A swimming beach at Bass Lake
    Stephanie A.

I love Bass Lake. My tips: In the summer, go early on weekends, like before 8, for a space. More water in the lake means a much smaller beach. Pick up your trash and some extra so you leave it better than you found it. Remember you are sharing space with others, including bears and birds. We don't want to hear your music. I am speaking for everyone.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful day and site today. On our visit here. It was not overcrowded at all. The water was nice and warm with smooth sand under my toes. After enjoying the water and seeing all of the boats in the water. We walked back to the top to barbecue and eat. The fee to enter is $10 but it's for all day, and allows you to exit and enter with the same parking/entrance pass. There are even clean on site restrooms with flushable toilets. Once we left here we checked into an airbnb, really cute cabin for the night.

Water is swimmable and the lake is so big. We rented a boat with a slide it was so much fun

This is a very nice lake to see from any point as well as fishing for bass, hence it's namesake. There are shops, restaurants off the lake like the recommended Ducey's On the Lake to soaked in the scenic view during dining. If you're staying at the World Mark...it's a very short walk to the lake from their resort - just look for the white open fence.

Where to begin? I have been enjoying the restaurant associated with this hotel for many years now…read moreon my visits to the area which is a treasure near Yosemite. The town of Oakhurst is my favorite as it offers great amenities that are the closest to the best entrance to Yosemite in my opinion. Lets start with the food. This is one of the best culinary experiences I have had and it is consistently good. The three course or five course dining service is stellar. These chefs are some of the best in the world and Ive been all over the world. The leadership of Erica is not to be surpassed. She has an incredible calm spirit with a smiling happy crew that provides top notch service with warmth and class. The bartender Jordan is a delight with his great smile and kind eyes. The food experience made me feel like I was being nourished from the inside out not just with nutrition but with love and flavor that was new and revitalizing. This was my first stay at the Chateau Sureau. Oh my heart. I feel that I was healed and restored from a level of stress I dont think I realized I was carrying from our busy crazy noisy world at home. The property is exquisite with old world charm and the perfect patina of age that makes you feel you are in the old country of Paris or Austria or England. The landscape is stunning and it was raining so the fireplaces were roaring and the pines were glistening with silver drops backlit by an incredible sunset. The breakfast service is top notch and the staff is incredibly attentive. You know its good when you know each others names. Thanks to Lorenzo, Sienna, Logan, Jissel and Lori for incredible Chalet guest service. Then, there is the spa. I just had to go since I was feeling like my life was coming back to my ownership again. The Spa is gorgeous. The spa. director Way has been on this property for 20 years. I had the best facial and conversation with her. What a treasure she is. Kim was my massage therapist and she is one of the best I have ever had and my son at home is a therapist as well so I feel qualified to say so. I got to spend my time in the couples massage room which has stunning views, a balcony that looks out from the hot bubbling soaking tub that you get to use after your massage. I had a choice of oils to add and we went with elderberry which is incredible for soft skin. Its absolutely wonderful. The small scale in size lent itself to making connections with other guests that were fantastic and I made friends here while staying that will last! I will be back everytime I am in town. I was here on a rainy weeks end and it added to the magic. I can imagine what it is like in spring when the gorgeous grounds are covered in flowers blooming. I cant wait to see it again then or even next month for the holidays! Some may say there is some aging to the rooms but I say its perfect and if you have traveled to the Old Country in Europe this is part of the actual beauty and experience. Relish it!!

This casino offers a wide variety of slot machines and table games. They do have a wide selection of food from steaks, buffet, burger joints and more inside. You must be 21+ to enter as well. They won't let you in if you're under. There's also a bar in the middle of the floor. Staffs are friendly! I've never stayed in their hotel rooms before but I've heard many good things of how clean and well maintenance there are and as well as their restrooms. It can get smoky on the floor because people do smoke cigarettes and it is allowed so beware especially for those who have medical conditions like asthma. I went with only $200 and I came out with more and hit my biggest ever. Money link is my favorite slot game. Go test your luck!

The Food is okay, nothing special But......90% of the workers and staff are rude or downright hateful. This business charges for everything. Each drink be it soda water or coffee is by the glass or cup; no refills. My family and I chose to stay 4 days in the hotel as our house was being worked on. Every time you leave your room and return you must show your Identification and state your room number in order to pass security. I purchased a drink at the travel center when I gassed my car, I wanted to take it to my hotel room. Security made me throw it in the trash before I was able to enter. I have a Yeti water bottle that was empty and I was going to take it to my room, security refused to allow me to take it in. The guard said I could only take in a water bottle that says Chuckchansi on it. I was handed a tee shirt because it was my birthday and I have a Players Card. The Tee Shirts only come in one size.....the doesn't fit most people size! To put the icing on this rotten cake.......Monday night my family wanted to go to the Buffet. I didn't want to eat but I wanted to be with my husband because he had just been told his Sister died. The cashiers (two) informed me if ai wasn't there to pay for a meal then I had to leave. The girl with the flashy fingernails was extremely rude and the young man working with her, backed her up. I tried to speak with either the Hotel Supervisor (left a message & Number, they never bothered to call.). Or the Supervisor at VIP/Players Club. He was too busy handing out ridiculous mini camp refrigerators to greedy players to bother with speaking to me. Tonight we had dinner at the Noodle Bar. My husband ordered the Beef Chow Mein and it was inedible. We let them know and were charged for the dish regardless. For 3 adults and .2 children under 12 the bill was $140.00. On the positive side, the big Bakery at the back of the Smokers Casino is very good and the prices are reasonable. We had the choice of staying in an Oakhurst Hotel or Chuckchansi. We elected to stay here at Chuckchansi and we all had terrible time. We are leaving a day early. I hope this review spares you reading this, an expensive unenjoyable stay at Chuckchansi Hotel and Casino.

The Hemlock Restaurant and Bar is open in the evenings for dinner and drinks from 5PM to 9PM. Both my wife and I had the loco moco for breakfast. We both didn't like it, as we've had better. It would be safer to stick with the American favorites like waffles, French toast or bacon (or sausage) with eggs. The restroom downstairs is a modern one with common handwashing stations and individual coed rooms with toilets. The hotel was woefully short staffed during my stay. Claire who checked us in told me she worked a 12 hour shift as a manager left for better opportunities. The evening front desk clerk also worked a 12 hour shift as I saw him at night and in the morning. When they weren't busy checking people in/out, or handling requests from guests, they worked the restaurant with Cole, who was also working by himself. This was a nice hotel for me. It gave me everything that I needed for a quick stay. Although it didn't affect me too much, a few more employees working here would make things better.
