Wow. This is a damn good burger! Just named best burger on that "Best of Kentucky" list in my Nolin RECC "magazine", so my friend wanted to try this place out. I was a little dubious about the whole best burger thing as I've been to a few of the past winners, and they were very disappointing. I don't know if it's the best burger in Kentucky but it's definitely in my top 3 burgers I've ever eaten. It's a small quaint little restaurant, a little dark in the front but lit up in back. There's not much seating, a counter at the front window and 3 booths, and a few small tables in the back so assume most people take out. The staff was friendly and greeted us as we walked in. The menu is small which is fine as the main attraction is the burger and they do it very well. They have a grilled a chicken burger, chicken rings and a veggie burger if beef doesn't interest you, but then what's the point? We both got the Bardstown burger, which has grilled onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, mayo and bacon though they forgot the bacon, still the first bite of this burger was sublime. The burger was smaller than your typical gourmet burger but was well seasoned and very juicy. The grill onions, mushrooms, cheddar, mayo just added to that delicious beefiness of the burger. You can make your own burger and they have two other signature burgers. The fries and onion rings were crispy and piping hot, nothing special, just good sidekicks to their super burgers. read more

Expectations need to be tempered down when visiting this spot. It's good for what it is, a basic no-frills burger spot for a quick bite to eat. The burger was tasty and full of toppings. I should have gotten a double (I know, I know, also get a double when its a smash burger). The fries were seasoned well but for the price, I was hoping for more. I also got a beer. Selection is limited but I'm sure you'll find something acceptable. There's seating in the front and back, so if its looks busy check the back. The ambiance is basic burger shop, nothing really to note. It's counter service so pretty basic there too. For a quick bite and to get a burger fix, this is a good place to stop. read more

OH YUM! We dropped in for lunch after walking around downtown. We were promptly greeted by the counter staff, who took our order and gave us a number. We both ordered their Bardstown single burger which features grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, bacon, mayo and cheddar cheese. It was freshly made, hot off the fryer, and the onions were grilled and soooo good. The burger was very tasty! The fries were hot and fresh. I had a Strawberry Shake, and that was tasty as well. My wife enjoyed her iced tea. Seating is available in the front, the side, and the back, and some outside seating is available in the back. I was just served a HAIR Burger when I ordered their Bardstown burger.... First bit and got several hairs that were cooked into the food that were 10-12 inches long!!! NO ONE around the food wears hairnets!!! When I took it to the counter the person from the back was called up (who I gareentee was the owner of the hair from the burger, so he must be a "manager" or something ), and he was quick to just say, " I will make you a new one"... This wasn't a 5 star experience but was pretty good. The hamburgers were a bit on the small size but tasty. Their definition of medium rare and mine differed, but given the size of the patty, it probably cooked fairly quickly. I ordered the Bardstown Burger and onion rings, it cost about $11. I thought the burger was juicy and delicious and the onion rings were very good! My husband built his own burger and ordered fries with a cup of cheese, the fries and cheese was so good...highly recommend! The restaurant seating looked slim but when you go in there are many more tables in the back and some outside. This is definitely a hidden gem! Kind of a hole in the wall place in the downtown Bourbon capital. You order at the register from a small menu and fountain drinks are available, including unsweet tea and sweet tea. You can eat outside out behind the building in the very cute little dining area or you can eat inside. Service was quick, the burgers were delicious, and it was just the right amount of food. While in Kentucky we visited the historic town of Bardstown, the Bourbon Capital of the world ! This is where Bardstown Burgers is located , known for their homemade burgers and milkshakes . After reading the great reviews for this burger place we just had to stop and check it out and we were so glad we did ! The menu is limited , with burgers being their main item , but they also have chicken sandwiches, fries, onion rings and a variety of drinks . The store is cute and rustic , it's fairly small with several tables and some counter seating . When you walk on through towards the back you will find another small section with seating and a cute outdoor patio . My husband ordered the Bardstown Burger with mushrooms, onions, bacon and cheddar and I had the Outlaw Burger with bacon , cheddar and BBQ sauce. We also had onion rings and Bourbon Ale The burgers were served on a metal tray along with the onion rings that were in a cute fry basket. The onion rings were light and crispy and the burgers were amazing , very well made , so flavorful and juicy! Check them out they have great service , reasonable prices and super delicious burgers! A small no frills burger joint serving Build Your own burgers,chicken sandwiches,BLT,a grilled cheese and a Veggie burger. I tried The Outlaw which was a burger topped with onion rings,bacon,cheddar and BBQ sauce. It was fantastic! My wife had the Spicy Chicken with Pepper Jack,bacon and Spicey Mayo. But that seems to be changing recently, as I've found several small places that can get my mouth watering when I think about them. My girlfriend and I realized we hadn't eaten on this day and it was 3:00 PM. The problem was we had 6:00 reservations for a fancy dinner train ride. We walked over and ordered at the counter. I will say the prices were very good here. $7.75 for a Double Cheese Burger. $2.50 for fries or onion rings. You're just not gonna find the quality for those prices. Our food come out pretty quickly and my burger was very tasty. The fries were crinkle cut which seems to be the way here but nice and crispy.
