I've been to this Tillys location about four times now, and every single visit the store has smelled strongly of marijuana. As a parent, it's not something I want to have to explain to my daughters while we're simply trying to shop. I understand the employees may not be the cause, but it's something management should address because it definitely takes away from the shopping experience. That said, I want to recognize the cashier who helped me during my most recent visit. She was friendly, helpful, and provided excellent customer service. I just hope the issue with the persistent marijuana smell can be resolved, because otherwise I enjoy shopping here. read more

I checked in recently on Black Friday to explore the Holiday Specials and was very impressed by the high quality Professional consistency of the Team Hustle! All the Team Members greeted me enthusiastically and made me feel like a valued priority, and thoroughly assisted me with any questions I had about checking out interesting designs that caught my eye in the backpack selection and the Peanuts in Japan designs. BJ, Bri, and their Teammates all went out if their way to make me feel welcome and helped me find my size in a special shirt I was interested in. I also really appreciated the Manager on duty being very visible in his role keeping the Team aligned in their sales objectives for the evening! I'm very proud of this Team for being excellent Role Models of High Quality work in their Sales and Display Hustle! This review is on Tilly's employee moral and culture. As the mother of a High School student who works here, my son is about to hit his year working for them and I am completely BLOWN AWAY. Who ever runs this store has truly mastered management. This is coming from someone who works in Human Resources at some top Fortune 500 companies, including Google and Amazon. I also majored in Business. This Tilly's fosters a supportive work environment for young employees. The management supports students' academic commitments such as Prom, and Graduation. The store encourages and celebrates achievements outside of work. This approach, combined with teamwork and skill development, creates a positive first-job experience. I would give a zero if I could. My wife and daughter were in the store looking around as the employees were just standing around talking to each other. My wife needed something off the top rack and again no one even came to see if they needed help. She then got the pole to bring down what she needed the employee came running to finaly help. The service at this location was terrible, even at check out they only talked to my daughter not my wife who was buying everything. Very disappointing as other stores we have been to have been great. Horrible customer service. 2 managers confirmed I could return one of two exact jackets (diff sizes) still has tags and barely out of 30 days, FOR STORE CREDIT. Female manager says not allowed once I come in and only exchange (which I couldn't do at the moment). The reason she didn't want to allow store credit, so they can book the revenue at their store level and prevent us from spending online. Not putting customer needs first. Service is ok but every time I walk in it smells like skunk weed. I see people complaining and they walk out causing the location to lose business. I also walk out after one or two minutes. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you want a second hand high. read more

The clothes here are really cute and trendy but the prices are expensive. They have a buy 1 get 1 50% sale on swimsuits. Really great selection for women's clothing. There's no rashguards if anyone was wondering. Customer service greeted us and was able to answer any questions we needed. They have a lavender tennis dress style at this location for about $25 and I got it at H&M for a similar price. read more

I came to this location today to do some christmas shopping and honestly it was such a negative experience. The employees had 0 customer service skills as no one helped my sister and I on the floor. We saw the employees talking with one another and even saw one of the girls talking on the phone as she was working. It was very unprofessional and disappointing to see as they did not care for their customers. I'm not sure who is hiring these people, but obviously they do not care about this business. Very disappointing since this Tillys is right around the corner for me, but I won't be coming here again. read more

Lack of training and the ability to have compassion reign true here. When the help are 1) no way to be found & we have to go look for someone 2) assuming I have no clue what unisex means 3) young and incompetent to do the job they were hired to do instead of trying to make the customers feel stupid or a nuisance, you need to rehire a new staff because the one you currently have is costing you money. Horrible customer service, I ordered online to pick up in store to by pass the outside line because why else does anyone buy online to pick up in store? For the convenience obviously. Nope. Was told I had to get in line because it wasn't fair for the other customers already waiting in line. I'm sorry but how is that fair to me, a customer that has already paid? I wasn't going to go in a shop around. I just want my package without waiting in the direct sunlight for over 20 minutes. Then I was told I wouldn't have to wait in line inside. I came in doing some last min Christmas shopping and while I was looking around one of the associates named Erick came up to me and asked if I needed any help and usually at most retail stores you have to go up to the store members to ask for help but Erick is the very opposite he was kind, helpful and actually looked like he likes helping out customers. I have 5 boys. We are almost exclusive Tilly's shoppers for clothes! Great prices and selections. It seems like a lot of people making complaints are not happy people in general. there is always one or two workers talking having the best time of their life while costumers wait in line and only have one register open also i went in for just a hoodie and the girl at the register checked the middle pocket checked the hoodie and then checked like on a sensor to see if it had any metals and i paid with cash and she checked that mf like if i was trying to steal or do something bad sometimes they have really rude attitude and i still dont get how they have long conversations when they can see a line at the registers read more

First off, I have been going to Tillys for 20+ years. Today I took my 10 year old boy in to get him some new school clothes and what a joke it was. First of all the store is a lot smaller that most of the other stores and as far as boys clothes they had very very small amount. But that's not best part, a few minutes into shopping my son asks if he can use the restroom and they tell him that they are using it as a storage room so it's not safe to use. Lol, are you kidding me. If someone has to use the restroom you are going to send them away from your store and then hope they return? Good luck with that. I think we will stick to shopping at Active Board Shop, at least they have a restroom you can use. read more

I have had two poor experiences at this location . Last one in particular was in regards to a backpack purchase. I had to catch a late flight the same day of purchase. After placing my merchandise in the bag I discovered the sensor was left on the bag which was an inconvenience. Went in a few weeks after returning home and explained to the cashier that I purchased the bag and couldn't take it on my flight and her response was " they wouldn't let you take it on the flight." Why would I wear something with a sensor and look like a thief ? Thee most ridiculous comment ! Last night 8/20/15 I came in very close to closing time to get some last minute things for my son. JOE was so patient and helpful. He was attentive from the minute we walked in, to helping with dressing rooms, and getting shoe sizes for us. Trust me we were not an easy task! I'm not crazy about 90% of their merchandise but shop at Tilly's for board shorts and other beachwear. I have always received good customer service. I'm usually greeted upon entry, the sales associates are helpful with finding sizes and their fitting room attendants re-rack the clothing for you. I just wanted to say thank you for the great service that I got when I came in the other day. When I walked in, one of the employees by the name of Ariana approached me with a very friendly smile and demeanor. She asked me what I was looking for and if there's anything she could do to help me. Usually I don't like to be disturbed while shopping, but I really did need help trying to find something for my daughter's back to school. And Ariana was very friendly and seemed to know what she was doing when I let her know I was shopping for my daughter. She asked me detail questions about my daughters size and what she was into , then she led me to several items that she felt would be something my daughter would like. And even compared shirts with pants to make matching outfits. Me as a mom with a teenage daughter find it very hard to find clothes to shop for. The customer service is always normal, but at our last visit, our cashier sydnie, was just so adorable. Super huge smile, great personality and over the top customer service. definitely do not put an online order here. This place is the reason why 4 wall retailers are failing. My wife placed an order for a b-day present today for me to pickup, and unfortunately it was not only not available for a confirmed pickup, they didn't have any others on the floor. The cashier was clueless to online orders and said it should be here, but it's a new process so i'm sure they will figure it out. The manager ( so sorry i forgot his name, due to my anger at him brushing me off to check his phone), but didn't even bother to make anything accommodating or find a solution, and actually questioned why i brought a Target shopping cart in his store ( which is not ADA complaint as I actually couldn't maneuver anything). Came tonight with my wife looking to buy some shirts and pants. Came up to the sun glasses section and I recently bought Von zipper shades that cost 120 at the tillys in Ontario mills, the next day I found out my shades were made in China....ummmm what!!! Von Zipper is located in Italy. Sure enough when I came to the location LITERALLY ALLLLLLL THE VONZIPPER shades said MADE in ITALY!!! Heather the manager came up super friendly and asked me if I wanted to try any shades on. I explained to her my situation and she helped me out as easy as one two three! She saw my shades and apologized for the issue. It wasn't her fault but she was super nice. I mean like SUPER NICE! Left a note for her other employees so I can come back the next day and pick out another shades ( which I'm going for ray bans ) I rather pay more then get a cheap knock off. I went to 3 different Tillys and all employees were rude. But heather took her job as manager plus customer service to the next level and made sure I left happy and let me tell you i did. Tillys this woman deserves a raise and make sure next time you decide to hire someone they have the same attitude as her because heather is one AMAZING person that puts her customers first then herself.
