My New Favorite Drink Spot: Sip Coffee and Cocktails! When I tell you I love the drinks here I mean it. The barista working made me a strawberry hibiscus mocktail and it is one of the best mocktails I have ever had and I truly mean that. This is a place that has been sitting on my list for a while for things to try. My bestie absolutely loved the caramel apple latte it was phenomenal iced I'm not a big coffee person but I did try a sip and I would definitely order it. We have agreed that this is our new favorite spot and I don't really think there's a way to top that we will be coming back. It's super cozy feeling and extremely quiet. Multiple students here working on laptops - it's very student friendly and all around a great place to go for a girl's day if you want mimosas or some nice cocktails or even an alcohol-free alternative. read more

Cocktails were good. Pricing is decent. We had good friendly service from one of the servers. The atmosphere was definitely a lot different from what we were expecting. There were even kids hanging around at the bar counter. The pictures on socials make it look more upscale, trendy and inviting. It was pretty odd. read more

attended an event at sip coffee and cocktails and enjoyed 2 cocktails while there. unfortunately their oven was not working, so i couldn't try their flatbread pizzas (which sounded so yummy!) they have happy hour from 4-6pm with great choices for cocktails, i had the margaritas which was perfectly balanced (coming from a girl who doesn't always love margs) their is plenty of seating outside, a handful of indoor tables with lots of bar space. i'd definitely recommend! great spot in alger heights read more

Located in Alger Heights, Sip Coffee and Cocktails is now open and serving drinks and small plates. Nate and I stopped in after a quick dinner across the street at Don Beto's. The space is cozy and we snagged one of the last two-top tables. The vibe was relaxed and dimly lit. Our server Elaine was so kind and conversational. I was happy to see they have some spirit-free drink options, so I got the blueberry paloma and Nate got the strawberry hibiscus. While our drinks were being made, I had fun looking at all the art in the space. There is a pretty large patio out front that will be great for warmer months! Our drinks were really good - I liked that they weren't too sweet, with great flavors. The blueberry paloma made with spirit-free tequila was refreshing and bubbly. I'd definitely order this again. I don't make it to this area that frequently, but I'd love to stop in again and try some more spirit-free drinks or a coffee. read more

I've been to Sip a few times, and it's a really chill spot for hangouts and meetings with friends. They have a nice bar seating area that looks out onto Eastern, which is really nice. On my most recent visit, I had the Apple Sage mocktail, and holy cow it was delicious! I'll definitely be back to try it again! read more

I was just whelmed by Sip. I was hoping for great things with how adorable their outside is (love the painted flowers on the building) and spacious patio that is dog friendly. The indoors is cute as well with plants galore, art by a local artists, and they even have a little children's book section. The menu was a little smaller than I expected and a lot of items were crossed out as being out of stock since no one stocked over night (waitress said they didn't inform her before opening). So most cocktails, which there were like 5 options (a little low in my opinion for a place called sip coffee and cocktails), were missing an ingredient or two. The drinks were fine. Nothing that really said 'wow, come try this again' but it wasn't bad. Just whelmed. Maybe the coffee is better. I do applaud the waitress though as she was the only one working with a long line. Fortunately for her, as the line winded down a second employee arrived to help. Parking is located in a lot in back. read more

I've been to Sip twice now and both times my experience has been wonderful! The service is top tier, each server I've had has been so kind and patient and helpful. I haven't got food here yet, but the drinks are really good! I'd say they're priced a little bit on the high end, but nothing crazy. This is a small space, very cozy but welcoming. Plenty of room to sit with a small or large group. I love the concept of coffee in the morning and apps/drinks in the evening. There's something for everyone! read more

Was really excited to spend our family coffee time morning here. And we loved the rosemary latte... But I bumped my rating down bc service was really slow despite how sparse it was at the time and I had nowhere to change my baby's diaper even with their spacious bathroom. Again, great coffee. Slow service. Not baby friendly. A changing table and high chairs would be a nice plus. read more

They offer local baked goods and bagels and in the evening there are warm flatbreads and dips to share with friends. Today we woke up after the blizzard and headed out to Sip coffee and cocktails to watch the world and enjoy life. What a clean, friendly atmosphere to enjoy time. We had a few different drink options and selected multiple drinks: house bloody Mary!, espresso martini, and B&G old fashioned. The cinnamon in the B&g was a very nice touch. The cherries are house made and out of this world. We also grabbed a couple of sandwiches that did NOT disappoint. That avocado bacon pickled onion on a cheese bagel combination is straight fire. The sausage egg with everything bagel is a solid choice. All ingredients are fresh and so many are house made. Great atmosphere to spend some time. Stop by and enjoy! Went here a couple of weeks ago. Alger Heights is an adorable neighborhood. The place is quaint and clean. The theme on that Friday mornings, and I'm assuming most Friday mornings, was families; lots of strollers and happy people drinking coffee. I had the oatmeal latte and an orange scone. The drink was not overly sweet and the scone was crumbly...in a good way. Both ladies were friendly. Haven't been in the evening since I no longer drink but I imagine the vibe is outstanding. read more

I love this place. It is one of my local haunts. The drink menu changes seasonally and the staff is amazing. It's quiet and calm during the day so great if you want to work and moody at night. Eliza and Brin are great workers and are so friendly/kind. I personally have yet to drink something I don't like. I'm really trying to like this place. But both times the service has been awful. Went first when it was fairly new so didn't want to be too harsh after a server forgot about us during the cocktail service. Gave it another go this month, but unfortunately ran into the exact same issue. The staff seems amazingly friendly and was apologetic after having us wait 20 minutes before even getting our order, but somehow it managed to get worse. A table behind us was served and cashed out in half the time we were there. We went intending for just a quick drink at night time when there were only a few other tables out, but it turned into an hour and a half endeavor. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt knowing that it seemed like they were short staffed and doing a lot of juggling. I was really hoping these kinks would be worked out by now. I'm giving 3 stars as I feel like it still has a lot going for it, but just really hoping service can get a bit more consistent. read more
