If you want quality and amazing artwork come here! I was completely satisfied with the outcome of my tattoo. David is absolutely incredible at what he does. They all make you feel comfortable. I had given a deposit years ago but due to unforeseen circumstances I had to postpone the session. However, once I decided that I was ready he still honored it. He's great a communicating. I can't thank him enough for covering up a hideous tattoo I had previously. I'm getting so many compliments. It was truly life changing getting this cover up. Now I can confidently wear a nice swim suit during the summer. His staff is super nice too. Thank you so much ! If I could give more stars I would
Came in yesterday for my birthday to get a tattoo. My artist was Art! He was super chill super funny and just made sure I was comfortable at all times! Has a really light hand, did not hurt the way I anticipated. He even brought out his party hat!!!! My best friends had Victor if I'm not mistaken and he was super chill as well!
Sent an email to Robert Rios and he asked me to come in to speak with him within a couple days. We sat down, planned out the piece and within a week I had gotten amazing work done on my forearm! Couldn't have asked for a better artist or better masterpiece. Thank you Robert! Thank you Dark Hearts

Been following Johnathan on IG for about a year. And finally decided to pull the trigger and get my newest tattoo done by him. Let me just say, WOW. That man does amazing work. From the moment i walked in, it was good vibes. Clean and neat. Johnny is a kind person. Made sure I felt comfortable through the whole tattoo. Held great convo throughout the process. This was my first tattoo done by him and it will not be my last. I will be back in the future to get more work done by this awesome artist.
Got a tattoo here this month. The work is great, but the communication, pricing, and the work pace are very much lacking in my experience. For tattoo newbies, I've been getting tattoos for over 15 years. For customers, pricing by the piece is best, as you know the total price from the beginning so nothing is a surprise, you can assess if what you're getting is worth the money you will be putting in, and you can avoid issues, such as artists working at a slow pace to optimize their gains from tattoo sessions. Your deposit is also, typically, used towards the tattoo's total price, but here, that's not the case. For my experience here, I was scheduled for an appointment when I guess the shop was closed. An honest mistake, no big deal, even though we started over an hour past my scheduled time Again, accidents happen, it's no biggie. I was not told of the by the hour pricing until the night before the appointment and after I had already given my deposit. I had messaged the artist a couple weeks before asking what I could expect to pay with no response, and remessaged him after the confirmation message to make sure I had what I needed. I was also not told the deposit would not be put towards my tattoo until a conversation I had with the artist after the appointment. I had messaged the artist, a bit upset about the amount of work that had been completed in the 4 hour, or 800 dollar, session that I had paid for. He did apologize for how I felt and did offer a solution, that i did not take him up on. I'm used to working with artists, such as Rockabilly Ray (LA) and Tattoo JR (Whittier), who have a lot of experience, do quality art, by the piece pricing, and are artists who complete tattoos in a reasonable time frame. I understand, all artists are different in style, work-pace, etc., but I find it's easier for artists to take longer, intentionally or not, when they're being paid by the hour. For example, there was a lot of checking his phone and needle not on skin during my tattoo session, allowing the skin to relax several times and going back at skin making it tender, which is not a practice I'm used to, even with pay by the piece sessions. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with the pain, but typically, artists understand how to work the skin, so this doesn't happen as it's an unnecessary inconvenience to clients and their experience. Overall, the art is good. I have no issue with the art itself. There were a couple of elements that I wish were included, that were in the reference pictures I had sent the artist, such as chunky jewelry and flowers. I was not shown the piece the artist had until the moments before tattooing, so I just went with it, as we were already behind my original appointment by more than an hour at that point. The artist was not heavy handed, seemed nice, and did make me comfortable, thus giving the experience 2 stars. The people there seemed nice overall and the shop was clean. I hope if you're new, or not, to tattooing, you know that there are options. There are plenty of great artists out there to choose from and you don't necessarily have to overpay. Asking the right questions is key to knowing what kind of service you will get. I had been getting tattoos for so long, I figured things worked the same across the industry, not realizing there are a lot of new shops/ pop up instagram artists looking to take advantage of unsuspecting clients. Not saying this guy was that, he seemed like a real artist and not some random Instagram tattooer. My experience here was not good, but there are plenty of reviews that say they had great experiences. To each their own. Be safe out there, happy tattooing. I have included a couple of pictures so you can see what I received for my 1000 dollars (200 deposit (not used towards tattoo), and 800 for the 4 hour tattoo session). I did not tip the artist, which is something I've never done in over 15 years, i typically tip 25% at least and had planned to do that here if not for the experience and what, I perceived as, milking for more sessions. When I look at the tattoo, what I see is great, however, it's incomplete. It comprises of only the outline and minimal shading, and i felt like it should have been more along than it is, but i could very well be wrong. I only have 1 other piece bigger than this, so I don't have much to reference. Maybe I've gotten spoiled by other great tattoo artists that give me great pieces that I feel good spending a lot of money on. This, unfortunately, is not one of those tattoos that i feel good about what I've paid for what I've gotten, so i will not be returning to complete the piece, but I learned a lot from the experience and am glad that others have had great experiences here, even if mine wasn't so great.
Today I went in as a walk-in, they set me with an artist pretty quickly. I've been here before, 6 years ago, and it has changed a bit since and not in a bad way!! The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The prices a fair!! I had the honor of having Art Meza as my artist. He is super fun and funny. Definitely made the time go by fast. I really enjoyed working with him today. I'll definitely be back before another 6 years go by. The facility is nice and clean and I'd highly recommend coming here. All the artists here are very skilled.
After doing some research on local parlors and artists i decided to try Dark Hearts for my first tattoo. I was not disappointed! the parlor itself is beautiful and clean and my artist #Breeebaby_tattoos did an amazing job! I showed up for my session and she was all ready with my requested design stencils in 3 different sizes for me to pick from. i was amazed how quick it was! The tattoo took about 45 minutes and i have had absolutely zero irritation or soreness. I will definitely be back for an arm tattoo once i save up. i could not have asked for a better first tattoo experience!

I wanted to share my honest review as someone who just got their first tattoo. When you walk in, the staff is super friendly and welcoming. The place is clean and nice. The artist, James, is super chill. I highly recommend this place! I was a bit nervous at first, but that went away quickly because of how nice and chill everyone is there. I had the honor of getting Jeff Figaroa (@ figoroa_ink on instagram) as my tattoo artist. I came in with a complex problem. I needed my sleeve that another artist started and failed at to be fixed/reworked. The plan and ideas Jeff put into the piece so far have gone way past my expectations and what I thought possible. He was very professional and I'm so happy to have found him. It's still a work and progress but I'm not embarrassed to show my arm anymore. Please please please book with him, the man is talented! Doing an updated review because I love my tattoo by Miyo so much; she's done 3 out of my 4 tattoos and each time I leave Dark Hearts, I'm extremely happy with the outcome of her work. I've always been a huge fan of horror movies and I knew that I wanted Tarman tattooed on me somewhere (for those of you who don't know, he's an infamous zombie from The Return of the Living Dead made in the 80's). So I made an appointment with Miyo once again and as expected, she did an exceptional job! She essentially brought my tattoo to life; the zombie is dripping of goo, he looks creepy, which I love! I've gotten so many compliments already! I always recommend my friends to this shop because the quality of their work here is amazing. Not many shops can compare to this one and I'm so grateful that I found it. I'll be booking another appointment with Miyo soon! :) read more

I have waited years to get this tattoo and I am so happy I decided to come to Dark Hearts! I did have to wait for an appt time weeks out, but it was worth it. My artist was Art and he was everything I could've hoped for. He was professional, considerate, polite and thoughtful. He was truly concerned about the quality of my tattoo and what would look best in regards to size and coloring. The micro details are what most impressed me (see the hummingbird towards the bottom right). Once I saw my tattoo, it almost brought me to tears seeing my dream become a reality. Seeing Art also be proud of his work made me even more confident that I had made the right choice. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! It is very clean inside and everyone was really nice! They offer water and snacks when you come in and check you in really quickly. I got my tattoo done by David pozo, he was really nice and awesome! I had came in to get a jack o lantern tattoo and he came up with an amazing tattoo! I get loads of compliments about it! Came in Friday 05/26/2023 about thirty minutes before closing time. Rude on my part, apologies to the artists. I wanted to come back and leave a review because despite my bad manners, Victor agreed to tattoo me. Victor worked three hours past closing to give me this fantastic Aku Aku. To add to the welcoming experience, another artist (Art) recognized my Deftones tattoo and played their music on the shop speakers for me while I waited for Victor to draft his outline. Two hours of work, and a complimentary bag of oreos later, I have this masterpiece. 10/10 would recommend this shop and I'll be coming back for other tattoos in the near future. read more

I found this shop by some recommendations from reddit and the glowing reviews and decided to check it out. I had an idea for a back piece that I've been sitting on for a while until I found the right artist for the job. I researched all of the artists at the shop and decided that I was gonna get it done by robert since I was super impressed with his work. Let me tell you I was not disappointed at all! The consultation went smoothly and his enthusiasm for the design was nice to see. We got the design done in two sessions and I could not be happier with the results or any part of the process.
