I found The Sweet Tooth Fairy searching online for cupcakes to send for our son's birthday, as we are a couple thousand miles away on the East coast. The Sweet Tooth Fairy could not have been any nicer or responsive to our request for lemon cupcakes. They happen to have raspberry lemon cupcakes on the menu this month which have pink raspberry frosting. When I mentioned our son really loves lemon, without hesitation The Sweet Tooth Fairy offered to switch the frosting to lemon based vanilla. The cupcakes were delivered to our son's home on the day/time we requested. I saw a picture of them and they looked fabulous! And we were told they tasted delicious - the frosting was thick and not overly sweet with a luscious lemon flavor throughout the cupcakes :) We are very pleased and will order again :) Thank You Sweet Tooth Fairy! This is a cute little shop and perfect stop after eating dinner at one of the neighboring restaurants. The cookies we tried were all delicious, but unfortunately the service was pretty terrible. Absolutely no engagement from the employee when we walked in and started looking around. I was especially disappointed that the employee waited to mention a specific discount until after we spent a few minutes figured out what we wanted to buy, which prompted another round of rethinking our order. I just freaking love sweets and everything in here looks so good. I went on a Saturday and they had a sign up that said buy one get one free but then when we went to buy it was apparently only after 8PM. Maybe add that to the sign? But either way I got some cake bites and a cookie/brownie that topped off my afternoon quite nicely. I will say that the first lady that came out to help us was SUPER grumpy. To the point that I have my friend one of these looks. But she went back to the back and another girl came out to help and she was really great! read more

I am not much of a dessert person overall but I do love a good treat here and there. In this specific area, there is all kinds of awesome places to eat so it only makes sense to also have a dessert stop close by. The sweet tooth fairy has a wide variety of options--they have all kinds of cookies and bars to choose from. It was sort of overwhelming if I am being honest. For most people, this is one of those spots where "you can't just choose one". As for the business itself, I really really loved it. I thought the set up was really beautiful and pristine. For a dessert shop, they really do a great job at keeping everything organized and spotless. I loved all the different treats you were able to choose from. They also had other awesome features like gift bags, when you are in a hurry to get a last minute gift or they even make awesome bags for friends during the holidays. What a disappointing appointment! Went here at suggestion of a friend who knows the owners. Having a wedding venue coming up in a few months and never having been to this establishment we were excited to give it a try. Walked in with our soon to be bride and groom and were barely greeted and handed a small tray with 5 basic flavors of cupcakes, cut in fourths, and three VERY TINY sample cups of their frostings with MAYBE a tablespoon of frosting in each container! I stared at it and wondered when everyone else's samples were coming out (!!) but that was it! For 4 people to sample. Speechless. I asked if we were supposed to eat it with our fingers and the baker said "spoons are behind you!" That was it. I asked if they had pictures or a book for us to gather ideas from and she said, "no books or pictures." Ooookaaay. We sat at a little bistro table with 3 chairs and we were left on our own and that was it! It was the coldest unwelcoming I've ever encountered. I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore at the lack of customer care out there any more but I'm always hopeful! The cakes all tasted like Duncan Heinz. Nothing special at all. I was told when I made the appointment that they had strawberry frosting and caramel frosting and a few others and that we'd be sampling all of those! Which is WHY I booked the appointment. The Almond tablespoon of frosting we were given to divide amongst the four of us tasted like someone had dumped the bottle of extract in it. We all thought it was awful. Should be much more subtle, that much I do know! The cream cheese was blah. The vanilla buttercream was "meh" at best. But in fairness, the consistency was lovely! Seriously, the flavors were underwhelming (with the exception of the overwhelmingly potent almond sample). No one came over to see if we had any questions! They really just didn't care that we were there. Period. No one spoke to the bride or groom. Never asked their names (which were given at the time I made the reservation) and no one gave two cents when we left! I have never stepped foot in a Sweet Tooth Fairy and honestly, after today's experience, not one of us would ever return. I understand we're "nobody" to them. And if I had been warned prior to coming I might have been better prepared? . However, we think our people are pretty special, and we actually DO know good service and good food, and expected a higher caliber of professionalism from all the hype we heard about STF...and basically, just to be treated better. First time visiting any of their locations. This place won cupcake wars and I've been to another cupcake shop that has won (Alisha's cupcakes, 10x better!!!). I was hoping for similar amazing cupcakes and they were just okay. We ordered a red velvet and a strawberry shortcake. The red velvet was a nice moist cake. But seriously I could make this easily at home. The cream cheese frosting was nice. The strawberry shortcake was moist to but lacking in flavors. The strawberry frosting on top was way too sweet! And they make you think you are getting a full strawberry on top but it's just half a strawberry. Overall I won't go back. Even my kids didn't like it. My 4 year who loves sweets just as much as I do said it was gross, strawberry shortcake. Not worth eating I had a couple small bites of each and I didn't want it. Nice service. Delicious treats! Everytime I come to Provo it's a must stop. We love the cake bites especially! After many years of shopping here I'm always amazed by how terrible the customer service is. Time after time I'm greeted by a grumpy college student who is neither helpful or happy, today the employee even told me he thought some of the stuff was "gross"... posting for the employer AGAIN (left the same review a few years ago) to hire better people! You'll sell more and attract more customers! A place like this needs a pleasant and happy salesperson behind the counter. Step it up. read more

First time trying their cake bites. They were good, I expected them to have a cakey texture but they were surprisingly really gooey and tasted more like fudge to me. They were really sweet also, I'd argue a little too sweet. I'm really sensitive to sweetness though so maybe that's why. For some reason I keep going back here thinking things will be different. Every time I am wrong. The cupcakes are mediocre and basically everything else is a huge disappointment. The employees always seem bothered to help anyone. Isn't that their job? It's not like I can grab my order myself and ring myself up. If I could I might give them an extra star for not having to deal with the people behind the counters attitudes. I made a request for sugar free cupcakes on a custom order and I was told that is not possible. How do you even win cupcake wars only making passable cupcakes and hardly anything to appeal to a fairly large demographic? Beautifully done cupcakes that ended up looking better than they tasted. The cupcakes themselves were pretty average while the frosting and toppings were way too sugary for my taste. I think this place has good cupcakes but not great. Some of their flavors are pretty simple, but overall it's a good quality. My husband really liked the funfetti one, but I think that's more a reason of nostalgia rather than actual cupcake quality. This is also the most convenient location for me to buy cupcakes so I do end up going here more than some other places, but there are definitely better cupcakes nearby. read more
