Went to Wilstem Ranch for my birthday today and followed up at Superburger because of so many good reviews. Not impressed. They get a star for the nice staff working and a star for their great cottage cheese, but the burger was dry and the cheese was like an afterthought. I got the Jr. Cheeseburger with cottage cheese, husband got the double bacon burger and fried mushrooms. He said the mushrooms were good, but only ate about half the burger because it wasn't great. We visited Superburger as passing through town. The small restaurant is clean. We ordered at the counter. Our order consisted of the superburger, grilled chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries and coleslaw. We were the only customers in the restaurant and our food took well over 20 minutes for our order. The chicken sandwich was very thin and overcooked. The grilled portion was so tough I was unable to chew it. The burger is 1/4 lb. served on a huge bun and wasn't anything special. Both orders of our sweet potato fries were over cooked and not hot when we received them. The cole slaw was ok but the portion was very small for the price. We spent over $30 and left hungry. This is a great little place to stop during our road trip. They have a big menu aside from just burgers. I tried the tenderloin and it was huge. Definitely a proper Indiana tenderloin because the meat was twice the diameter of the bun. Very good. The boys had burgers and my wife had the patty melt. We were headed back to Louisville today after visiting Wilstem and we're looking for something different for lunch. Superburger seemed like a cool local place to check out and it did not disappoint! I had the double burger with cheese and a side of cheese fries, my mom had the bacon burger, and my kids had a grilled cheese and chicken nugget kids meal. Everything Came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The burgers were very tasty and my mom was very pleased that the bacon was nice and crispy! I enjoyed the coating on the fries and the cheese sauce on them was delicious as well. Both kids loved their meals also and have already asked to go back if we're in the area again! The kids also got to get ice cream after lunch and they were in heaven! I tasted my daughter's Mint Chocolate Chip and it was excellent! Everything was also very affordable. It was only about $30 for the 4 of us to eat lunch including the ice cream for dessert! The service was wonderful as well. Very friendly and very attentive with refills. When you visit Paoli, don't expect much. It's a small little town about 2 hours south of Indy. There's slim pickings for places to eat, and everywhere is full of locals. I went to Paoli to visit a friend who recommended we eat at Superburger which was her families favorite place. I arrived before her and of course received looks from the locals, but the staff was friendly. They asked if I'd been there before and proceeded to explain how the place was run. You order and pay at the counter with everything ale carte and then they bring it to your table. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries with a drink, which came to about $8-9. All of thier meat is locally sourced, but as far as the flavor I didn't notice any difference. It wasn't anything spectacular to me. It just tasted like a cheeseburger and fries. They have plenty of parking and a larger room in the back to accomodate parties. There are a couple TVs mounted on the walls and a variety of options from the menu. I discovered it by doing a internet search for "best burger in Indiana" The Superburger was listed as one or two on three of those lists and God bless, less than 15 miles from me. Their burgers are 100% top notch and not expensive. These are basically smash burgers. You can taste the high quality of meat they use. I am going through their menu. Everything so far is excellent. Their onion rings are about the best I have ever eaten and I'm a old dude. Tonight I got a double cheese burger and a sloppy joe (just to try out) OUTSTANDING! these guys do a hell of a job. Next trip I am, gonna get their RibEye sandwich. I will keep you posted. But all that aside if you live or are traveling through, you are doing yourself a disservice by not trying this place. They charge $ .50 for water . They don't post the charge on their menu and when they ask you what you want to drink , if you say water they sneak a $ .50 charge on your bill . They don't tell you they are charging you for water and I bet most people never notice the charge . After all who charges for water !! $ .50 today and before long $2.. . they will do with water what they have done with soda , give you $ .30 worth and charge 5 to 10 times profit .I just happen to ask if their was a water charge and when they said $ .50 i cancelled my order and left . My wife and I done a pick-up order on our way to patoka lake. We used to eat here often but not after this Order both of our tenderloins was over cooked and had a burnt taste to them. My side order of cheese balls had broccoli or something mixed in with it. I called and explained that our sandwiches was burnt and was told "well I'm the one that cooked them and that's just how the breading is because theyre raw meat we have to cook them that way" I have honestly have had better from from gas stations. Wasn't trying to get a refund or anything was just wanting to let them know it was burnt. I've been going there since it was bob's Super burger.
