    Pollo Al Limone

We would have never have found this place on our own. Luckily, the Host of the Air BnB where we were staying at told us about it. The place was crowded at 6pm on a rainy Sunday night, but we had a reservation and they sat us at a nice table. Our waitress was seasoned and told us about a lot of specials. And the items they were out of One was an appetizer; Italian Peppers with a sausage stuffing. We thought it would be a good choice, as long as the peppers weren't the spicy ones. Well they were. Honestly, whoever came up with this idea was either drunk or should have saved it for April 1st. Incredibly spicy, and even taking the stuffing out of the pepper didn't work. The oils spread throughout. The house made bread was good, but the 3 spreads that accompanied it were not . A simple butter would have been a better decision. Pappardelle Al Cinghiale {Wild Boar}, was probably the best thing we ordered. We split the pasta course, so we could move on to Secondi. Gamberoni E Fagioli {Shrimp & Beans} was decent , and the Pollo Al Limone (Lemon Chicken) was in no way worth $36.00. Over breaded and bland. Side of Broccoli Rabe was chopped up and looked processed. This was tasteless. How they managed to remove the bitterness out, which is the main characteristic, was baffling. No salt & pepper on the table is always cause for concern. The dessert menu was the usual run of the mill. Purchased from Sysco. I only wanted a bowl of homemade whipped cream. Which I got, but it was not homemade. If you are going to eat here, stick with a pasta dish and go home. This place is expensive ; NYC prices. After seeing a skinny, sliver Christmas Tree with Halloween Ornaments in the foyer, I should have realized we may have chosen the wrong place for dinner.

Absolutely magnificent! We spent the weekend in Saugerties and decided to dine at Annarella for my cousin's birthday dinner. For appetizers, we started with Caesar salad, clams, and lamb meatballs. We thoroughly enjoyed each of them. Between our table, we had the lobster pasta, short rib pasta and the two specials - scallops and steak. Everything was delicious and the portions were a nice size.

Food is outstanding! Rich in flavor and authentic Italian favorites. Service was friendl, attentive and made great recommendations. Cozy atmosphere. Reservation's recommended.

I was reallly looking forward to this restaurant but I am giving it a 3.5/4. My family and I spent a weekend in Saugerties for my Mother's 50th birthday and we decided to come here for her dinner celebration. After reading the reviews I thought it would be a great choice. I honestly was not left too impressed, except for the bread basket and the octopus antipasta. Everything else, including my lamb ragu special was very underwhelming. I'm not sure if it's because we're from NYC, famous for some amazing Italian restaurants, but the food was missing overall flavor and tasted bland. The only reason I didn't give a 2/3 is because our waitress was super friendly and was very attentive and sweet. At one point my sister found a piece of plastic in her lasagna and she kindly apologized and immediately brought her a new dish (which was cold but at that point she was so hungry she still ate it) and comped both meals and dessert. I think the staff is great, but food could be better especially for the $$$

Came here for my boyfriend's 30th birthday and the food and service were amazing! We started with the stuffed pepper special - which was (warning) super spicy but yummy, and the crab special which was soooo fresh and sweet. I had the halibut risotto special and my bf had the bone in veal parm. Both of our meals were great and we would definitely go to Annarella's again!

Annarella's is one of my favorites. We have been long time customers as we are Saugerties locals. The family is amazing, and their staff is great. We had great drinks, and the bartender even whipped up a mocktail for my mom as she doesn't drink alcohol anymore but still wants to have a fun drink. I got the mussels for a starter and they are in the best sauce that I wish I could drink. Pro tip: save some of the complimentary bread to dip in the sauce. For my main I got the short rib pasta, it was delicious and rich. For dessert, I got my usual tiramisu and coffee. What is it about restaurant coffee that is so much better than at home? The tiramisu is a must try, and something I always make sure to leave room for. We sat in the back room which is filled with various chandeliers. It is ornate and beautiful, and certainly adds to the experience!

It doesn't look like much on the inside. They do not have any inside seating, but there are two tables on the outside if you want to eat There. This is primarily at a to go spot. However, one thing that is cool, they actually have a working "space invaders" machine in a corner of the shop. My partner wanted a meatball slice, but they didn't have it that day, so, the lady offered to put meatballs on a garlic and mushroom slice. It was a big slice, too! My partner liked it very much. She said it was delicious. For dessert, she had a slice of the Godiva chocolate cake, or as we like to jokingly call it, the Godiva, death by chocolate cake. I haven't had it yet, but she says it is so rich and so very delicious! I wasn't very hungry today, so I just had the garlic knot meatball sliders. Excellent! You can definitely smell and taste the garlic, the garlic knots, themselves are tender, and the meatball in the middle is tender and very tasty. They also come with a good amount of cheese. There was a marinara sauce/gravy for dipping, that was also excellent. It was just an appetizer, but it filled me up. I ordered from them again, and I had the mushroom/meatball pizza that my partner had yesterday. It was delicious! For dessert, I had the fried dough, basically deep fried dough balls covered with powdered sugar. No, not diet food, but they are delicious. The price was very reasonable, and they even offer a military/veterans discount. There is a 4% "upcharge", to cover their costs if you are paying with plastic instead of cash. Not a big deal to us. We will definitely order from here again. Thank you!

That said, I still got a sub - they've definitely slimmed down recently, but damn it was tasty. I also got a pint of the red hot pickles, which aren't that spicy, but still tasty. The owner was nice enough, I wouldn't say friendly, but didn't snarl at me. I do find it funny that none of the subs seem to have pickles on them, considering it's a pickle place! ‍ Here's hoping he fixes the porch, maybe spiffs up the place a little, and stays open for a long time - because the subs really used to be good!
