This place is very intimate which allows you to interact with the comedian. It's best to get here early to get your preferred seat. There are board games for you to play at your seat before and after the show. You can also give the comedian ideas of things to talk about. There's a small area to get drinks and snacks. I only took a star off because we were under the impression that we can stay for multiple shows if we have a season pass. Apparently the 8:30pm show sells out so we were told we had to leave to make room for the next guests. That was a disappointment because we planned our evening around staying for a second show.

I have been here a couple of times to catch a midweek comedy show or a spontaneous show on the weekend. This is honestly a hidden gem in Brooklyn. If you buy their tickets in advance on line, you get them at such a decent price. The shows are an hour and a half long with a great set of amateur comedians. I have had my best laughs at this comedy club than at an expensive club in the city. The building itself is not the cleanest and the room where the shows are held is not the nicest but the point is to go here to have a good time. They sell white claws, wines and beers for a good price and snacks such as popcorn to enjoy during the show. If you are ever in the neighborhood, you will not regret checking this place out.

    A local beer? I think.

First time in this place & it was great. We went out of spontaneity. We went for an 8pm show and after it ended the host lets you know that you can stay for the next show if you want to. But you have to buy a drink from the bar. The comedians were ranging from 80% funny to 110% funny. The host was really good about cheering on whoever was on stage and letting the crowd know laughs are encouraged and claps are supported.

Amazing cozy little place for stand-up comedy. The Tiny Cupboard seats 60-80, and they have multiple shows every night. The comedians are pretty funny and do lots of crowd-work, which I enjoy. Just be mindful that the late shows (ie. 10 PM) don't have many people, so please show some extra love for those people!

We went for my mother's birthday. The jokes were hilarious when they were, and laughable when they weren't so funny. The wines were good, and we got comfortable seating arriving five minutes late, but the house was full and we had a great night. Definitely coming back!

Cool rooftop venue. Comics were very entertaining.. strangely the 5 or 6 comics before the headliner were better than the headliner lol but everybody got plenty of laughs out of us! Host was great too. Would love to support again next time i'm in New York!

The drinks are reasonably priced, and I highly recommend the Negroni--it was excellent. Our bartender was friendly, attentive, and made everyone feel welcome. One of the bar's most charming features is that it's service-animal friendly. During our visit, a friendly husky wandered around greeting patrons, adding to the relaxed, neighborhood feel. They also have a resident kitten named Whisky, who was equally sociable after waking from his nap. The food menu is small, but the pigs in a blanket were surprisingly delicious. Another nice touch is that they encourage guests to bring in food from nearby restaurants, making it easy to enjoy a meal alongside your drinks. The Evergreen is a cozy neighborhood dive bar tucked into a residential corner of Bushwick, at the intersection of Moffat Street and Evergreen Avenue--a fitting inspiration for its name. The interior has a dark, rustic character that feels authentic and inviting. Open until 4:00 AM every night, it's an ideal spot for both an after-work drink and a late-night gathering. The bar is welcoming to everyone and has a great atmosphere. There are plenty of ways to stay entertained with shuffleboard, pinball machines, and arcade games, with a small outdoor space perfect for summer nights. Overall, The Evergreen is a friendly, unpretentious neighborhood gem with great drinks, warm hospitality, and plenty of personality. I'll definitely be returning.

This show was the first of two in the USA with the second being on the West Coast. It would start on the very early side (3PM) so I headed out there via the MTA and while the ride was long, it was more straightforward than I would have first thought. There are currently quite a few clubs for shows like this in Bushwick and Williamsburg but today's adventure was going to be my very first time at Purgatory. Once onsite, I went in to meet with the artists manager since I was going to do some PiercingMetal stuff at the show. The bar part was not yet open but its a nice sized bar with plenty of chairs around it and a couple of smaller lounge areas that I really liked the vibe of. Outside in the front there were a number of small tables and chairs forming a sort of patio space. Their rather remote location probably let's them do this with relative ease and the train is right near them so if you're out there you can watch them go back to the city or deeper into Brooklyn. There was also a photo booth area downstairs if you like that kind of stuff. Upstairs is a small but rather awesome concert/event space. The stage is a tight one and I felt that the room itself would fit about 75 people. Spatially speaking, if you've a three piece of guitars, singer and drums you'd be okay but the kit needs to be small or digital and you need to be mindful of the space you have to share. This might be great for an intimate acoustic event or even a live podcast of some kind. I felt that the lighting was good for the artist I got to see and the sound was solid and a nice surprise. There is an upstairs area reachable by a gated stairwell but I think this is for tech and artists waiting to go on stage. There is also a small bar upstairs and an alcove for artists to sell merchandise. I was there to see an artist from Japan named Isiliel, and this was one of her two US shows. I didn't see any notion of food being served at this place so I apologize if they do and I didn't make note of that. There was an open Wi-Fi signal which let me do some social media between groups. Depending on who the performance is from I'd definitely come here again. I don't know the general area so cannot even determine what other options might be around here but the folks behind Purgatory have really set up a cool spot.

Around 6:30pm, it was easy for the four of us to snag a table in the back, near the back patio, but there is some seating in the front part of the restaurant as well. I ordered one of their mezcal cocktails with a Tajín rim (El Amante) which was yummy then we started with an order of chips and salsa, chips and guacamole and esquites. The esquites was fantastic, but we wished the guac was larger and came with more chips. For my entree, I ordered a tripa taco and a cecina taco. I cannot decide between a favorite because they were both so good. The tripa was crispy and tender in all the right places. I was worried about the cecina taco being too salty but that wasn't the case, it was perfection. We all appreciated how they served each taco with double corn tortillas, so they held up well. And of course, we couldn't leave without trying the churros. They were just the right size 2 people to share in my opinion but we were all pretty satisfied by then so we were ok splitting 4 ways. Our waiter was really funny and checked up on us regularly. The music here was also great (a lot of Bad Bunny), and the decor was on point. Good food and a great atmosphere!
