Everyone is always a fan of peanut brittle but cashews are far more flavorful and have a better texture than peanuts. When I tried a sample of Amy's California Cashew Brittle, I fell in love. The brittle has the perfect crunch - not too hard and not too soft. The cashews are fresh, plump & whole - not broken down pieces. I loved the buttery taste and consistency. California Cashew Brittle is the best brittle I've ever had. What I love about California Cashew Brittle the most is that there are no preservatives, it's always made fresh and it's made in a home kitchen. I recently discovered California Cashew Brittle at the "Savor the Central Coast Food & Wine Festival." It was quite the overwhelming scene with food and drink samples literally everywhere you looked. I would have never thought to stop for a sample of a cashew brittle, but low and behold the guy working there (I think his name was Pat or Matt??) called out to me and asked me to try a sample - of course, I obliged. It was love at first taste! As my mind was being blown, Pat/Matt explained to me that the cashew brittles were made fresh from scratch inside his home kitchen with all natural ingredients. I was actually holding a wine sample in my other hand (chardonnay) and the cashew brittle surprisingly paired exceptionally well with it!! There are 2 sizes of bags that you can buy, but they can do custom sizes and orders as well. These are perfect for the upcoming holiday as stocking stuffers or for any other occasion as well. Turns out, Pat/Matt is a Lakers fan just like me, which made it an easy decision for me to place an order on the spot for my holiday party. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Nothing says "Central Coast" like Susie Q's Brand of seasoning…read more I was born and raised in California, the Central Coast (don't hate me) and I have fond memories of Santa Maria tri tip barbeque in every parking lot in Santa Maria. It is a staple there, believe me. Tri tip is cooked on an open flame, where they are on a grate that you lower up and down on the pit, preferably fired up red oak for a smoky flavor. It's been a tradition since the 19th century and originates from the ranchers hosting feasts from their vaqueros. Susie Q's is a blend of garlic, salt, parsley and pepper, and myself and family of origin brought this delight here to Reno with us when we moved here in the 90's. We refresh our supplies when we visit the Central Coast, and for times in between, we order from the Susie Q's website. In fact, I loaded up just recently and love to give it out as Christmas gifts. You can use this seasoning for anything, meats, vegetables.. mixed it in olive oil and you have a nice dip for your French bread. Susie Q's also sales pinquito beans, which are native to the Central Coast of California. It is a small round bean and is always a compliment to Santa Maria BBQ with a side salad, salsa and bread.
