This is my 2nd or 3rd review for Andys in the past 2-4 years. From my first order to tonight they make the best pizza for me every single time. I have ordered many things off of their menu. Every order is " just what I wanted". I opened this pizza box , camera ready and He'll no! This pie is hot out of the oven!! I had to enjoy a piece before the photo. I have my priorities. If you haven't checked Andy's Old Port Pub out-- you should

This welcoming pub is conveniently located in the heart of the Old Port. Plenty of seating, including a back room that can be used for private functions, a full bar, and an assortment of pub fare. Stopped in with a friend to share an app and a libation (or two!) and sat in the bar area. Service was prompt and friendly, especially Joey, who came out from the kitchen to chat us up (making sure we liked scallions) and asked if we wanted him to take our photo. (We did!). Andy's is a great option when you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and reasonable prices. You might even get to hear live music depending on when you drop in. What's to say? This is Andy's. A local stop for islanders waiting for the ferry. Out of the hub-bub - local bar here in Portland. Try the homemade wafer thin chips. Ummmmmm. This is NOT a touristy place. Comfortable and friendly!

In search of breakfast on a Saturday morning in Portland at 9a. Tried a few places but many had lines out the door. Headed to a place on Fore and Franklin when we drove past Andy's and read their Breakfast sign in the window, a few feet away, a parking spot. I like to think of there is a parking place in front of, or within eye shot of the establishment, it is meant to be. Got assistance up the stairs since I am still in a cast, and entered to find the place pretty empty, a good sign or no? We will see. Bartender was the server, friendly and quick service. Two house Bloody Mary's and one Captains Breakfast for me and an Andy's bowl for my man. Bloody's were spicy! I could feel the horseradish on my taste buds wowza! Now to be honest, I like mine on the bland side, so for the average person, it was very good. The decor is sports, soccer to be specific, I find this refreshing since most places are Football, Baseball, or Basketball themed in nature. I'm a soccer fan and found that so is my husband! Two sorter games were playing. While waiting we noticed a group gathering in the back room, asked what was going on and Andy's is the meet up location for the "Foodie tour" for a cruise ship in town. They take people to 4-5 different places to try the food here in Portland. Food came out in a timely fashion and looked good on first glance then as I started to eat found everything to be entirely too salty. Bacon was thick sliced but over done, crumbled when I picked it up and lacked bacon flavor mostly salty. Potatoes were given a healthy dose of course sea salt as well. 4 slices of bread, a really good portion of food. After a few bites I knew I wouldn't be able to eat any more of the bacon or the potatoes. My husband noticed me not eating the bacon, my favorite, and told me to send it all back. When the bartender came to see how things were I explained to him and he was good to take the items that were over done and too salty to make it right!!! With in 10 minutes new fresh food was brought out and soo much better. The menu is simple and straightforward, pancakes and waffles round out the menu of breakfast staples. I'd recommend if you want food service, a stiff Bloody Mary ($5 each) and a not so busy atmosphere to enjoy your meal.

Came here on a Monday evening and was able to walk from our hotel. Inside has nice atmosphere to hang out and have a drink. Menu has a regular bar food and food was average. Nothing crazy. I ordered a french onion soup. It didn't come out with the other items because the server took it back because the cheese wasn't all the way melted. Nice of her to take it back but it was still a little cold when it came out. Would definitely just come and get a drink next time!

Andy's Old Port Pub is a traditional American pub & restaurant that opened in Portland, Maine in June 2007. It was founded by Rick Frantz and his wife Jennifer Fox. Rick named the venture "Andy's" after a childhood friend of his. In November 2019, after "a cacophony of incidents that all kind of came at the same time" (including a broken walk-in refrigerator), Rick and Jennifer decided to close Andy's. The following year, Andy's was purchased and re-opened by husband and wife John and Tanya Lowell. John had served as a manager at Andy's prior to its 2019 closure. The Lowells transformed the business into a soccer pub and adorned it with soccer jerseys and various memorabilia. Andy's is thought of as a beloved haunt for locals, fishermen, music lovers, soccer fanatics, and some of the finest chefs and hospitality workers in Portland. My extended family and I visited Andy's Old Port Pub for dinner this past summer while we were vacationing in Maine. We were looking for a good dinner spot that had an eclectic menu, decent prices, and child-friendly options. Andy's came highly recommended on Yelp. A quick look around the interior told me that this was a well-loved local watering whole. The back dining room even had a billiards table and some old arcade cabinets. I started off with a draught pour of Oxbow Brewing's "Luppolo" (Italian Pilsner) and a cup of delicious "New England Clam Chowder". My wife and I also shared a plate of "Fried Green Tomatoes" (w/ horseradish aioli). They really hit the spot. For entrees, I had the "Shrimp Po' Boy" (fried shrimp tucked in a French style roll w/ shredded lettuce, diced tomato, red pepper aioli and a side of fries), my wife had the "Greek Salad" (Kalamata olives, feta, mixed greens, tomato, red onion, green pepper, pepperoncini, grilled chicken, house-made Mediterranean dressing), and our older son had a "Shrimp Quesadilla". Everything was delicious! Our other family members loved their food too. I washed everything down with a refreshing pour of "Allagash White". Overall, we had an excellent dining experience at Andy's and we were happy that we discovered it!

You go to Andy's for the food you go to Andy's for the Vibe you go to Andy's for the atmosphere you go to Andy's for the customer service- something special is happening here. Popped in as we were passing through town based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The food is amazing. The people here are great, and the customer service is fantastic.

Andy's Old Port Pub is the definition of a classic pub experience! With bar seating and cozy side tables with some table games, it has that laid-back vibe perfect for a night out. What instantly drew me in was the awesome live music they had on Saturday night. The performers not only took requests but made it interactive and fun if you tipped or bought them a drink, it really added to the lively atmosphere. The staff were hustling, with a couple of bartenders working both the floor and bar. Be patient with them and they'll get to you, and when they do, they're incredibly friendly and make an effort to remember your name. Ryan, our bartender, was fantastic who is a true Mainer who made us feel right at home. The food and drinks rounded out the experience. I came for the Maine Mean Old Tom with its "nitro" kick, which kept me going through the night (might be too strong and bitter for some haha). The pulled pork poutine was the perfect snack for the party because of it was rich, flavorful, and satisfying. My only small wish for the dish was few more fries to soak up that incredible sauce! Whether you're bar-hopping or just looking for a spot with great vibes, good food, and friendly service, Andy's Old Port Pub is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back for the live music and that welcoming, local charm!

Stopped here the other night specifically for Maine Lobster week. They had their menu on the website and it looked really good but they said they weren't doing it. That was super disappointing. We ended up just getting the cheeseburger egg rolls and they were good. I have eaten here a couple times and it's decent but not amazing. Some of the prices are a little pricey. The drinks are decently priced and good. They also have live music a lot. I would suggest coming for a drink and live music but not sure about the food.

We visited Andy's on a wintery March afternoon. Street parking wasn't too hard to find and was free (on Sunday). Perhaps it was due to the weather and call-outs but there was only one gentleman doing it all as far as behind the bar and table service. He did a decent job juggling it all but another person would have been beneficial. If you do find yourself waiting, behind the bar did offer some fun board games to keep you busy. Overall, the food was just okay and pretty overpriced for what you got. The nachos still came will jalapeño even though I requested none. A side of fries never came. The chicken that went with the waffles was incredibly dry. Everyone tried a bite of my daughter's Mac n cheese/pulled pork wrap and we all agreed it wasn't great. The pizza was basic. The only thing that was pretty good was the French onion soup. For one adult, two teenagers and a 7 year old to each get a meal, one app to share amongst all of us and two sodas (two of us just had water), the bill was $130 after adding in a 20% tip. This was basic pub food at best. I know prices have increased and they're probably paying a hefty rental fee being in the Old Port, but there are so many other better places to eat within walking distance.

Fun bar right on the street. Very nice staff. Food came out quick and all orders were correct. Visiting from the Midwest.

We were looking for an alternative for lunch since where we tried to head to was closed and found Andy's. We got seated pretty quickly since it was a late lunch and it wasn't really busy. Our server was a little distracted, if I had to describe it. We ordered a couple of beers (an IPA and a Blueberry Ale) which were pretty great for a hot day. For food I ordered a chowder and roll (clam chowder and clam roll) and my girlfriend got the taco trio. I got the clam roll instead of shrimp but I was so hungry I dealt with it along with a barely warm clam chowder. Shrimp was crispy but the roll was kinda just plain and not buttery or really seasoned. My girlfriend thought her tacos were decent, nothing special. It took a while to get our check as well as our server kind of forgot and someone else had to help us out. Not my favorite place in Portland so far, was hoping for better.

It has old school vibes when you step inside with plenty of exposed brick walls and art/decor on many of the walls too. As well as quite a few TVs like you'd expect most bars/pubs to have. It certainly has a vibe overall where I can understand those who live nearby would make it their go-to choice for a beer or a bite to eat by themselves or with friends or to catch a game on the TVs. The visits me and my wife have had including bringing out of state family to visit have been good service wise with minimal complaints but at times waits for food have been longer than expected even when restaurant was not busy. Could use some improvement but minimal. Food wise I have had a burger from them, their mac n cheese, as well as some other sandwiches. I would kind of classify the food in a similar way as the service. It is good but doesn't leave me wowed or thinking I need to return for the meal. It's solid for bar/pub food. If you set your expectations in that manner, I think you will leave quite pleased. A great spot to pop in from commercial street after a day of walking around for a cold drink and a bite to eat.
