Sunset Grille is a great little local bar serving really good food off a somewhat limited menu. That's fine with me because you don't have to do a lot if you do it well. IMO the Burgers & Tater Tots are great. They use high quality beef and will cook the generous sized patties anyway you like them, including medium rare. They have an energetic staff and service is friendly. The patio/deck is nice, but smoking is allowed and it can be overwhelming for NON-Smokers. They have multiple HDTVs and a pool table inside. The best part is, we always seem to meet fun people at the bar. They are consistently offering coupons in the ValPac and are also participating in www.DineDealer.com. Parking is somewhat limited at the end of the center, but there are usually extra spots beside the storage warehouse on the west side. read more

This is right down the street from my house, so the wife and I stopped in to get a drink one night and some apps. Oops! It's a neighborhood kinda place in the back corner of a strip mall, it's small, they have maybe two TVs, (and therefore NOT a sports bar) they have alcohol, (which is good for a bar) and they have a West-facing patio to view the sunset. Food wasn't that great either. If you want a place to go to drown your sorrows alone or where everyone there (the three people in the bar) knows each other except you, this is your place. This is a real locals place. As a newbie, the vibe was a bit tense trying to fit into a place where everyone knows everyone! The bartenders are simply adorable. The owner was working her tail off and flashing her killer smile to everyone. We had a "tiny beer" shot that was so yummy, I can still remember how delicious it was! Great bar food! Cool music selections in the box! Just be careful, if people hate your tunes, you'll hear about it. I always love going to Sunset, and have supported them through COVID. They have an awesome, hard working waitstaff, and decent food. But the other night was ridiculous. The waitress we had did not wear a mask and seemed to have no awareness of even decent distance while serving at our table. Many patrons did not follow the mask rule (though the sign out front states a mask is required) and it was far too crowded. I won't be back until I feel safer. I came into this place to watch a CU football game. I just moved into the area. Not a friendly place. Service is poor too. It's glaringly obvious they are content with a regular crowd and don't care if they make more money with new customers. Believe me, this is not an exaggeration. I waited 12 minutes to get served on and I had to ask for a drink and was hit with attitude. Bartender walked around with my menu in hand and talked to regulars for about 5minutes. I like this place a lot - really the only true "dive bar" in the area. Nice selection of beers on tap and the food is surprisingly decent - and the burgers are beyond decent. I like the vibe - but it really isn't a place to take the family - this is a place to hang out with the guys (or girls) and have a few beers in an adult setting. I drive by Sunset to work from Highlands Ranch and decided to try it. The best way I can describe it is the bar from "Cheers". By my second visit everybody knew my name! You would think the food would be just "bar food", but I have been impressed by the quality, selection and price. Needless to say-I am now a regular. See you there. What it is: A good place to watch sports, hang out with friends, drink, get some decent food, play some pool or Golden Tee, listen to music and generally have a good time. What it is not: A disco. Friend and I went there for lunch 2 days ago. We were told the lunch "special" was a Philly cheese steak. We both ordered it. It was almost laughably bad. The tiny "sandwich" consisted of a rock hard roll, with a little dried up "beef" inside. No onions, green peppers or white provolone like you would expect. It had NOTHING in it! It did have this yellow cheese like substance on top that the waitress called "beer sauce". Upon further inspection, I noticed that it was the exact same fake cheese product Arby's puts on their Beef and Cheddar sandwich. It was complete crap. It reminded me of one of those hideous school lunches you got at the high school cafeteria. $12 for that piece of garbage. Never again! read more

The first time we visited here the bartender (long dark hair) was so rude and condescending, we stayed for one drink and left. We returned last night at 10:00 pm and the minute we stepped in the door she says they've already done last call. At 10:00 pm? It says you're open until 2? I mostly hang out at Sunset because of the service, the bartenders are awesome. They always remember my drink of choice, and are always in for a good conversation. A great place to watch any sporting events, though it gets crowded fast! And, surprisingly, the food is pretty good. The mussels? Holy cow, are they amazing! Who would've thought. Well, I thought I had found a place close to home that I would be a regular. I have gone there numerous times and mostly enjoyed it. Prices are ok. The food isn't bad for bar food. Most of the other reviews are spot on. But one thing that really just causes me to not want to go back is being nickel and dimed so much. You are charged for every little container of salsa, dressing, etc. To me, that does not say that my business is appreciated. The final straw was buying chips and salsa and expecting it to be unlimited chips and salsa. Is that unreasonable? And that was with a meal. The atmosphere is very laid back and pleasant. The waitstaff is usually nice. I understand that maybe to most this is silly. But being nickel and dimed like that is one of those little things that just bothers me to where I really do not want to go back. I would prefer to go somewhere where my business feels appreciated. read more

Have to agree with other posts about the rude service and "regulars", which consisted of AGING RACIST A-HOLES, loud and not very friendly. The bartenders absolutely cater to the regulars and could care less about other paying customers. Horrible! Worst bar/restaurant experience we've had in years. Service was horrible. Had to ask and ask again for everything. Took 20 to 25 minutes to flag the waitress down do order food after she dropped off menus and got our beer order. And this was on a Sunday at around 4:30. Waitress never once followed up to see if we needed anything and when I stepped to the bar to get some extra condiments and some tortilla chips for my wife, she got visibly pissed. Trust me when I say I was very nice about it. I'm 50 years old and I always error on the side of letting things go. So when she finally brought the condiments she literally dumped them on the table without making eye contact. The wife had to flag her down again to get the tortilla chips and she literally turned and walked away from the table. Will never step foot in there again. read more

Okay, it's not easy to find a parking place if you get there late. That's because it's patrons are mostly all known to one another and they get there early and hog the parking. But, if you are willing to walk a bit, you can usually find a spot. When you get in there, trust the folks about the food reviews who say it's actually way beyond average bar food. These regulars go there for the good company and the varied food choices. Sometimes I only go there to find my miscreant husband, but everyone acts like they are glad to see me, so I usually wind up staying and slamming down a couple beers myself.
