This is one of those hidden-in-plain-sight gems. It's easy to drive past it when you're looking for a great meal, but don't. Every time we visit we are never disappointed. And the last time, was no exception. I went and skeptically tried their Italian beef. This isn't Chicago, so finding a good Italian beef sandwich has been an adventure, and often a disappointment. We stopped into the Castle Bar + Grill recently. The burger pics were the hook that brought us in. And, to be fair, our meal looked pretty good. Everything just needed some seasoning. Some folks like things bland. We aren't those people. And, to be fair, as we say at the bar and watched orders come out, it was fairly clear over time, that one guy was cooking and expo'ing - he also brought out the orders. That's a lot for one dude. Kudos to him. Adding salt and pepper, seasoning the patties and grilling the BLT toast would raise this rating quick. Easy fixes are always the best. Ambiance? Def a bar feel. Nothing special. Felt a little bland with theme. Maybe bring the "castle" inside? So much you could do inside with the decor (or lack thereof). That aside, it was cool to se the walls of beer mugs. Will we be back? The blue cheeseburger was just right -fries were a disappointment, but the breaded mushroom appetizer really hit the spot! Staff is very friendly and attentive, and food came very quickly - served directly by the chef. Walked into the Castle today 4th of July hoping that they had BBQ, yes and so good !!!! Service was friendly and fast . Our Bartender Scooter/Walker did a fantastic job running the entire bar by himself ! It was very busy for just one employee. All things considered he did well and its people like him that make us want to come back I have been in the industry for 37 years and if I would have been all alone running the place, I think I would have walked out the door . It's stressful it's hard work and nobody should have to be thrown into the fire like that ! Please give the bartender some kudos and huge thank you for making it all a fantastic experience! I was here about the great burgers at the castle so I had to go and try them out. I had the barbecue burger and was pretty happy with it overall. Service was also good and friendly. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the fact that there's really nobody working the door so if the place is full, you just have to hang out and then try to snag a table when somebody leaves. read more

Looks nice, parking a little difficult. Open space and a pool table. BBQ Fridays. Looks good! We asked about appetizers and upon recommendation got the nachos with ground beef. These were very good - I think we ran out of chips before finishing all the toppings, always a good sign, and we were scraping the last bits off. I ordered the McCastle (Big Macish). I got it medium rare (impossible on a Big Mac), with onions and tomatoes, no pickles. I got the fried and a side of their Colorado Gold BBQ to dip the fries. The fries and BBQ were good. The burger was very messy, but very good. There were a few bites that were extra salty from the burger I think, but it was good. I meant to eat only half (it's a half pound burger), but it was falling apart towards the end, so I just ate it all! My friend didn't used to like Reuben sandwiches, until he had one I made (my kitchen is 4-5 stars ), and he wanted to try their Reuben. It was on marbled rye and the bread was a normal size, but it looked too thin for a good Reuben to me. I asked him and he opened it up and said it seemed to be missing something - and the stuff missing was (in my opinion) more corned beef and more sauerkraut. It had some of each, but it looked pretty sparse to me. The waitress stopped by and asked how our food was, and I literally asked her if his sandwich had the "normal" amount of stuff in it. She said it did, but asked if he wanted something else instead. He kept it and rated it overall 3 stars. The restaurant had plenty of space - it looks bigger than it is, and it felt nice inside. They had TVs with different sports on, and my friend could see the football game he wanted from our table. They had a single pool table that would be nice to try. They didn't have hard cider on tap, but had a couple options in bottles and served with a glass. The wait staff was very friendly, and visited the table frequently. LOVE this place! My boyfriend got me hooked to the small & cute ambiance of this place. One of our fav things about this bar is the cheap pool option ($1, 4 quarter slot machine) and it's usually always open & available but... There's only 1 pool table though, so you may end up waiting for a second, but in the meantime they have great food options & some great beer! They also have karaoke nights and it's such a fun & great atmosphere in general with clean single bathrooms & clean seating areas with a bar area. I come on Tuesday when they have a buy one get a half off burger deal. Super cheap for a proper burger. This place is packed and not a lot of seats open over a lunch hour. That's always a good sign. I've gotten a hamburger and a patty melt. I didn't dig their version of a patty melt but it was still great. Fresh came out fast, fries are super good. Atmosphere is perfect lil dive bar. The Food at The Castle is almost always way above par. Kudos to the cooking staff! The atmosphere is standard for a neighborhood pub, sometimes loud and raucous, but mostly a strong vibe of friends enjoying themselves and the food and bevs. The service is also, normally above par. I would give 5 stars to food and service, but the ambiance gets a 3 star review when the entire party (of 10) is swatting flies away from their food the entire time and a bartender comes out with a Bug Assault rifle (a salt shooter) to kill them all around us... It was a bit off-putting and distasteful to have the flies, but was kinda gross to have them obliterated with high-powered salt crystals right next to our table and all around us (about 35 or so flies were witnessed to be executed). The guests in our party who had never been to the place before were not likely to return, even though they liked their food. The rest of us regulars were a little more understanding and will return, but some were still grossed out. ADVICE: Get your pest control under control and you will be a 5-star experience once again. read more

We have been coming here for almost 5 years and we can't rave more about the food and service! The staff is always attentive, kind and friendly. We had an uncomfortable situation recently. we have two kids under 4. We recently were there when a guy was very vocal about being frustrated that a family was at a bar. This place barely meets the 4 star mark. And it's all because of it's cleanliness. It's okay in the dining area but oh goodness the bathroom. It's so confined in there and quite filthy. Can't take a dump in there. Otherwise, it's got charm for a dive bar. Pictures all around, a play area (pool, darts, and a golf game), old fashioned furniture, I like it. The service was friendly and came often. I observed them to be pretty social and real with other folks. I got the french dip and it was delicious. The combination of the au jus and the horseradish sauce lets the sandwich burst with a load of flavors. The fries were crispy and kind of crunchy too. No problems with that. In a normal year Castle Bar & Grille would get an easy four stars. We had great food (huge burgers no kids menu). Sure they don't have colorado draft beer but their mass market beer list is pretty deep. We had no problems with service. The issues we had were the fact that this bar just didn't take the pandemic seriously. Employees were not wearing masks (except the waitress) and if you decide to be safe and eat outside you were bombarded with smokers. I will try Castle Bar & Grille if it survives the pandemic. . .but I certainly won't go back until this pandemic is over - because getting sick of Cronovirus as a side dish isn't something I want. read more
