I could have added 100 more gorgeous photos than the many I already posted. The setting for the Ranch is very beautiful. You are surrounded by stunning National Forest. Trail rides take you to breath-taking views of vistas, mountains, through forests, flowering meadows, on and on. This is a great place to have a get-away alone because the staff actively socializes with the guests, everyone eats at group tables so you don't eat alone, you take trail rides, fishing trips, etc. with guides so you never feel lonely. If you want to be by yourself, you can take a walk or hike or hang out on your balcony. If you bring kids--they have "kid wranglers" who keep the little ones busy and supervised. Older kids can go on trail rides without you with watchful wranglers, there is even an overnight where younger kids have a "late over" up the mountain (then come back to their cabin to sleep), and teenagers have an overnight camping trip without parents. All meals are included, you only pay for alcohol. Trail rides are included. Many fishing trips can be arranged which are totally guided and all equipment is provided. I fly fished for my first time up a trail that was about a 30 minute drive and 45 minute hike up to a mountain lake where there was only one other person and it was stunning! Families and groups were there who go year after year. The staff is extremely warm and friendly. They work hard to make sure everyone has a good time and gets the vacation they want--be it family bonding, horseback riding, fishing, enjoying nature, etc. They had masseuses come in one day and I had a massage in the side room of the chapel. The chapel is so beautiful, this would be a mind-blowing wedding destination. I flew to a nearby airport and arranged to have the Ranch pick me up and drop me off, so I never needed a car. When we take the family, we will drive there and take a week to go through Yellowstone, etc. on the way home. Wyoming has a special place in my heart--and this trip helped cement it in there!

Seriously... this place is literally like one of those $20 per night flop house motels. Seriously bad, ill equipped in amenities, tiny, old, moldy, no TV, no phone, no bath soap, short shower curtain insures big puddle in bathroom. Just overall... a total dump! Not worth $20 per night and they charge $143.00. You'd be better off staying in a Motel 6 off the interstate. I will need a shower after staying here.

Nice little pond by restaurant that kids loved to fish in, creek runs thru property and also a favorite adventure spot for the kids. We rented the "rustic" Rainbow cabin which we kinda anticipated by the name that it would leave something to be desired, it had 2 full size beds separated by a wall, mattresses were a bit on the firm side, floors did creek with every step (we considered this a primitive security system) doors do lock. It does have a nice deck facing the river and you could hear the creek and wind thru the trees while sleeping. There was a little space heater as even late in July it dropped to the 40s at night. This could use some upgrades, but was told by staff the rustic cabins rarely get rented. I'm guessing modern cabins are the bread and butter for them. The community bathhouse had one shower and 2 toilet stalls with closing doors, and a double sink vanity with mirror. We had 3 others in our group. One had a rustic cabin like ours and the other 2 had more modern cabins, the Antelope which had a king bed, bathroom and a set of bunk beds, TV, and wifi it was a nice set up near the pond with an area for our group to meet and cook meals together. I can't recall the name of the other cabin but it had a king bed, bathroom with shower, TV and wifi. The more modern cabins were a bit pricey for our family so we went rustic.

Louie Anderson has been heavily chipping, drilling, comfortizing and outight manufacturing routes, which goes against ethics set by the Access Fund, the Bighorn Climbers' Coalition, and the climbing community at large. It's hard to support a person like that. Hopefully he changes his ways in the future, but Louie Anderson has been at it for decades. It'll take a long time for me to believe that he's stopped.
