Wow! This is a place I've passed so many times but yesterday my brother and I went for a 8 mile hike near by and were both craving a good deli sandwich. This place knows how to make real good food. When we first walked in the staff seemed busy with lots of pizza delivery orders so we were expecting to wait but they told us it would be just a few minutes to get both of our subs. I ordered the Italian mix sub and he ordered the god father sub, we both got an Italian soda and a bag of chips. The total was $45 which at first I thought was a little steep but when we got our to-go order and saw the sizes I was blown away. These subs are MASSIVE. And DELICIOUS!!! I could barely finish half of a half at first. I had the rest for dinner and then shared the other half for lunch today. It's a sweet spot to stop for a quick bite on the way or to take on the road with you. They also have pizza by the slice for an even quicker option which can be taken on the road or they have a few tables to dine at. They have an excellent selection of drinks in the coolers like Italian flavored sodas, Brazilian sodas, and your typical Arizona teas and coke or Pepsi products. We were so impressed and sort of disappointed we'd held out so long on stopping by this place. Highly recommend. Portion sizes are large so that is something to consider but the prices are fair and the quality is top notch. Forget everything you know and hate about Steve's Pizzeria. The game just changed. And, while it is well worth the visit, there are some who consider this place is atrocious as they come. That being said, it is considered to be one of the treasures on this side of Kingston, NY on Route 28 and what it lacks in atmos, it makes up for in true star quality. This isn't my fave and thin, Patsy's Pizzeria in E. Harlem- but Steve's certainly does the job. Plus, these folks use FRESH mushroom and not canned crap for crying out loud. In all the years we've driven by here to head to Woodstock, I almost felt embarrassed that we've never noticed. But I picked up a plain slice and a mushroom in the middle of the afternoon since I was in the area already. You know how you go to some pizza shop and the pizza looks scraggly and almost dried because they've been sitting out all day? These don't. While they are placed on the partitioned glass shelf, somehow, Steve's pizza looks fresh and the finished product, tastes even better. In the 10 or so minutes it took me to get home, our 2 slices were still hot and traveled well. It's a bit doughy than what I like but it hit the spot. I've had a couple of other items from Steve's that I would rate decent and or acceptable but the plain-old- beautiful classic cheese slice is NEARLY PERFECT! I picked up two slices on my way home tonight after a particularly long, stupid day and as someone who lived in NYC most of my adult life and who makes my own pizza at home pretty regularly... this pizza is the best slice in the hudson valley! I've always passed this place for years, but never stopped because it's on a very busy road (or cars are moving at a fast pace). Now really regret that. Stopped in for a few slices (sausage and pepperoni) and was surprised to find they have a thin, maybe thin-medium, crust. Another time, got the eggplant parm and godfather sub, which was so large that after splitting between the family, we still didn't finish. One thing to note is that they gave us real plates, along with some salad. Inside is a standard pizzeria setup and I don't know any of them, but they seem to run like a family business. Definitely plan on going back anytime I head to Belleayre. read more

Subs are really good. Alot of meat. You can share one sub with four people. The pizza isnt that great.

Food is fantastic the subs are the biggest I've ever had the pleasure to eat, service is great and place is very clean.

Stromboli was a perfect mix of ingredients, Philly cheesesteak was really good quality steak, turkey sandwich was probably 6 pounds of super thin sliced turkey on soft, crusty sesame bread. First off, my husband called in a to go order and the guy who answered the phone was rude and condescending. My husband ordered wings and he said come on my guy you have to tell me boneless or not. I've never called anymore and had them question me. If he wanted boneless he would have said that and not to mention the guy could have been nicer. Then said are you going to tell me how many wings. 6 or 12. Again condescending. In all fairness online it doesn't specify how many come in an order unless you do the order online. First time at Steve's. The pizza was good, classic New York style, salty and greasy! The subs are humongous, and will definitely last a few meals. Service seemed standard. The place itself is small, with a few indoor tables and a nice patio, despite its roadside location. My entire family enjoyed their music playlist quite a bit! Will be coming back. read more

We normally go to a different pizza restaurant but, because it was Sunday, we ordered from here. I ordered an eggplant parm sub and my wife and daughter ordered calzones. The calzones were...meh. The sub was not good. The roll was untoasted and soggy with sauce, the eggplant under done. I had to eat it with a knife and fork since it was impossible to pick up. This isn't the first experience we had with them. Previously, we ordered a pizza that had a soggy crust and sauce and cheese that were tasteless. Hole on the wall places are usually some of the best for both Pizza and Chinese food. This is no exception. Found it after my old favorite changed hands with bad consequences. Tonight was just a plain cheese pizza, perfect thin/crisp crust, the right balance of cheese and sauce for my pallet. The pizza is consistently good... beyond good to great. The sami's when we have had them are packed, the staff is nice. This is our new place for the Friday night/ I don't wanna cook pizza night. Careful leaving the parking lot, though. Met Steve and we talked in between customers about supplier we both used and general business. Place was very clean and some prices like large cheese were lower than what I was charging years ago. 1st time ordering. The pizza was ...not good at all. Buffalo chicken.... Where's the chicken????? The pep and jalapeno...meh...Had better from Dominos, and we dont like Dominos. I was skeptical when ordering roast beef, but they were not skimpy. I can handle a big meal but could only eat half a sub. Packed with meat! I've been living in the area for 27 years and pass this place almost daily, but have never stopped in or ordered food here. I was put off by the bare bones appearance of the place. I noticed some good reviews on the food and they are one of the very few places that delivers to my location so I ordered a small pie with sausage, which is my standard for judging a new pizza restaurant. The food arrived sooner than promised. The pizza was good New York style with nice bubbly crust, plenty of cheese and a tasty red sauce underneath. Also got a small garden salad which was also good with fresh lettuce and dressing on the side. I agree that they produce really tasty NY style Pizza! read more
