Pricing is not the only questions asked if we are assessing for your companies capabilities which judging by your responses to these poor reviews, is not much. Gave them a call to assess if this would be a good choice to file my taxes this year as i am new to the area/state. Upon calling, she answered a few of my questions but continuously referenced me to the website in which i did have open. I proceeded to mention that chatting is easier for me to understand and will look at the website after. MISTAKES that cost me Money!! We have used Tax Gals for tax years 2022/23/24 and had to stop using them for 2025 because of errors in filing, slow communication and mistakes. The biggest error was their failure to file Form 568 for my LLC for TY 23 and 24, costing us over $600 in fines and interest from the state, even though that form was in TY 2022. Terri takes on too many clients and I have found is not responsive to phone calls (left on the company message system, emails and trying to contact her through other staff members. Once tax season is over, forget trying to get a response. I am having to file a small claims court suit over recovering the fees our business has incurred due to their failure to file a form. Should I have known about the form that needs to filed? Probably but isn't that why I hire "professionals"? read more

I have been going to Tax Gals for years, I met with a new Tax preparer this year, Nasi, and while she was nice during the visit my tax report had some typos and mistakes in it that I noticed after my visit. The more I think about it the more I feel as though this was not really handled correctly and I don't feel comfortable having to pay $95 for a tax report that has mistakes and typos on it. I will unfortunately not be going back to Tax gals in the future. read more

I just received a notice from the IRS stating Nasi made a $2000 simple subtraction error on a very simple filing; I ended up paying the IRS rather than getting a refund. When I have tried to contact someone at the office, no response. I have no direction re: getting that refund. Plus I had earlier questions about estimated taxes -- and Nasi told me to call back after the tax season. Consequently the IRS notice about the error also fined me for failing to submit an estimate. I was initially scheduled with Kathy, whom I think was a seasoned tax advisor, but my confidence with this office now leads me to find a new firm. read more

We have used Yazuly at the tax gals for 4 years and she was amazing. We were informed when we made our 2026 tax appointment that she is no longer with the company so we decided to work with somebody else at the company. They assigned is to Nasi, who is new with the company and we wanted to give her a chance, but she doesn't seem to be as knowledgeable as our previous tax gal. She's not the best at listening and doesn't seem to understand how to do complex tax returns with short-term rental property, real estate agent right offs to get the most write offs. I think it was unprofessional that when we made our appointment that they didn't tell us that they moved up to the third floor from the first floor so we had to follow somebody else who had struggled to find them to even get to their office and once we did, we met with our new tax person and then we're told we had to pay an $85 deposit which seems odd after being a long-term customer but we did it. We were sent a review request via email before we even have our taxes done yet. We just don't feel that there is professional as the experiences that we had with Yazuly so we will be taking our tax return for 2025 to get a second opinion. read more

I had the worst experience that anybody could have: A shock tax bill of $20K. My financial files from my investment accounts were submitted to Terri Kirk at the end of 2024. I submitted the rest of my tax information a month before taxes were due because I was dealing with ID theft, and we agreed that an extension should be filed. I prompted Terri to let me know if I should pay anything in April to avoid penalties and Terri told me that I would likely be due a refund. I asked her to check. I then got tax bills from the IRS and FTB that came to over $20K. When I followed up with Terri, she told me that she had never opened the main financial files so did not realize that I had capital gains that exceeded those of the previous year (which she also filed). I am still dealing with FTB penalties due to late payments. Last year, I referred a friend to The Tax Gals and they made an error on his return too, estimating a rebate of over $3k which was grossly incorrect. I requested a refund of my payment for the services received by Taxgals due to their omissions and the extra financial penalties that they caused, but my request was refused. I could not recommend this organization under any circumstances. read more

New to area also .we had a great tax person in Orange county but older and cutting back. So decided to look around found this called got much older woman .went to meet her she spent 30 minutes with me and was rushing out to an appointment she had , shoved some paper and left . She said she would get back to me about if they could be electronic filed . Did not hear anything until about 8:30 pm texted for about 5 min then she never responded again. I tried in the morning still nothing ( remember I paid $150 dollars for this treatment) I had to reach out to another person in office who was not very pleasant either I got a copy and rushed to UPS to pay for two day delivery.. we are now going over the return to amend it and I sent my only copy to IRS . I went yesterday so I would have some copy charged $25 more 2 pages is all I got. Very rude and sure they know everything. When I finally spoke to the woman who did them late the next after sent she was very rude and judgemental. When you almost $200 to do a job it is not your right to be rude. I sold real estate for ten years if I judged my clients I would not have any. They happily took more money and I had to file them and never had any of my questions answered so going over and paying a second person. Amazing to take $200 and no real help. read more

Communication was great -- I received frequent check-ins and they quickly responded to each of my inquiries. The company is privacy and security conscious and uses a secure portal to upload/download confidential files. While there are no CPAs at the company, they're still able to assist with the vast majority of tax-related functions. It was nice to meet Yazuly in person (one can do it remotely). I have to say, bar none, this was the BEST tax experience I have EVER had. I tried doing them myself, never again, then I used a guy from Colorado who charged be $400. and then I couldn't even download and print my final returns! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE TAX GALS.
