From the beginning, the level of care has been exceptional. Every representative I've spoken to has treated me with the absolute best care from the ER to billing and every department in between. The consistency of professionalism and compassion across the board has truly stood out. During my stay in the Round Wing over the Christmas holiday on the 6th floor, my main nurses were absolutely amazing. They were attentive, compassionate, and went above and beyond during a very difficult time. Even when I had a small issue, it was handled quickly and professionally the supervisor had it addressed by the next morning without hesitation. That level of responsiveness and patient-centered care made a lasting impression. Every department I've interacted with has been organized, knowledgeable, and committed to doing things right. I'm grateful for the continued care I've received and will continue making the 2-hour drive each way to be treated at Vanderbilt because of the trust I have in their teams and the quality of care they provide.

She had become combative and they thought she might need her meds adjusted. When we first took her to st. Thomas she could walk and talk ( although didn't make much sense). She could feed herself and was continent. When we picked her up 3 weeks later she was completely and totally unresponsive. She had become incontinent and had list 15pounds during those 3 weeks. She was transferred back to the memory care unit with hospice. She received so much medication at the hospital she couldn't wake up at all! After returning to the memory care ( where she did not receive any medication) within about 4 days she began to respond. She did reach a point where she could take a few steps with assistance and pivot to a wheelchair. She had to be fed and never regained bladder or bowel control. She never got back to baseline. During the first 2 weeks we weren't allowed to visit. On the third week we could visit 1 hr a day but we were given in writing that we were not to ask the nurses about her condition. This hour was for visiting only. We could almost NEVER get to talk with any staff on the phone. I finally started calling at 4 in the morning to talk to a nurse. And nobody would call us back. It was awful. Come to find out she had a UTI which was probably why she was combative in the first place! If you can possibly avoid it don't send your love one there!

FULLY STOCKED, CAPABLE, AND EXCELLENTLY STAFFED EMERGENCY ROOM!…read moreI WAS SEEN & TAKEN TO MY PRIVATE ROOM IN UNDER 4 MINUTES! INSTANTLY MY CAREGIVER WAS IN AND CHECKING ME OUT (delaying the paperwork and insurance until the end of my visit); when this High Tech "George Jetson" Device, pictured Below, discreetly and swiftly gathered all of my Personal information. I was highly Impressed with the Many Tests they performed. An EEG, A Chest X-ray, throurough Body Exam, Temp, BP, Pulse, Oxygen levels, plus Breathing Treatments and more important things that I can't now Recall? My Final Diagnosis was my very 1ST COPD FLARE at a terrifying and dangerous level and They immediately Referred me to a Qualified Pulmonologist ASAP. Also Prescribed me my 3RD Btl of MEGA STRENGTH PRESCRIPTION COUGH SYRUP + A full Dose of ANTIBIOTICS + as Well as a full Dose of STEROIDS! OVERALL, I have NEVER BEEN TREATED SO PROFESSIONALLY AND THOROUGHLY, all in a very brief time span! I am beyond impressed with TRISTAR, [I will never bother or risk my health with the Subpar Treatment offered at WalkIn Clinics] I did remain quite ill with Continuing Bronchitis as well as a newer Upper Respiratory Bacterial Infection that hung w me for 22 straight days! I had to go through another 2 Full Rounds of ANTIBIOTICS plus another 2 FULL ROUNDS OF STEROIDS before I ever began to Clear Up. I have been Referred to a full fledged PULMONOLIGIST to find the real severity of all this.

I've used this hospital for the last 48 years (mainly since it's the closest to me)…read more I'll admit that in the distant past, I would have gone elsewhere for treatment, because there was a doctor in the ER who was pretty nasty, but since he left (about 10 years ago), they've improved tremendously. This hospital has literally saved my life on 3 separate occasions, twice for NMS (Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome), and more recently, for DKA (Diabetic Keto Acidosis). I didn't realize my glucose was so dangerously high (over 1300, with an A1C of 13+), and it wasn't until I woke from a coma hearing someone telling me to cough as they removed the breathing tube, that I realized I was so dangerously close to death. They told me I'd been on a ventilator the last 2 days, and when I was brought in by ambulance, I was as close to death as I could get without actually dying. It was so close, that if my husband had tried to get me there by car, I wouldn't have made it. I was in A-fib, and comatose. I was able to leave 3 days later. The care I received was excellent, the doctors and nurses courteous and attentive. My only gripe is that my PCP doesn't have privileges at this hospital.

I have personally been seen within the medical plaza and never had a bad experience, but I think that varies from practice to practice. They have a wide variety of medical practices on site in addition to the actual hospital and emergency room. Skyline Medical seems to have a rough wrap, so when my partner was recently recommended to have surgery here, we were both worried. However, we have been wildly impressed and thankful throughout the process. I will say that the process leading up to date of surgery was less than pleasant a due to miscommunications, rescheduling, and general confusion. But once we got him in, things have been great. The hospital is going through renovations, which is great to see. This has been a multi year project and they are making good progress. The hospital is in excellent condition, is updated and well taken care of. They have invested a lot and it is easily noticeable. The rooms are spacious and well outfitted. This hospital is keeping up with technology and design of today, and it shows in most places throughout the hospital. Dr. Marlar was professional, communicative and provided a sense of comfort before surgery. All the floor staff including housekeeping, culinary, techs and nurses have been wonderful, friendly and helpful! Desk staff around the hospital is hit and miss, but nothing terrible. Skyline Medical also has one of the only flight based medical teams in Nashville. This team is very busy as those helicopters stay on the move! They do have more food options than your normal hospital with a Subway, along with two food trucks and of course the cafeteria. If you choose the cafeteria, you already know what to expect. You are at a hospital, not a chef inspired restaurant. The hospital is clean and well taken care of. Overall, we are thankful to have Skyline Medical in the neighborhood. It's been a great experience.
