got in touch with John, he reassured us that The Stone Pony was able to handle everything. He put us at ease which was very important and promptly answered all calls, texts and emails. The Stone Pony facility is glass enclosed with great lighting. The cement formed bar was fully stocked and had great ambience. The stereo system was able to play a pre-selected list of music. Ample parking allowed our elderly guests to easily maneuver from their vehicles. The menu we decided on included ribs, pulled pork, bbq chicken, pizza, mac and cheese, coleslaw, green salad, cookies, brownies, beer, wine and soda. John makes all of his food in his own facility and has some great smokers and pizza ovens. He gave some of our guests a tour of the cooking facilities. The food was GREAT. For appetizers we had their homemade pizza of many varieties. The ribs were smoky, moist and well-seasoned, even without sauce. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection. The pulled pork was out-of-this world. This review of the food at the Stone Pony can't do it justice. I am a self-proclaimed foodie, amateur chef and lived down South for 4 years. Johns' BBQ is as good as it gets. John allowed us to bring our own centerpieces and opened the facility earlier in the day so we can set up. Mr. Livermore and his staff made us feel at home and was present during the whole event which is important to me. Him and his staff were extremely attentive to all the guests. We had pizza from The Stone Pony tonight. The Metropolis is a meat lovers paradise, loaded with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, ham, and meatballs. The crust stood up to the fold. The Perry White is a vegetarian's dream, white sauce, fresh mozzarella, spinach, and broccoli. Both pizzas were delicious. Kudos to John and staff for bringing pizza back to The Pony!! This is a catering review of the Stone Pony- Stone Pony catered our wedding on June 14, 2014 in Woodstock. John is the Man. He is straight to the point and confident-No coddling of an indecisive bride going on here- He recognized that we had no idea what it was that we really wanted for our reception and made some suggestions and built a perfect menu for our BBQ horse farm wedding. He checked in a few times before June to see if there were any changes we needed made and made two site visits and met with us at my parents house to review final details and introduce us to the staff member who would be supervising our reception, which was a really comforting touch. The day of went flawlessly- the bartender and service staff was professional and organized. The bartender had many fans amongst our friends because he was so personable and made wonderful drinks. The food was divine- not to sound biased-but it was the best reception meal I have ever had. We had an assortment of vegetarian, gluten free and meat options- plenty for everyone to choose from. The Hudson Valley has plenty of catering options to choose from, ranging from stuffy, pretentious haute cuisine to down and dirty BBQ and the Stone Pony is the perfect mix of pretty and delicious food, perfect for any event.
