She took her time to think and pull dresses I didn't even ask to see, as well as variations of ones I liked. The pillow she puts into the dress so you can see what you will look like (genius). I went to 5 stores before this one and noone did that! 3rd: She didn't stop at the dress, she put on belts, veils, whatever you wanted or was thinking she worked with it. I felt like I was on princess diaries as she transformed my look and made me feel like we will get there. 4th: I think we tried over 15 dresses on and then tried on my top 2 favorites again. She never bat an eye about that and was encouraging. I SAID YES TO THE DRESS! 5th: The bag they give you when you purchase your dress, cherry on top! Truly so special. As I drove home I couldn't help but wish I went to Lilys Bridal first but I do believe everything happens for a reason and I found Kim at the right time in my process.

The person brought me clothes without asking my sizes, and shockingly none of them fit. They gave me shoes that were literally disintegrating as I put them on. The shirts were stained and not white anymore, by any means. The jacket they had me try on didn't even have buttons on the front. How am I supposed to be instilled with confidence that you will send me something better than this crap for my wedding? No thank you.

So We were little weary coming here because we had tried the Black Tux in Montgomery Mall and their customer service was awful I had to literally signal someone that I was there after waiting for over an hour. But I digress... Today My fiancé worked with Malik and he was great! Very attentive from start to finish. He was focused on getting us everything needed and although they were busy he made sure my fiancé was well attended to. We never felt like he was secondary to anyone and we were actually able to get some great insight and a very stylish suit! It was great and we would def come back. And I only gave it 4/5 because we wish they had a bigger selection of bow ties and a few more options for shoes.

This is a shop that can satisfy the needs of the hipster who needs to dress up his retro a little bit, along with young professionals who want some classic flair. Yes, you can wear a tweed jacket over raw-selvedge denim jeans and make it look good. The shop's got a good selection of both new and old, the buying for vintage clothes is done well, and prices are very reasonable. If you wanna class up your act a little bit without breaking the bank, guys - this is a good place to stop. It's a little bit rockabilly, a little bit Mad Men, and a little bit Animal Collective. Enjoy.

Hampden doesn't really have any other mens clothing stores (except thrift shops) so its a great addition to the neighborhood. Think of it like the sister...er..brother store to Double Dutch. Sixteen Tons also carries other man-gifts like wallets, cologne, belts, ties, hats, etc. The clothing can be quite pricey, depending on the item, but I did recently notice a sale bin! It's difficult for me to get my boyfriend to step into an actual store, or buy something vintage ("If its used, should it be cheaper?"), so its best that I come here alone and bring back what he doesn't want. I always end up asking a bunch of questions when I'm here- usually about sizing. When the owner is in the shop, he is warm and super friendly and helpful. There is another employee who always seems annoyed that I have the nerve to ask about an item; I really can't take that type of attitude. Customer service, man! I'm hesitant to dock Sixteen Tons a star because of this one guy's attitude. The owner has true vision and really caters to his clientele. He has helpful tips (more ties coming in next week!), good suggestions (how about a cool vintage belt for the guy who has everything?) and asks the right questions to really try to understand who you're buying for. He should pass these skills on to his employees!
