But the sentimentality of the money clip from my mother was the ultimate importance. Priscilla emailed back and said they had found the money clip and all the cash was intact. They mailed it down to me priority mail with tracking, and I can't say how appreciative I was with receiving it with over $600 in it, to pay for a trailer on the way home. I was genuinely stupefied about the honesty of the employees. I showed my gratitude to them!!! Resort review: I drove up there to drop off another hiker that was supposed to start the journey but contracted COVID just before star that was joining my wife for the rest of the John Muir trail, and spend the night with my wife in a room with a bed, toilet., and shower, before she got back on the trail. The place is what I like; a civilized retreat that is far from civilization and has all the basic amenities that one would need to enjoy some peaceful rest, relaxation, day hikes, sitting around the fire, and fishing. The Room are very basic, and trust me, it's a gem to the hikers, and a basic room to those not trough-hiking. I say; who cares, its warm, has indoor plumbing with shower, heating, electric lights and outlets to charge your electronic junk, a little convenience kitchen, chairs, tables and night-stands. This is the best of a soul-enriching retreat that you don't have to hike miles to get to, and drive to {make sure you have some clearance underneath the vehicle)- soccer mom van did it fine, sports car would not be choice. I would bring my truck, but would also consider my Ford Mach-E EV, asking prior about charging it back up at the resort. The atmosphere was electrified with all the John Muir trail hikers that were coming in to pick up their re-supply of backpacking food and other supplies that they had mailed up to Vermillion Valley Resort (VVR) previously - what a great service! The hikers were so happy to be able to resupply on a little bit of civilization, that was still way away from "the rat race", and have a brief respite from the tent, camp stove, filtering water, and making sure of good foot and body hygiene. For those that did not reserve a room, there was still laundry machines available, showers, backpacking re-supplies, and of course very tasty n filling café food. The kitchen serves great home-cooked comfort food that really appeals to the hiking crowd, and to myself as I just love it. Many of the hikers knew each other from the trail and I felt excitement that comes from the hikers who saw and made friends together on-trail: they had lots of catching up to do, and a bit more time to do so-precious. The free camping area for tents was super-cool! As for my experience, I relished that I could bring a wonderful feast of King Crab, steak, Caesar salad, fresh asparagus (from the Fresno Costco on my way up) my wife and her hiking friends without a big detour for them. It was so perfect, and the staff was perfect at accommodating needs, like the magician Priscilla. She always had great answers, always available, and just seemed like "an old soul" in her demeanor, attitude and ability to poly-task. Nuf Sed, Greg

The staff here are very friendly and informative. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast for staying guests. There was a massive variety of breakfast options. Well organized and cleanliness was maintained throughout our experience. Jimmy was cleaning the dining area and he greeted us and asked if he can clean a section to accommodate our large group. He was very nice. There was a very sweet lady working in the kitchen area. I didn't grab her name but she was hospitable and genuinely nice. She took our last name before eating and let us know what yummy food options were available. We will definitely be coming back.

The staff was very friendly and willing to talk about restaurants and the best way to get to Yosemite and other questions that we had. The whole property was well kept and felt very safe easy driving directions to get to our hotel room. We were blessed with a hotel first floor had a great patio out, looking into a wooded area. Parking was very easy we park just a few spots away from our hotel room. They EV charging stations for vehicles and other things plenty of handicap parking all throughout the facility and also a restaurant right in the middle of this place so you don't have to go very far to get good food Speaking of good food, their breakfast buffet by far put it over the top because a lot of times you go to hotels and you get maybe a continental breakfast just a few items and you're not really interested in those items but this breakfast buffet was overwhelming because it was so amazing and on this trip we finally got to eat a good meal at a hotel They had pancake sausage, eggs, different kinds of bacon, like four or five different juices, six or seven different coffees, bagels plenty of people behind the counter to serve you fresh fruit, all kind of stuff and it was well laid out. A very relaxing environment that you can walk in get your breakfast sit down and really enjoy your time there and go back for seconds and know it was gonna be hot and fresh every time so I truly recommend this place because of how relaxing it was how easy it was to get in and out of and the food quality for breakfast was amazing. The only thing that was a little bit still out of date, but still look good was the rooms they are older style rooms not updated like a lot of other places are, but it was an amazing stay great facilities and we will stay here every time we go to Yosemite

Reservations were made in advanced for a standard room with a king bed. Days before I arrived, the hotel upgraded me to a king suite. Claire checked my wife and I in. We were given a nice room on the second floor. The room was large with lots of seating area and a king bed. The bathroom was nice and had a fancy type of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. They have a nice gym with treadmills, ellipticals and dumbbells for you to lift. The gym was clean. An ice machine and water dispenser is located in the gym for the entire hotel. Breakfast is served in the morning at the Hemlock Restaurant and Bar. No free breakfast unless you have Marriott status. The Hemlock Restaurant and Bar is open in the evenings for dinner and drinks from 5PM to 9PM. Both my wife and I had the loco moco for breakfast. We both didn't like it, as we've had better. It would be safer to stick with the American favorites like waffles, French toast or bacon (or sausage) with eggs. The restroom downstairs is a modern one with common handwashing stations and individual coed rooms with toilets. The hotel was woefully short staffed during my stay. Claire who checked us in told me she worked a 12 hour shift as a manager left for better opportunities. The evening front desk clerk also worked a 12 hour shift as I saw him at night and in the morning. When they weren't busy checking people in/out, or handling requests from guests, they worked the restaurant with Cole, who was also working by himself. This was a nice hotel for me. It gave me everything that I needed for a quick stay. Although it didn't affect me too much, a few more employees working here would make things better.

Upon…read morearrival, we were informed, without prior notice, that our reservation had been changed to a double queen room. When I asked why, I was told that due to an upcoming snowstorm, PG&E staff required accommodations and were given the King rooms instead. When I asked why their needs were prioritized over a reservation that had been planned and paid for well in advance, no explanation was provided. I am 6'3" and do not sleep well in a queen bed, which is precisely why I booked a King room early and intentionally. I had selected and paid for this room type through Expedia and could show the receipt confirming it. Despite this, the staff stated that bookings made through Expedia, even when a specific room type is selected and paid for, do not guarantee that the hotel will honor that reservation. No alternatives or solutions were offered, and there was no willingness to work with us to make the situation right. As a result, I am now lying awake in a cramped bed, disappointed and wishing we had chosen a different destination altogether. It is an unfortunate and frustrating way to begin what was meant to be a special Valentine's Day getaway.

From the moment we rolled in, we relaxed our breath into the cradling caring arms of Cyndi's Snowline Lodge. Natural darkness descending around us- Robert was quick to invite us into the warmly lit communal lodge area, which was brimming with personality. He showed us a fun silverware balancing bar trick, while Lucky the dog, looked on with heavy lidded amusement. We were the only ones staying at the lodge that night. Our room was darling and clean and smelled fresh. The wi-fi was working well. We slept unbelievably well. Showering was a dream in the morning with strong hot water pressure. Cindi brought us up fresh squeezed orange juice and invited us down for a hot lovingly made breakfast spread - which included hot waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and light potatoes. We also indulged in wondrous coffee and an impressive selection of tea. Cindy even had Pink Himalayan Salt on hand for us to adorn our food - which we indulged in both there and on our backpacking adventure. Cyndi and the rest of the loving folk who help run this charming lodge take immense care and pride in making sure that all those who stay here feel welcomed and taken care of. They go out of their way to make everyone's stay both memorable and comfortable. We can't wait to come back to Cyndi's Snowline Lodge. Trust.
