The information the resort was giving was inaccurate. Highway 168 was open that morning to exit

The vermilion valley resort is very convenient. They have a cafe/restaurant, a little store with supplies. The staff is very friendly. Definitely a cool place to hang out. Try the apple pie, it's delicious. I don't know how it stays In business when they give tabs to all the hippies that hike up there. While waiting inline to buy ice I wittiness hippies putting stuff on other people's tabs, the girls working there didn't catch it. I was there during the creek fire, the communication from the resort to the sheriff/fire department is poor. The resort told us highway 168 was closed, I found out for myself when I drove to highway 168 Sunday morning it was open to people leaving the Sierra National Forest, only closed to people that want to head up to Shaver Lake from Prather. They should have evacuated everyone Saturday & Sunday. Thankfully Robert the camp host at the Vermilion Campground told us to leave Sunday Morning, we did and made it out okay. The resort should have better info for the people staying up there, maybe a direct line to the proper help or departments. There is no cell service.

Great place to stay! Friendly staff and the food is beyond! The drive up is a little sketch tho.

BBQ and beer at 7,600 feet? A massive alpine lake with three big creeks, excellent fishing, tons of camping spots, easy access to the high Sierra and all the PCT and JMT hikers passing through? Yes please. This place is amazing. If you're expecting the Hilton this isn't it. This is an alpine, backcountry resort. It's a remote and pristine place. Visit VVR if you want to get away from civilization, concrete, smog and insanity. Far far away.

I was there to resupply some friends hiking on the JMT - plus to do some backpacking on Mono Creek.

We only stayed one night unfortunately due to needing to come home but compared to china peak I won't stay any where else. Rooms are older but much larger than china peak and cleaner. The staff had our keys ready when we arrived they were helpful all around and the rooms for being next to each other are pretty quiet. 10/10. Can't wait to come back!

He had no record of reservations so I felt lucky to snag a room. We arrived at 1 pm on our check in day and no one was on the premises. Empty lot, manager office locked, nothing. Thankfully, a young man drove in and I asked if he knew anything? He said oh I know the guy's real phone number. My phone had no service so this wonderful person called the 'manager?' And he said just go to room 5, use that one. Huh? Yeah, all the rooms are unlocked, key sitting on table. Pretty dirty, one old sheet on bed, one old bedspread. Dirty kitchen, brown toilet, something blue on the shower floor, maybe old comet? I don't know I felt lucky to find 2 pillowcases on a kitchen shelf and they looked clean. We spent one night, had a friend who had an extra bedroom for the second night. It is so weird! This guy, whoever he is, charges your card when you reserve. You show up to this beat room. Rip off

The staff here are very friendly and informative. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast for staying guests. There was a massive variety of breakfast options. Well organized and cleanliness was maintained throughout our experience. Jimmy was cleaning the dining area and he greeted us and asked if he can clean a section to accommodate our large group. He was very nice. There was a very sweet lady working in the kitchen area. I didn't grab her name but she was hospitable and genuinely nice. She took our last name before eating and let us know what yummy food options were available. We will definitely be coming back.

The staff was very friendly and willing to talk about restaurants and the best way to get to Yosemite and other questions that we had. The whole property was well kept and felt very safe easy driving directions to get to our hotel room. We were blessed with a hotel first floor had a great patio out, looking into a wooded area. Parking was very easy we park just a few spots away from our hotel room. They EV charging stations for vehicles and other things plenty of handicap parking all throughout the facility and also a restaurant right in the middle of this place so you don't have to go very far to get good food Speaking of good food, their breakfast buffet by far put it over the top because a lot of times you go to hotels and you get maybe a continental breakfast just a few items and you're not really interested in those items but this breakfast buffet was overwhelming because it was so amazing and on this trip we finally got to eat a good meal at a hotel They had pancake sausage, eggs, different kinds of bacon, like four or five different juices, six or seven different coffees, bagels plenty of people behind the counter to serve you fresh fruit, all kind of stuff and it was well laid out. A very relaxing environment that you can walk in get your breakfast sit down and really enjoy your time there and go back for seconds and know it was gonna be hot and fresh every time so I truly recommend this place because of how relaxing it was how easy it was to get in and out of and the food quality for breakfast was amazing. The only thing that was a little bit still out of date, but still look good was the rooms they are older style rooms not updated like a lot of other places are, but it was an amazing stay great facilities and we will stay here every time we go to Yosemite
