We went for a walk in Weisner's Woods this afternoon (highly recommend) before our 5pm dinner at the Stowehof. Upon entering, we were pleasantly greeted by the front desk clerk. We headed downstairs to the bar lounge where we'd be having dinner. Brenda, our server and bartender, was super sweet and helpful. I got a glühwein to warm up and my dining partner got a hot toddy cider with I think Fireball (because it tasted like when I make it that way). We ordered the cheeseburger and fried chicken sandwiches and split them so we could each try them. Both were fantastic. The copious side of fries were perfectly cooked and crispy; the chicken was flavorful, perfectly crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The cheeseburger was absolutely perfect. We decided to forgo a dessert, but they had a couple appetizing choices. Both Brenda and the gentleman who ran out our food were super welcoming and hospitable. The ambience is very charming. Yes, as others have said, the decor is a bit retro, but it was very clean and tidy. I can imagine what a spectacular venue it had to be in the 70s. It's still a pretty cool place today. We had a great stay at the Stowehof. First, I was to say that not all the staff is pleasant... but Christopher who was working the night shift was extremely helpful and welcoming as we checking in at 11:00 pm. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for years I know the night shift is hard and he really was hospitable. The server working breakfast was also amazing both days! We order breakfast to go as we had a dog and enjoyed it out on the Adirondack chairs. The room, was very fun! A little outdated but it's Vermont! It had a certain chair that I loved. The building is beautiful with the original wood and trees. All of the little nooks and fireplaces are so fun and cozy. We did have a dog and felt very safe and comfortable and wanted there which was huge. The backyard was a perfect spot for our pup to run and play before we headed to the mountain. They do put all the dogs in one section on one separate floor so if you don't have a dog they aren't around you wish is nice. The breakfast was amazing! So amazing we got it both days. Highly highly suggest the breakfast sandwich and the hash brown. We got it to go as we were getting ready to ski and had a dog. Service at breakfast was great. Dinner was also very good. We had the Fried Testa appetizer special and it was delicious... the sauce that went with it was absolutely amazing. I had the mushroom cavatelli. The menu is limited but different and delicious! Service at dinner was a little strange as our server switched to the bartender and we were told that the kitchen was closing pretty early. My stay at the Stowehof was terrible. The rooms were all outdated. Doors to the outside patio did not lock on first floor. Another room didn't have a lock to the balcony which was accessible from from the balcony on the second floor. Another room made very loud noise from the bathroom because of the pipes which heated the room. But the worst thing of all that made my stay horrendous was the front desk "supervisor". His name is JAYTON! Even though every room had problems that could have been over seen, JAYTON'S attitude and disrespect he showed myself and girlfriend was shocking. I have never experienced such terrible customer service\ hospitality. I was laughed at numerous times and even made out to feel like an idiot when JAYTON said " Now this is our last room. It's room 20, which is obviously next to room 19." He laughed and smirked again. I told management about this and how I feel he should be fired for his behavior. However they disagreed and said they had spoke to him and would not be firing him. I was in shock that an establishment would put up with an employees behavior like this and is why I'm writing another review. Amazing. Serene. Beautiful. My husband and I stopped in Stowe on our way to Maine and booked last minute at the Stowehof. We were not disappointed at all. This resort is a timeless beauty with the most friendly staff we have ever encountered over our many journeys. Dinner at Fritz was absolutely delicious and breakfast the next morning with a view of the mountains was even better. The hash browns were even amazing. We stayed in a king room with a view and had a balcony with a breathtaking view. We are already planning a trip back here just to come and stay. I could see this being an amazing resort in the winter as it has multiple spaces for guests to entertain themselves and cozy fireplaces. You will not regret staying here. read more

I'm not going to lie, I was skeptical of this place and only booked it because the reviews were so all over the place... either you're horrified or loved it and I was interested to visit. I actually read that this hotel could be used to film a horror movie... and I believe it! But I loved it. This is just like what may of other reviewers have said... older alpine style reminiscent of vacations with your parents... nothing has changed, not even the linens. I chose a Mountain View for the extra $20 and had a first floor room with French doors that opened up to the lawn. The room was decent sized with an adjacent hallway which lead to the bathroom. The bathroom is definitely dated and the heated lamp was something different.. My only complaint is that the bedette, I'm assuming this is what the plumbing next to the toilet was, did not work. I'm not sure I'd actually use it, but I wanted to see it work! Ample closet space and there was a Murphy bed! Cons... there was no coffee maker. I knew this coming in and still forgot my percolator. The pool and jacuzzi are average with plenty of seating around the pool and beautiful windows and French doors to view the grounds as you swim. There is a Tavern down stairs that I wish I had had a drink at but I ended up staying upstairs in the lounge hanging around the four fire places. Beautiful natural and contemporary style with an Art Deco feel. I loved everything about this place and can't wait to go back! The hallways are long, narrow with old wooden doors and real keys. The location & grounds of the hotel are beautiful, The lobby area is nice and has a fireplace and nice sitting area and overlooks the beautiful grounds however the rooms are old, dated and broken down. For $300 a night I would expect a lot more!!, no Kleenex, the a/c unit in the wall is a dinosaur, the shutters are broken and painted so you can't open or close them, The TV small & old on a old corner table ... no coffee or tea or water in the rooms, no breakfast at the hotel. Basically a disappointment. Not worth more than $150 a night if that. With that said I want to add that the next day I spoke with the girl at the front desk Alicia she was super nice & professional and offered a discount on my room which I really appreciated and made all the difference in my experience. An eclectic, stylish hotel! I loved the views of the green mountains. The breakfast area and common room provided excellent views. It was also a delight to sit by the pool with the mountains in the background. They also had an indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. We played shuffle board. Volleyball was also an option. For the room, we got a king. It was the middle option, not the Mountain View room. This was good enough for us because we spent more time by the pool than in our room on the little patio. We didn't have a balcony like we thought. The room itself was nice. The TV was very tiny, and the shower took at least ten minutes to heat up. The room also didn't come with a mini fridge, the most annoying part because we didn't have anywhere to store our food or drinks. These things didn't take away from the experience though. We got free breakfast because of a deal offered online. You have to pay for it otherwise. The waitress was atrocious. She couldn't handle having more than one table in the dining room at a time. She was very slow. She messed up our order twice while we were there. The second time we made sure to be very clear. I said I wanted the breakfast sandwich and a muffin. My boyfriend wanted a wrap with bacon and hash browns. What we got was a wrap with no bacon. I didn't get my muffin; I got a side of hash browns instead. If it wasn't for her, breakfast would've been good. We never ate at the Fritz Restaurant because nothing on the small menu looked appealing especially considering the prices. We got drinks from the bar our first night because they had $5 margaritas. They didn't have any kind of special our next two days, and we didn't want to pay the full $12 for a margarita. We did like our experience here, however. The grounds were worth the hassle of the other things. read more

My husband Matt B. and I spent three nights at The Stowehof, along with his cousins, aunt, uncle, and father. We had traveled from California for his cousin's wedding, and the whole lodge was blocked for guests. It ended up being the headquarters for the weekend, with both a Friday night welcome party and a Sunday farewell brunch at the hotel. The place was the perfect size for the wedding entourage, with something like 40 rooms, large enough to accommodate a good chunk of the guests. It was cozy and fun, the homey Alpine cabin ambiance making it feel like someone's ski town getaway mansion. There were framed pictures of the bride and groom set up in the lobby. Service was friendly across the board, adding to the welcoming vibe. I loved The Stowehof's common areas. There were a few huge rooms that made for great party spaces. My favorite was a large living area with lots of casual furniture and a sunken fireplace where you could warm up on a bench two feet away. There were enough books and games to keep guests entertained in the absence of snow activities and alcohol. The dining room was similarly comfortable, separated from the living space by a small alcove where you could get free coffee. The view from these common areas was lovely, snow white Vermont mountain beauty. I also enjoyed the downstairs bar, which was warm, dim, and relaxing. Food and drink were solid. Both Friday dinner and Sunday brunch were served buffet style, and there were plenty of options. The food was traditional and satisfying, with like salad, pasta, fish, and chicken for dinner; eggs, bacon, fruit, and pastries for brunch. The drinks were great. I had several cans of Heady Topper IPA, as well as some ice cold Moscow Mules made with local vodka. Our room was comfortable, clean and attractive with cute, rustic furniture. The bathroom could use a remodel, but it was well maintained. My only real complaint is that the mattress was super lumpy. It wasn't great to sleep on for three nights bookended by long days of travel. Otherwise, though, I really enjoyed our stay. Matt's relatives chose The Stowehof because they were able to book the whole place, and the rates were affordable enough that it was an appealing option to most guests. We paid something like $400 for our three nights--definitely reasonable, and parking was free. This wasn't a luxury lodge, but it was unique and charming, friendly and full of character. I'd recommend The Stowehof if you're planning a trip to Stowe, particularly if you're traveling with a large group of friends. read more

So, we stayed here just passing through so we didn't have any of the ski-related location benefits. We booked through Hotel Tonight app for a very good deal around $100 for the room. It's up on the mountain, so for those doing the ski-things nearby when it's in season, I can see why the location of this spot would be great. The look of the place is very old, charming ski lodge. If you're looking to take cool apres-ski type photos, this is a place for that for sure. The common spaces had fireplaces and interesting decor, seats, etc. However, we had some issues at check-in that were NOT the hotel's fault. Clearly, Hotel Tonight allowed us to book a room when they weren't expecting us to be able to so we arrived to a closed front desk. We ended up going down to the bar and finding the hotel manager who was very helpful to check us in. It took a long time, but again, that's on the fault of Hotel Tonight completely. However, ignoring the check-in process, the hotel really let me down with the bed. Oh man. I don't know if we just got unlucky of if we're spoiled with a good bed at home (we are for sure), but the bed in room 49, while a big King, was so uncomfortable. It was hard and I woke up with such a back ache. Alongside that, the room is really "charming" and old. It had a traditional key and windows and a sliding door that open to a shared balcony which wasn't the safest feeling either. Not a huge deal since this is a safe area, but still? Water pressure was decent in the shower and there was no lack of hot water, so that was good there. Based on other reviews and the good parts of my experience, this isn't a bad choice especially if the location is actually benefiting you, but I've stayed in better too. read more

You may want to reconsider booking here! So we chose this place place because it was in our price range and had a restaurant and bar right at the inn. Website had great pictures and it looked really inviting. BUT WAIT!!!! We get to the location and as we check in we noticed the restaurant and bar were dark. We asked the check in person when they opened the bar and were told the bar and restaurant are permanently closed. The restaurant will serve breakfast but that's it. He said we should have received an email indicating such. We we did get an email less than 72 hours before check in, so we couldn't cancel and find a different place. We also found out that the place has been sold and will be closing in November 2022. I feel we were deceived and would advise anyone looking to stay here to reconsider. read more

This review is not for a stay at the hotel. My fiance and I first wrote to the Stowehof on or about November 22, 2018 regarding our wedding. We fell absolutely in love with the venue, and wanted to get in touch to plan our wedding for October 2019. We received no response. My fiance called on or about November 30 to follow up and was told that the wedding planner, Kelly, would get back to us that day or the next. We heard nothing. I called again on December 6 and was told that the Stowehof was very busy with hiring new staff and that Kelly was aware of our request and would be in touch. We have heard nothing to date, and it has been over a month. This has been the most unprofessional experience with a wedding venue. I have not experienced this level of unresponsiveness from any other venue. We are no longer interested in the Stowehof as it's impossible to trust a venue with such an event when they cannot manage timely responses. read more

I really liked this place because of it's Alpine ski lodge architecture. I felt the shape of the building fit well into the hill and the views were beautiful. I loved swimming in the pool and staring into the foggy mountains. Sure the decor is old but I think it's charming. The resturaunt inside this building, is exceptional.I had course after course of gourmet food. From a bllueberry cheese brulee to perfectly moist and succulent Vermont Rabbit and duck. It's a decent hotel. When I made the reservation, I mentioned that we were traveling for our honeymoon and asked if it was possible to have some craft beer left in the room for my husband as a surprise. They said it shouldn't be a problem and asked it there was anything else I wanted to request, and I said no, just the beer. When we arrived, there was no beer in the room and no mention to me at check in that they were unable to accommodate our request. That was disappointing. The view was nice, and having a room on the first floor made it easy to take the dog outside. The screen to the patio was completely useless. There was also a lock on the slider door, but the room keys didn't work in them, so not really sure what the point of that was. We still had to walk through the hotel to go out since we couldn't leave through the patio. There was an awkward shared kitchen that wasn't mentioned until I opened the door and saw the guest from the next room over putting something into the fridge and she informed me it was shared. Yup, got the pleasure of sharing a mini fridge. The bathtub in the room seemed awesome until we turned on the jets and black stuff came out of them. Needless to say, we only used it that once. Also, on Wednesday, we were out of the room from 8-5, and the room wasn't cleaned. Housekeeping came around after we returned and wanted to relax, so we declined housekeeping. The magazine that was In the room had a used tissue in the middle of it. The bed was fine but we ended up rolling toward the middle, so I didn't sleep great. The price was right, and the location was nice, but there are a lot of awesome places to stay in Stowe and I'm not sure I would stay here again. read more

Found this place on Yelp and booked same day. So glad I did... Absolutely stunningly beautiful hotel and grounds. Had a little trouble figuring out how to get inside. They've got a slew of random rooms and a large living room area with 3 fireplaces. True mountain lodge. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are very clean. I found my new mountain getaway. The Stowehof has a very "snow lodge" feel to it. If you're looking for modern this is not your kind of place. Fairly inexpensive and check in was a breeze. My husband and I typically check in an hour or two after check in time to avoid having to wait around. Molly at the front desk was great, printed out hiking trails in the area and everything. There are a ton of restaurants, pubs and breweries in the are as well as local attractions such as Ben and Jerry's and Cabot Annex. We stayed in a standard king bed room. The bed side tables were wobbly but the bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. All rooms that I could see offer a door out to a veranda. Our only window in the room faced out to the veranda so it couldn't be utilised due to lack of privacy. Breakfast was included with out room and had lots to offer and was hot and tasty. The common areas were super cute but didn't seem to be used much during our stay. I would definitely suggest it to friends and family and would definitely come back. read more

This hotel is fantastic! It's super rustic, but entirely interesting. I almost felt like we wouldn't find all of the stuff to see. Here's how it starts, we arrive before check in, our room isn't ready. The woman at the front desk suggests we go lounge by the pool while they finish prepping our room. Perfect way to start in Stowe. We changed, relaxed by the pool, went for a dip and soaked in the breathtaking views of the mountains. Then we meandered upstairs, our room was ready, we had a mountain view room and it was huge. When I stay at a rustic hotel I don't expect everything to be perfect. The one downside was hot water regulation when showering. Our room also had a bidet... We went to the bar one night and sat by the fire outside, and that was lovely and the cocktails were good. I can't wait to go back, the only thing that would make it better is traveling with friends, the great room with games, etc would be a blast if we had been with a group. Ok, so this is the LEAST expensive option to stay after doing A LOT of research. WHAT A DUMP! If you are looking to stay in a throw-back 70's ski lodge, here ya go. It is pet-friendly though. No amenities whatsoever. Paint peeling in room, faucet leaking, etc., and SO FREAKING expensive (let's just say lower end prices for Boston). I've been visiting Stowe for over ten years now and have stayed at a wide range of places during a variety of seasons - Stowehof Inn was the worst. We booked two nights and arrived late after a snowy drive from New York. The driveway and parking wasn't plowed and so we had to park in an awkward position. Although we were in desperate need of a good night's sleep, someone upstairs paced all night long and made it impossible for either of us to get more than a couple hours of sleep. It sounded like they were wearing boots on a hardwood floor. The bathroom fans are also very noisy, to the point that you can hear the neighboring room's fan. When the sun came up, we saw a filthy, outdated room. The fabric on the chairs was worn and there was a thick layer of dust on all of the furniture. The sheets and carpets had stains. The bathroom appeared that it had also not been cleaned. But the real frustrating moment came when we attempted to take a shower. We both looked for every possible way to turn on the hot water with no success. We informed the front desk who said that the faucets "could be quirky." From the inn's website, we had planned a weekend retreat including some exercise and relaxation, so we decided to take a look at the pool and what was advertised as a "fitness center," which amounted to a tiny, freezing cold room crammed full of outdated exercise equipment. At this point, we decided it was probably best for us to change rooms and so we visited the front desk. The staff was completely unresponsive and overwhelmed (apparently due to a special event). I was basically told that I didn't know how to work the faucet and that they would send a maintenance man up. We kindly opted to go ahead and cancel the second night's stay and find other accommodations in town. There was absolutely no apology or any sense of customer satisfaction. We overheard someone in the back say "tell him to move his car too." Upon my return home, I called and asked for the manager/owner. We had a fifteen minute conversation during which he was defensive and offered numerous excuses: my wife does the laundry and cleaning, we had a wedding that weekend, I can't control the noise, you probably forgot to push the button for the hot water, maybe we're just not the right place for you. When I mentioned the name of the place that we moved to for the second night, he responded that it was "much fancier". After a friendly debate, he offered a somewhat insincere apology coupled with "we'll give you an upgrade and a good rate if you book a future multi-night stay with us"...no thanks. A partial refund would have done the trick. I've traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe in a wide range of accommodations. I'm not a snob, but if the prices are going to be gouged seasonally up to $150, then I want a decent night's sleep, a hot shower, a room that doesn't give the impression that it's infested with bed bugs, and a basic level of customer service. read more

Booked a weekend getaway for the family here. Two rooms initially for two days and then extended it to four. Had to cancel, over six weeks in advance, got a canceled fee of $165. Have tried to both email them and phone them. No replies. Web site says a $25 cancelation fee! Do not recommend anyone do business with this facility. read more

My first time staying in town in Stowe and it was fantastic. Couldn't have asked for better hospitality. The inn is lovely with an adorable and cozy pub below it. We stayed on the first floor and our room overlooked the mountains and was plenty large enough for the 2 of us and our ski gear. Coslin's Pub, located in lower portion, had a great menu. Try the aged cheddar fondue and finish up with the chocolate fondue! Molly, Zach, Matt, and Dave all were fantastic hosts and bartenders. Felt right at home and like I've known them forever after 2 nights. There were other options in town recco'd to us, but on both days, we just opted to stay in and head to pub instead. We only stayed one night, but I wish we had more time at the Stowehof to enjoy all of their amenities. We loved the decor! Our room was clean and the king bed was extremely comfortable. Our dinner at the Fritz was so delicious! The cocktails were just okay, nothing to rave about. The staff at the front desk was very apologetic the next morning during check out regarding the fire incident and comped our room. One recommendation would be to have some rooms with mini fridges and/or microwaves. All in all, I would stay here again! read more

Oh goodness. This wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed, but I can guarantee I won't be back. Some reasons for this are: 1. The indoor pool and spa were closed due to roof maintenance. This should be told to the customer when they're booking. 2. The pool outside should be ready to use if the indoor pool is closed. It was so nice out, but the water was frigid. Not chilly, but absolutely, intolerably freezing. Either warm it up or keep the indoor pool open a bit longer. How dare you claim to have a pool and then not deliver. 3. The fitness area no longer existed, as it was now converted into a bedroom for interns. Are you kidding me? 4. The breakfast was decent, but a bit lacking. All of the breads were hard and stale. Thank goodness there were boiled eggs, or I'd have nothing to eat. The cheese seemed to be out a long time; it wasn't even cold at 9am. Breakfast only started an hour earlier. 5. Instead of running the AC (do they even have one?), the Inn decided to leave the doors open. This not only brought in the oppressive humidity to mix with the 80+ degree temps, but it also brought in massive bugs. I have asthma, so it was a bit of a nightmare. I couldn't enjoy any of the common areas and had to remain in my room for most of my stay with my tiny AC from circa 1975. 6. The bed was the bounciest, most ridiculous bed I've ever slept on. We woke up so many times throughout the night. 7. I tried to use my groupon dinner voucher on our first evening there around 8pm. The front desk had advised me that the pub was open until 9:30pm. When going down there, the bar tender told me that the chef had left since no one had ordered food in 4 hours. If I were only staying one night and had lost the opportunity to use my voucher, I would've been livid. 7. The housekeeper was vacuuming at 8:30am. This is not necessary. Sorry folks, I'd just look for another place to stay, honestly. The view from the back deck is gorgeous and, maybe for winter stays, this place much better. I just won't be back. read more

It is an Ok place as long as don't have expectations of luxury. The room we stayed in was clean, bed was comfortable, overall it wasn't a bad experience. What doesn't work: 1) The place really needs a major face lift, everything feels old and dated and not in a good way 2) There should be more staff available, particularly during the check-in/check-out times 3) Breakfast is too heavy on comfort foods, please add more healthy food choices What works: 1) Living room downstairs is great, it is stocked with board games, there are plenty of fireplaces, everything is operational. 2) Bar downstairs has a good selection of beer, for example they had Switchback Unfiltered Ale, which is difficult to find normally 3) The staff (whenever we managed to get a hold of them) is very helpful and have a great attitude. read more

I'm a college student who just spent Christmas up at the Stowehof to go skiing with friends. The Inn was lovely. There was a small indoor pool with a small sauna and jacuzzi that was open until 9 pm every night, and there was a beautiful dining room with full wait service. There's also a cute common area with two fire places, one of which you can build your own fire in. I stayed in a standard room with 3 friends. The hotel provided hot breakfast each morning and it was pretty good, but we didn't like the pancakes. The only thing is: they advertise free wifi, but the wifi doesn't reach most of the rooms. If you want to use internet, you will have to use it in the common area. We were mildly frustrated by this, but it wasn't a big deal. The hotel didn't have any salt down on the road leading to the entrance and my friend slipped and banged his elbow when we were leaving one morning, so that could be improved, but it's really close to Stowe Mountain Resort so it took us no time to get to the mountain. read more

Beautiful landscape and everything was very clean. The people at the desk were very nice, but some gave confusing information. We were told by one person that they don't provide small refrigerators and then when my sister-in-law pointed out after our third day stay there that it would be a good feature for the rooms to have, we were told by a different person that we absolutely could have had a small refrigerator brought into our room. We tried the breakfast on our first morning there which was a disappointment, but it was mostly due to the fact they were very short handed and didn't serve a normal breakfast, just what seemed like thawed out breakfast sandwiches. There are numerous excellent restaurants in the area so this wasn't a problem. Beautiful place, beautiful area, nice folks running the place and would definitely go back again. read more

I really like the Stowehof. My husband and I always stay here when we go snowboarding at Stowe. It's not a 5 star hotel, but it doesn't purport to be. It's architecturally very cool on the outside, because it was built and originally owned by an architect. It's cozy and charming in a very old school kind of way, and perfect for crashing and aprés ski after a long day on the slopes. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, with nice views of the mountains and snowy forest. On our last visit ours had a new bed with a memory foam mattress and a flat screen TV - definite updates from the last time we stayed there. We always like to grab dinner in the pub downstairs at least one night. Breakfast is free and pretty comprehensive, and set up early so you can get to the mountain right when it opens for freshies - which is important! They also do horse drawn sleigh rides which we haven't partaken of but damn is that charming! The whole place is just that - charming...and quirky. Service is fine if a little slow (but hello, you're on vacation, chiiillll), and certainly friendly. We like this place. We fondly call it "Twin Peaks". It's got personality, in the best way. read more

We went to Stowehof Inn because of a Living Social deal, which included a four pack of Heady Topper. We had an awesome time!! The staff was excellent & the resort was awesome. Especially, for the Living Social deal ($179 for two nights). The wife & I will definitely look to stay here again the next time we go back to Stowe, VT. read more

If you're looking for the newest, most modern resort in Stowe then the Stowehof isn't for you. However, if you are looking for a classic example of a European style ski resort that radiates warmth and comfort not only through its architecture but also its staff then you've found your place. There is a large common area that's probably the best aspect of the Stowehof in my opinion. Lots of chair and couches to hunker down with a book or play a board game, (which they provide) or sit in front of one of the multiple fireplaces with a cocktail. Even on a busy Saturday night myself and my companions had no trouble finding seating right in front of a fire. There is a pub on site and it has a pretty decent menu, (I suggest the cheese fondue) and drinks but if you want to kick back with a bottle of store bought wine in the common room like we did there's that option. I will say that you get what you pay for with regards to rooms. I have previously stayed in one of their cheaper rooms and this past weekend in one of their more expensive mountain view rooms. Whichever option best fits your budget both types are clean and comfortable. For me personally, the extra space and impressive views are worth the extra money but if you're just looking for a place to crash after skiing the cheaper rooms are perfectly acceptable. Staff was all very pleasant. Mollie and Karen at the front desk were very helpful. The staff of the pub were very friendly, suggesting food / drink options and speaking about local events and attractions. Bottom line, not that newest or fanciest place in Stowe but it's a warm, friendly and reasonably priced. I will certainly return. read more

This place is fabulous. It's tucked away with gorgeous views, has a really lovely pool and grounds and very comfortable beds. We had (affordable!) breakfast and snacks and beer and all were good. But the best part is the design, decor and atmosphere. All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and would return here for sure. read more

I think this is labeled as a 3-star hotel. The price for a night was over $200. We got the pet-friendly room and it was awful. The carpet was incredibly old with obviously pee stains but it looked like it hadn't been replaced in over 20 years... fine.. but there was no fridge in the room, there was an old strange couch that looked like it was picked up off the street, some old wooden table that didn't match any sort of decor and no chair .. we took one from outside. Our towel was stained... the toilet bowl wasn't cleaned. It was just a mess of a room. There were zero comforts. The bed was fine but who knows how clean it actually was. Our Airbnb was nicer than this room. I was shocked. It definitely wasn't Covid regulated at all. I saw one teenager cleaning the other rooms. One person. I would not go back. Maybe it was because it was pet-friendly (really shouldn't be an excuse) ... the hotel looks epic, but it's not maintained, and therefore it's over-priced. read more
