Came in for the first time asking if they could stretch a hat slightly for me. The first person who helped me said it couldn't be done, but thankfully the gentleman working at the steamer offered to try his best. I let him know I would truly appreciate anything at all, even the smallest stretch. He was able to do just enough to make the hat fit perfectly for my dad, who hasn't been able to wear it for about five years. That small adjustment meant a lot, and I'm so grateful he took the time to help. My only recommendation would be to allow customers the option to take the risk on adjustments they're willing to try before turning them away. I completely understand the hesitation from the first employee, but sometimes it's not just about what you say, it's how you say it. A little willingness and kindness can go a long way with customers. read more

We came here because it was highly recommended to us. It's about 45 minutes away from us so we took the drive. My husband loves hats, and we've visited many stores and we always leave with something. I specifically wanted to get my husband a new hat for Christmas. We walked in, we weren't even greeted. There were about 5 people inside that looked like they worked there. Not even a smile or feeling of being welcomed into the store. It's a smaller shop so kinda awkward interaction if you ask me. No one asked us what we were looking for or if we needed help. So we browsed. A friend of ours was with us and found a hat and he ended up getting it shaped. But the man that shaped his hat seemed annoyed. Our friend had never purchased a tejano before, it was his first experience. How sad that this was his first experience because he was basically rushing him to choose his shaping. He didn't even offer a recommendations. I did notice a girl come in after us to get her hat shaped with a different person and he seemed very friendly and chatty with her. But idk maybe he knew her already so that's why he was nice. Point is, I didn't buy my husband a hat here. I wasn't going to give them my hard earned money for that type of service. I'd rather fly back to Texas for a better experience than come back here again. Horrible customer service. Also, we checked their hours online and it said they closed at 8pm. We got there at 4pm. But I think they were rushing us because they were going to close. How's that my problem? Lol Anyways I won't recommend this place. Take your money elsewhere. read more

I came from Palm Springs since a Boot Barn employee recommended us this shop, I was informed once I got here hats start at about $300. I would've loved more affordable options but I did find kids hats and they fit perfectly. I bought 3 hats, my husband ended up buying one and too and got them all branded. I loved the attention to detail we were given and it was a wait to get them shaped and branded but the drive was worth it. The kids hats cost me about $118 each just fyi. I was informed the straw hats a more affordable than the felt and beaver hats read more

I just purchased this cowboy hat from the rack room Hatworks and they shaped it for me right on site. I must tell you that all staff members are extremely polite and professional. I had been in previously for a brim repair and they were kind enough to refer me to bowman's hat company Who is in Orange. They made me feel like family. They have a huge selection of hat from straws to higher end hats at reasonable prices. I would 100% recommend these guys for a true western experience. read more

I already had 2 hats - a felt bowler and a Stetson felt cowboy hat - but they didn't fit on my misshapen head, which is too long back-to-front and too narow on the sides. I did have to wait in line for their shaping service, but it was worth it! They had two guys on 2 steaming stations and they were spur nice and REALLY knew their stuff. I walked out with my hats actually fitting on my head. And they only charged me $10! That is not enough for what they do. I put money in the tip jars that each guy had at his station. It's a 40 minute drive for me and I'll gladly do that for any hats I need shaped in the future. read more

Went to the Tack Room for the first time today. Walked in and they had a nice selection of various brand hats all unshaped. Someone helped me pick out a hat that fit properly and the color I wanted. I was a bit worried to spend the money on a good hat and have it fit not quite right. Once it was picked out, hopped in line and waited my turn. The line went quick as there were two shapers working. Walked out with a new Whiskey color Rodeo King fitted and shaped to me. Couldn't be happier. Price was right, service was excellent, everyone was super friendly. Glad I found this place. These guys are awesome and very, very knowledgeable about western hats for men and women. Be aware that you may have to wait a long time to talk to someone here. They are a small shop, and the locals love them! The first time I stopped in, there was a line of people 10 deep waiting for their hats to be shaped properly. I left that time because I couldn't wait but I thought, if that many people are buying from this store it's worth trying one more time. Next time, I came in early on the next open day, and there were still 3 people waiting lol but I took a chance and waited as well. It was definitely worth it! $10 dollars for hat cleaning and shaping, and my hat came out looking brand new! I will never use anyone else for hat shaping, and the next time I buy another western hat, this will be the place! Hat pricing is definitely an excellent value here. Finally, customer service is great as well! Love my hat! Tack Room Hat Works has great quality hats and an experienced hat shaper! Not an inexperienced 19 year old like you'll find at chain stores. If you are looking for a hat be sure to call ahead to make sure they are open since it is a family business. I also recommend not going last minute since they might be waiting on a shipment.
