It's Christmas and this See's location is fully stocked and has plenty employees. I was greeted at the door and offered a sample caramel patty (my favorite!). There was a full selection of pre-packaged boxes, wrapped and ready to go. Also, a separate register to handle the extra crowds who just wanted to grab some boxes and go. (Unlike Pismo Beach.). Went in tonight and had the nicest worker help us, her name was Thalia. She was patient and answered all our questions and didn't mind I did different bags and multiple gift cards. There was a handful of people in the store another lady was there and just walked gave candy didn't say anything and went into the back and left the nice worker to help everyone up front. read more

I've had no problem with any See's Candy store all in the Central Coast, just haven't wrote a review on the Santa Maria Store even though I've been to it several times at this Betteravia location and when it was in the Santa Maria Mall. When I went their earlier this week the associate was quick to answer any of my questions and with the photos on the wall it was pretty simple to choose but not really, so much to choose from and trying not to think of the price. Gosh I remember decades ago spending $17.99 for a pound of chocolate, now roughly ten bucks more. At least I know what I'm getting, the consistency of taste is always great, the smell of chocolate tells me I don't have covid, what more can you ask for! read more

Very attentive customer service. As I walked in I was acknowledged and welcomed in. As I was browsing the store, I was offered samples MULTIPLE times. Staff were very nice and answered my questions about the differences in the many boxes they have. A box of assorted is $26 bux but hey, I think splurging on yourself once in a while is ok. Yup, it was Valentines Day...and I, with a whole BUNCH of other customers, found myself in See's Candies -Santa Maria. Many times a customer...first time reviewer. WOW...it was crowded, but true to form the See's Candies Associates were working quickly and diligently on servicing their customers. These ladies are AMAZING!Ladies, I thank-you for your continued FABULOUS customer service! ALWAYS clean in appearance and well stocked with boxes and BOXES of CHOCOLATES, I chose to pick my own custom 1/2 pound box (no need to go overboard...right?) of DARK CHOCOLATE NUTS AND CHEWS (OMG, so YUMMY). Samples were on the counter, for all...they were delicious. Only good things to say with regards to this See's location! I just want to say the customer service here is on point. I ordered a few boxes of See's candies during Easter but I left two boxes at work planning to use it for a few birthdays in May. I came in and wanted to get stickers or a different wrapper since the two boxes I had were Easter wrapping paper.... I know it's a weird request and I thought the worse the can happen is they'd tell me to take a hike. Miss Kim, the manager was on the register and she not only gave me the best customer service but she checked the pull dates on the candies I had and saw that they were expired, she exchanged my boxes for two new boxes. I really appreciate it. I feel like she went above and beyond. I will be coming back to this store and I will tell everyone what an amazing manager she is. read more

THE go-to place for candy gifts! I love about 99.9% of the candies I have tried from See's. Our favorite is the peanut butter patties but they are all quite good. They are a little expensive for candy but not any more expensive than other high quality candy stores. Also, you can usually get a free sample when you walk in. Yum! read more

In over 50 years of going for some GREAT CHOCOLATE at many See's locations, this was the only one that did not offer a sample. I purchased some anyway, because it's the best! I'll stick with the SLO location. read more

Stopped in here while the man was getting work done on his car. I have never had a See's Candies salesperson ever roll her eyes when I whipped out my debit card for a very small purchase. I do that all the time at See's in the malls in LA and they just smile and thank you. An eye roll? Seriously? Am I spoiled for thinking they should entertain my tiny purchases while I'm trying to control my chocolate intake? No, I am not. She also referred to us as "guys." Seriously. From time to time I wonder why so many of my reviews are so low. Maybe my standards are high. Maybe I'm spoiled. Maybe I just have a knack for discovering the cloud in the silver lining. Or maybe I'm right, and this was substandard treatment. The candy is delicious and I've been a loyal See's Candies shopper for my whole life - and I was trying to talk the man into buying chocolates for his nieces and nephews. This makes me sad. Yes, I have a bad sweet tooth and yes, I love sees but, that's not the only reason I am giving a good review. The staff is super nice, store is clean, and they are always well stocked. My complaint about this store is the service. I was visiting from out of town and stopped in to pick up a gift. I grabbed a pre packed box of candy and walked up to the register because no one was in line. I stood at the register for several minutes while the only employee in the store was fiddling with stuff behind the counter. A lady walked in and got in line behind me. The employee walked over and began getting her candy to fill her one pound box that she was customizing. I continued to stand at the register assuming the employee would at least ring me up before the other customer but no! The employee pushed my stuff out of the way asked me to move and rang up the lady behind me. When I said "I've been standing here since before this customer came in." The employee's reply with a very snippy attitude was "I'm moving as fast as I can." The quality of product is excellent but this service really as turned me off to the product all together. The woman who has worked there long time gives great sees customer service. I usually go to San Luis now because one of the newer persons is so businesslike, profit oriented, and condescending. It kills the sees experience. This is sees an American icon, not the bank. So since continued ill feelings of poor customer service, I go when I can to San Luis. read more
