This bakery is outstanding!!! There are soooo many options. From cookies to cakes, cinnamon rolls and freshly baked pies, cupcakes, cake balls, beautiful macaroons, several flavors of bars. I was so impressed. Everyone working was very kind, friendly and attentive. The building was tucked away but so bright and inviting once you came in! It was a 3 hour drive from my house but I may have to go back soon!

Sugar Shack came highly recommended from my sister in law. My daughter graduated from high school in Wisconsin. It was easier to host a 2nd party in Iowa for my family than to expect them to make a trip to Wisconsin. Sugar Shack didn't disappoint! The cake was EXACTLY as requested and was incredibly delicious. If you don't mind paying more for their craftsmanship, it well worth the price. I HIGHLY recommend!

Sugar Shack is always great. Hands down the best place to get fancy cakes and treats in Sioux City. From wedding cakes to speciality cakes (german chocolate, red velvet etc) they have it all. And they always have a variety of cookies, bars and flavored cupcakes ready to go if you need an afternoon snack. And now they have added fancy donuts which is awesome!

These folks saved the day! They were able to put a cake together, last minute, and deliver it to my aunt, 30 miles away, on her Birthday. They went so far as to send me a photo of the cake prior to delivering it to her. I live out of state and found out that my aunt's birthday celebration had to be cancelled due to a covid exposure, so when I say they saved the day, I truly mean it. If you're ever in a bind (or not) use this bakery. Their customer service is unparalleled. read more

By far best sugar cookies I've ever had and I love sugar cookies! Great small business that works hard to create fresh flavorful and customized treats (cookies, cakes and other sweet treats). This place has fantastic baked goods but it if it bothers you that they wear ZERO MASKS and ZERO GLOVES while handling your food I'd suggest this isn't the place to go. No Covid it's a 5 Star but food handling YIKES!! read more

Their cookies are fantastic, but I got a chocolate birthday cake with just a generic decoration on it. The frosting smelled really strong of chemicals i think. Tasted bad. Tasted like it smelled. Ate some of the chocolate cake without the frosting, and couldn't taste the chocolate. Cake is going in the garbage. I gave them 2 stars because their cookies are fantastic, but the cake was gross. read more

the cupcakes are the best so far, hands down. All of their cookies are delish...and unique bars and chocolate creations....this place has A LOT to offer at a fair price. Well worth the drive of 4+ hours and we will be back! read more

This is the best bakery in Sioux City. The cookies and cupcakes are amazing the cake clouds are the best. The cakes are works of art they are beautifully done and taste amazing. I have never had bad service the people are friendly. Suger shack is just amazing place with amazing people. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Sugar Shack. It takes all my will power and more to not buy 6 extra treats when I am in there picking up my order. The smell when you open the front door is enough to add 5 lbs to me. Seriously though, the cakes are beautiful and they taste even better. The cookie bouquets always bring a smile. We have used them for parties and they are so friendly to work with. read more

A nice find in the small city. Came in for a couple snacks for the road and loved them! I got a red velvet with white chocolate chip cookie and hand made caramels. While it was tasty, I would likely choose a different cookie next time. The caramels though were PERFECT!! And only 3 for $1. They also have a small selection of gluten free options. I kinda wish they also had some dairy-free or vegan options. read more

Amazing custom cakes! I recently had a short notice request for a baptism cake since we had traveled in from out of town. We ordered a white two layer 8 inch round cake with strawberry filling. The cake was very moist and the icing was perfect. The staff was very courteous with our short notice request and they did not disappoint. I would recommend the Sugar Shack for all of your custom cake requests. I hope we have the opportunity to indulge when we are in town again. Thank you Sugar Shack!! read more

Used to love their cakes and gave them a lot of business. I now refuse to go there because of the way the staff treats the customers. They are so rude to everyone that walks in. Never smile or say thank you! Bad customer service! read more

There's smaller quantities on sale too if you don't want to go all in. There's a museum-type area in the back where they show the old candy machine that fueled the original candy shop, and a TV showing how the candy was produced. Of course, the production is now modernized. There's a large bulk section for candies, and a candy counter. The service I received in the shop was impeccable. If I'm ever back in town, I'll make sure to diet a bit before returning to this shop. It is excellent.

They had a great variety of merchandise ranging from Rainbow Brite to Christmas ornaments and other things. And the service has always been exceptional. I was planning to buy a Rainbow Brite and Twink Christmas ornament as a gift for one of my sisters for her upcoming birthday in the next three months, which is set to be released ten days after the 4th of July this year, but now with this particular location closed (which is in a shopping center closest to my house), I'll be buying it online instead.
