The wait staff was nice but we waited over 55 minutes for one hot dog and there was a customer that acted out and there was barely an apology from the restaurant. What a fun place to stumble upon! While trying to kill time before a lunch reservation, we walked in for a quick bite and an afternoon beer. The outdoor environment is SUCH a blast in the summer. It is so bright and welcoming. I loved playing the ring hook game while waiting for my food. The draft beer and food menu were solid. The layout is sort of narrow and long so you feel a little bit close to people, no matter where you choose to sit. Ordering is done at the counter and then they will bring your food out to you. I don't know why I haven't reviewed The Thirsty Pig sooner. We discovered it maybe about ten years ago, I wasn't such an adventurous eater. My brother got a chili dog and I had a plain hot dog and I regretted my choice when his came out. We've been many many times since then and OMG, it is so delicious! We visit our parents up here and we hit up The Thirsty Pig pretty often. The hot dogs themselves are super tasty and the toppings are so good. My favorite is the Market Street, everything about it is divine. The buffalo chicken dip is also really good and so is the Porkland Philly. We love it so much, I bought myself, my husband and my brother a shirt! I'm bummed they got rid of their pasta salad, it was the perfect side dish. I wish we had a place like this at home. I was very disappointed on how i was treated at the Thirsty Pig last night. I'm blind and entered the bar with my seeing eye dog and a friend, excited to listen to some live music. The bar tender said we would need to sit outside because we had a dog with us. Both myself and my friend tried to explain to her that i'm handicapped and my dog is a highly trained service animal and I have the legal right to sit wherever I please. Despite our best efforts to educate, the bartender persisted in asking us to sit outside claiming its the policy of the bar. This "policy" directly conflicts with both federal and state laws that are put in place to protect people with disabilities. Very disappointing. read more

They were busy, lots of people wanting food after the event - but service was friendly, the deck was fabulous and the drinks were yummy. We came in July ànd thé sun barely touched the patio spot (asphalt area not the deck) so our arctic-pups were perfectly shaded in 90° summer weather. The beer is sublime. Went into Thirsty Pig on a whim while strolling downtown with a friend. The interior decor is really cool -- VCR tapes near the bar, figurines displayed, obscure board games/mazes on the counter. You can even request a movie to be played. I got a Tubular and the Viking hot dog, while my friend got the Chili Bomb on a red snapper. Mine came with caramelized onions, bacon, cheddar, Thai aioli, and BBQ sauce. Honestly could not really taste the aioli as it was overpowered by the BBQ. As a non meat-eater and someone who doesn't enjoy beer, I had steered clear of The Thirsty Pig for years. Can I just say: what a mistake that was! I had no idea they had a veggie dog (which is delicious and indistinguishable from the real thing). As for drinks, I opted for the Orange Creamsicle Cider. There have been countless times where I've been let down by a cider promising a sweet flavor only to drink something that tastes like dirt. This looked, smelled, and tasted EXACTLY like an orange creamsicle. Can't recommend it enough! The service is efficient and friendly. The outdoor back patio is beyond pleasant; plenty of seating and a variety of it for different party sizes. Look out upon the streets of Old Port or the vine-covered walls of the backside of the building. Although the place is more casual, feel free to dress up or down, there seems to be no judgement either way. My one complaint is that the live music was far too loud for anyone (including the cashier) to hear each other! Overall, a great spot for apps, hot dogs, and drinks (beer or cider especially).
