i visited this location twice because there were many things on the menu i wanted to try! If only i had the time to go a third time on my trip! Tiramisu cold brew was good only i wish i had a little more cream to make the drink sweeter because i personally didn't think it to be sweet. Dalandan cold brew was interesting. Almost tasted like juice. Ube pancakes and the espresso caramel pancakes were good! I like that there was a half order option. The corned beef skillet was good but just wished there was more meat and potatoes because it was a lot of cheese lol. My brother really liked the burger! Out of all the dishes though, I liked the tapsilog the best, can never go wrong with that! The servers sweet but it's a small cafe and it gets a little busy later in the morning. I hope to come back soon to try their grilled cheese sandwiches!
Ube was the jam (puns ) in 2022-23! I've had my share of OG ube and all the latest trendy takes on ube, particularly pancakes.. and of course.. traveling all the way to the Philippines.. Sunny Side takes the (pan)cake on having the most amazing ube pancakes I have had in my entire Filipino life. My cousin picked this place because we shared that we wanted to eat ube pancakes. Little did I know there were 2 locations. Ended up walking about 20 min from d Mall to get here (and of course it was the wrong location as my family was at the Station 1 location) but it was okay. We arrived around 8 am which was still early enough to get a table for 5 right away. I did not realize how busy or much of a talk of the country this breakfast spot was until I saw all the cool quotes and recognition on the walls and also saw the wait forming outside. Their menu is filled with so many delicious takes on traditional Filipino breakfast fused with other flavors to enhance. Their pancakes are Japanese style. Both the original and the ube were AMAZING! I highly recommend splitting an order. It also tastes great the next day reheated (ask your hotel to microwave it). I also enjoyed their takes on lattes and coffee. I opted for their chorizo dish with rice and egg. It was filling and very tasty. Service is very good and attentive. The place is small so get here early. The views are awesome and overall a place I would have breakfast at daily while in Boracay.
Portions were generous and food was quite good. I don't know what kind of bacon they use for the Bacon and Mango Grilled Cheese, but it was definitely more like pork belly. It made the sandwich heavy, but the flavor was interesting. Ube pancakes were ginormous, super filling, and soft. The horchata was okay, not the best I've ever had.
Hands down, best food to be had in Boracay! Came here yesterday for a late lunch and back again for another round of lunch just now. Portions are huge, so make sure to ask if the order is for one person or two. Yesterday, my husband ordered their "kitayama beef tapsilog; I ordered "bacon & mango grilled cheese" - posting a picture of this. Definitely, two people can eat this. It was served with a thick slab of bacon, topped with mozzarella cheese & thin slices of crispy "sweet potato hay". Was delicious!! Served on two slices freshly baked toast. Just ordered "aburi aligot corned beef now. Posting pics as soon as they serve us. So so so good & worth the $$$
Wished I am a big eater to have room for more food so I can try other dishes. Just mean I'll have to be back to Boracay. Ube pancakes - WOW. two of the fluffiest pancakes in the world topped with ube sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Amazing combo. Texture, flavor and hot/cold combo in your mouth, just WOW. topsilog rice plate - comes with their rice and two sunny side up eggs. Another amazing combo. The yolk of the eggs helps the saltiness is the meat. And the rice just tames it all. Soo good. Summer salad - lettuce, mango, dressing and just fresh goodness. Refreshing on such a warm day. Vietnamese iced coffee- isn't like it at all but still creamy and flavorful with a foam topper. And anything cold is perfect for the warm weather.
Before I write this review, I gotta high five every yelper who contributes because you guys help narrow down a good spot when you have a limited time to explore. Y'all have helped out so much in every country I've been to so far. Y'all def led me down the right path this time around here in Boracay As much as I love the typical Filipino breakfast of garlic rice and longanisa/tocino, I was craving something different for once. Something new and exciting yet uniquely Filipino. I knew I was in the right place when a quick skim through the menu left me with no less than 10 items I wanted to immediately order. Blanco adobo?? Every single grilled cheese sandwich?? WONUTS (waffle donuts)... UBE PANCAKES... heck ALL the pancakes.... pork belly sammich. I'll stay a whole week in boracay just to try all of this. This is getting long so I'll cut to the chase. They say the bacon mango jam grilled cheese sandwich is their best seller. GET THIS. I always argue with myself when it comes to what's more important in a grilled cheese sandwich, the cheese or the bread. The clear answer here is the bread. The thick slices have the perfect crunch. And the bacon slathered with mango jam go perfectly together. Pancakes - they come in two per order so you can mix and match. The number one photo that sent me to this restaurant was the Ube pancake so you're dang right if you think we ordered it. Also got the mango pancake. The table was split between which one was better, but everyone did like both. The pancakes are dense yet fluffy. I loved the Ube. Only gripe is that I wanted more Ube to go with the pancake. Mango had a lighter flavor. You can definitely share this with a table of 4 as an appetizer. Or dessert. Next time I'd like to try their wonuts. And maybe the dark chocolate grilled cheese sandwich. And I'm curious about their soy-sauce free adobo (sounds blasphemous but I'm morbidly curious). Can't wait to visit Boracay again!!

This was amazing! I checked yelp reviews and also Pinterest with both having high ratings. My teenagers and my parents loved the local adobo, waffles and when we saw the grilled cheese, we decided we're going back tomorrow for that! It was a bit of a walk but everyone said it was worth it and their favorite restaurant in Boracay! read more

Right on the beach with indoor & outdoor seating. The menu is extensive and the portions are big. Everything is made fresh there including the bread. This is literally one of the best places we visited during our stay in Boracay. The staff was so accommodating and polite. The food was absolutely amazing! We ended up returning multiple times during our trip to try out other items on the menu and they were all delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. So good! read more

Found this breakfast/cafe spot, when taking a walk towards Station 2. Menu looked good and we decided to come in the next morning for breakfast. Good coffee, a regular coffee would be called a "pour over" I guess they make each coffee to order, even if it is just a cup of coffee; it was freshly brewed and very drinkable. Staff here, like all of the wait staff in the Philippines is very friendly and attentive; but never obtrusive. Hubby had the Chorizo and eggs (the Chorizo was more like a breakfast sausage) a nice change from the usual offerings of Longaniza. I went with the Tapsilog. Both dishes were well prepared and tasted delish. We shared the bread basket of freshly baked breads and the wonderful Calamansi Custard Spread - WOW, this stuff was amazing the best I could possibly describe it as a cross between key lime and lemon curd, I wished I could have taken some home, but it had to be refrigerated. The spread alone is worth it's weight in gold, one of those things that I absolutely love about travelling and eating - knowing that there is only one place in the world that can make something so good. read more

Good choice for an all-day breakfast cafe. We tried their ube pancake - fluffy mound of pancake drizzled with rich ube cream and ube bits and topped with vanilla ice cream. Servings are huge so eat only when hungry, or order to share. read more
Simply the best food on the island. I know, you are on an island you want to eat local food at a local spot. Not some place that's right on the main strip, but this is different. It's so good, the flavors, presentation and service. The price is still cheap as well! If it's not in season they don't have it and I liked that about them. They had a good menu that had options and of course juices. There are expensive places on the main strip and then you can go off and get really authentic, our stomachs weren't ready for that yet. We enjoyed the healthy and light food that this place offered. read more

We had to try this place, since we'd heard such good things about it. Well, it definitely delivered. First off- the portions not just generous, they're huge! There were four of us eating breakfast and we had enough to left over to feed a few more. They call it "American" portions. I had an excellent veggie omelet with cheese and some fruit on the side. Thinking that half an order of pancakes would be doable, I innocently ordered it to go along with my omelet. (I've included a picture of the pancakes.) They talked me into trying just one of each of my favorite choices, since I wouldn't be back anytime soon, I went for it... one apple crunch and one mango. My, oh my! One of those plate-sized beauties would have done me in, even without my omelet! Delicious! The others in our group ordered the chocolate oatmeal, since they were doing egg and gluten-free. They enjoyed their meals and couldn't quite finish the giant bowl full. I'd love to go back, try one of their salads or other lunch menu items and take in the view one more time. read more
Great Place for Breakfast and Lunch. The quality of the Food is very well. Everything is fresh and is made with passion. We tried serveral places and this place is one of my favourites. Also the portion is more than enough. Highly recommended. read more

This place is so good. Servings are generous. You only need the half order of the pancake, it is huge. I wish I had more time in Boracay to eat here twice. The grilled cheese with mango AND Bacon...amazing. The mac n cheese was great. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Sunnyside Cafe on our last day in Boracay. We were starving, so we decided to order a lot of food...their food portions are HUGE! We got the grilled cheese (the size of my face literally) which comes with sweet potato shreds and tomato soup. We also got shrimp and corn chowder, ube pancake which comes with ice cream and mango shake. You can get a half order of the pancake (which comes with one instead of two pancakes), and the shakes come with the option of putting the sugar in the shake or on the side. Their coffee is unlike any other and are unique. The service is also top notch. Julie took care of us today and made amazing suggestions. We didn't need to ask for anything, our minds we're literally read and needs met. Must try!! O read more

The best food on Boracay! Actually, the best food I've ever eaten in the entire country; and I've visited the Philippines too many times to remember (like 10-20 times). On this trip we ate at Sunny Side every day for a week; sometimes more than once a day! The mango bacon grilled cheese is the best dish on the menu. We also loved the shakshuka, the chorizo mac & cheese, the chocolate rice porridge, the mango cream French toast, the chorizo burger, the apple crumble pancakes, the mint calamansi shake, the potato Rosti, the Piripiri pulled pork Benedict, the chocolate waffle donuts, the thin crust pizza, the COFFEE -- oh my, this is surely the best coffee in the Philippines. And we are coffee snobs from Melbourne. They even serve Australian style flat whites. Thi café is amazing. read more
