This is a great, hard working program. I have adopted and fostered through this group. They have always been so willing to take in pits, pit mixes and any other hardship case that they can. We fostered a Chihuahua and her pup that these guys rescued from a shelter. The pup didn't make it, but Mama was such a sweet little dog. She went to a great home. I adopted these 2 puppies 18 months apart from The Tiny Pittbull. These 2 are a perfect match for our family! Christine and Forest really care for all their dogs- When I visited their home for the first time I was amazed that everyone got along so well! Rescue dogs were part of the family , lounging around on the porch and in the living room, it was hard to tell who were their pets and who was a rescue! Both of my dogs were chipped and vaccinated in my presence by the rescue. The Tiny Pittbull also arranged for neutering of both my pups, and set up the appointments with two separate veterinarians. The adoption fee covered these services. I was pleased with the care that both these vets provided, and both were pleased that The Tiny Pittbull had found both of these pups a good home. Christine and I communicated often before I adopted my Lucky from her. She seemed genuinely interested in the type of home that we could provide for this rescue dog, and that we would be a good fit for him. She also kept great communication with me, when we decided we may want to add a 2nd rescue to our family, and eventually we found Reilly, through a The Tiny Pittbull. The work that this rescue does is important and necessary, in our community. Christine and Forest work tirelessly, full time at this- to find these rescue dogs their forever homes. I know that they work with many shelters to save as many as possible. This rescue has put out calls for help transporting rescuing dogs, and for temporary foster homes which are always needed. They maintain a FB page for the adopters of their rescued dogs to post updates and continue to be involved with the rescue, and its ongoing endeavors. The owner of this rescue lied to us about vaccinations and adopted us a puppy who was only 6 to 7 weeks old. She told us it was fine to take him on walks anywhere, as our puppy had all of his parvo shots, which contradicted what I had learned about parvo from my work in animal shelters. But she stated she was a cancer survivor and told this inspiring story about how dog rescue helped her recover, which made me feel like I could trust her, as many of my close family members have died from cancer. She also said the $200 adoption fee covers neuter but that we would have to go through her selected veterinarian. This veterinarian would not give us or the dog a pain reliever after the neuter, saying our dog would be fine without it. Later they said it was because the rescue has to buy the pain reliever and they did not. My husband had offered to pay for it because in our experience with previous dogs, they all had been administered anti inflammatory and/or pain reliever post surgery. Weirdly, he was denied the ability to pay for pain reliever, as the vet said that it was up to the rescue and not us. Unfortunately, our puppy did not progress as normally after the surgery. When I tried contacting the rescue, I was ignored. So I took our dog to our veterinarian we know and trust and he ended up having to be hospitalized overnight and almost died due to complications from his neuter. It turned out the neuter was done way too early (at the requirement of the rescue). Our veterinarian said the "vaccination paperwork" provided by the rescue did not make sense: the rescue had said our dog had all his parvo shots, but our veterinarian explained he was way too young to have had all his parvo shots. When I tried to tell the rescue about my concerns about what had transpired, I was blocked on social media and all my calls went unanswered. We needed to sign the final adoption paperwork & get his actual vaccination paperwork to get him licensed, but we were ignored. We even tried to stop by the rescue at the Petaluma Animal Services location but nobody was there. In the end we just paid for all the real vaccinations since we have no idea which vaccinations he actually received. Avoid this rescue like the plague. It seems they are a for profit posting as a non profit, at the expense of the dogs. read more

While there are many wonderful dogs at this rescue, the woman who runs the rescue is unprofessional and unethical. She is arrogant, self congratulating, and only in rescue for her ego, not the dogs. I fostered for Tiny Pitbull multiple times. Christine will lie to you and tell you puppies are crate and house trained when they are not. Worst of all, she'll tell you puppies are fully vaccinated and protected from Parvo when they are not! She gave me a 10 week old puppy to foster and told me he was fully vaccinated, ready for walks, etc. That didn't sound right, so I contacted the vet and they told me no way is this dog fully protected against parvo at 10 weeks. When I asked Christine about it, she said they started vaccinating him early. Even if that were true, puppies need repeat boosters until 16 weeks to be fully protected. As others have said, it's very very hard to get vaccination or medical records from her. She will not return your calls for days, if at all. She talks crap about potential adopters that don't work out or need to bring back dogs for any reason. Please go to a more professional, ethical, and honest rescue that has the dogs best interest in mind. Got very lucky with our rescue pup from Christine and Tiny Pitbull. She and this organization are a FOR PROFIT organization. Her claims that it is a non-profit are completely false. The horrible vet that she made us take our puppy to get spayed at (yes, she "adopts" out unaltered animals regularly) no longer work with her as she stopped paying them the money she took for adoption fees that are to cover those surgeries. They did not offer any after surgery for medication for our sweet girl nor any real guidelines for after surgery help. We had a complication following her surgery reached out the vet and Christine and received no response until we reached out to the vet again, 48 hours later. And this was the best vet that she could find to partner with? And now they won't even work with her?! She adopts out sick dogs - Parvo, Kennel Cough, fleas, ticks - you name it she will find a way to flip that dog, make money off of the dog/adopter and ghost out. The conditions of her home i.e. her adoption facility is disgusting and this is where she keeps YOUNG puppies from many different litters together. She does not give them any shots, no wonder they get sick and die. Yes, people have unknowingly adopted very sick dogs from her and have had to turn around and put the dog down. She gets dogs from other shelters, then sells them to new owners and pockets the money. Let's be honest, she is selling dogs, as again, this is a for profit, she posted and sent to a donor, a completely FAKE 501c3 letter. I'm compelled to share my review even though my husband and I are in love with our dog. I found a dog who I was interested in via the website "Rescueme.org," a resource for rescues and shelters, where they can post their animals for adoption. This site brought me to the Tiny Pitbull website where the dog I was interested in was available. I created an application and heard from Christine almost immediately. We were instructed to come to one of their upcoming adoption events where we could meet the dog and hopefully take her home for a foster-to-adopt. Upon meeting Christine it was quickly apparent that she was scattered, overwhelmed, and trying to move dogs out quickly (i.e. didn't seem to have the dogs best interest in mind just wanted people to take them home). We quickly spied the dog we were interested in, took her for a short walk around the block, and decided to foster-to-adopt. Once Christine heard this she quickly threw paperwork at us to sign and did not give us ANY paperwork on the dog's past history or medical records. --I think it is important to note here that this is not normal practice for rescues or shelters, usually they want to give you as much information as possible to ensure it is the best fit for all parties. It is incredibly important for you to know if the dog has past behavioral issues or medical issues so that you can be prepared to handle any behavioral issues or pay for the upkeep of any medical issues.-- Within the first week we noticed that our dogs hind legs were shaking and that they were having trouble sitting. When I reached out to Christine to inquire about medical records, I was told that they do not provide these records until you adopt --again, a red flag --why not provide all pertinent information up front to ensure a positive adoption? In spite of this my husband and I decided it was worth the gamble and that we would adopt. We were willing to take on the cost of potential hip issues if it turns out they have them --first vet appointment is to happen later this week --but what if someone else had adopted this dog and hadn't noticed the hip issues? What if they couldn't afford to take care of the dog? In the end my husband and I are in love with our sweet dog. That said, I can't in good faith give this rescue a good review and I definitely wouldn't recommend them to a friend. My advice to the owner --slow down. Get a handle on what is involved in running a rescue so that you can learn to best support the animal and keep their best interest in mind. Look into Department of Agriculture guidelines and ensure you are following them. Research the best practices of other CA rescues and take some pointers from them. We adopted a pup that ended up having kennel cough even though she insisted that they had no kennel cough at their place. Gave us an antibiotic to take once a day, he was getting worse. Would not let us take him to our own vet. Took him to her vet he confirmed he had kennel cough. We went ahead with the adoption, took him to our own vet, was treated and recovered. However she has never us the paperwork, we have no proof he was every vaccinated. It cost us 324.00 to prevent illness and treat our other dogs. If I could give no stars I would. This place needs to be shut down. We don't even know if he was really vaccinated because she won't give us the paperwork. read more

I wish I could review Christine and Tiny Pitbull netter, but I wish I listened to the other yelpers here. I think Christine does a great jog rescuing as many dogs as possible, but she is irresponsible, unresponsive, and unethical person. I went through her foster to adopt program and fostered a darling puppy. When I got the puppy home, it would be coughing all night. I called Christine and she said it was normal and would go away soon. After a few days, I called her back about it not getting better and she did not return my calls. I took the dog to my vet and they suspected it could have been Bordetella (kennel cough.) The vet asked for the immunization records and I caled Christine about it and this time she texted e back, insulting y vet saying they dont know what they are talking about and that it was just the common cold. She had me come pick up some antibotics from her to give to the puppy. The puppy was getting better. Tiny Pitbull's foster to adopt program is only 2 weeks long, so I had to pay y fees and adopt my puppy. As soon as the antibiotics ran out, the cough came back. I had to take her to my vet and then go see a specialist out of town to run tests. Turns out that the puppy did have Bordetella that went so long untreated that it also turned into pneumonia. It took 2 months to clear, 1 lab test, and 3 xrays to make sure she was 100% which cost me about $2000. I called and texted multiple times to let Christine know about this and never got 1 response about it. I even offered to pass on the info to my puppies littermates to save others some tie and money for the diagnosis but she never responded. The other issue is that it has been 6 months now and Christine microchipped my puppy, but she refuses to give me the microchipping info. I keep contacting her about it and she says she has registered it 3 times, but I have no confirmation and no information about the microchiping number. I will be taking the puppy back to the vet to scan the chip and hopefully I can get it taken care of. I have no idea what her deal is or if she just lost the chip # and won't tell me, but she is full of lies. I really wish I could recoomend Tiny Pitbull because she rescues a lot of great dogs, but after all the time and money spent, I would advise everyone to stay away, no matter how cute the dogs she has are! read more

GAVE ME A DOG WITH OVER 30 FLEAS! I met Christine when I was at a pet shelter in the North Bay, she was pulling dogs for her rescue and she gave me her card. I later found a dog on their Facebook page by the name of Jack that was adorable. I reached out through Facebook Messenger and I scheduled an appointment on a Friday to meet him the following Monday. When I arrived I shocked to see that the operation is ran through a filthy home but moved along because I was excited to meet Jack. Christine mentioned that he was afraid but would warm up. I told her I was going to take him to a groomer next and she said there was no point because he had been bathed and had flea medicine. The first night I took him home I found 30 fleas on the poor 3 month old puppy and was horrified. I reached out to Chrisitine and she completely down played the whole situation. The poor animal was terrified to leave its crate and urinated on himself. I reached out again and said I would return Jack the following morning and her response was "k". When I arrived to the home her reaction was " Where is he?" She purposely aggressively got the crate out of my car and scratched my door pannel. She then followed by yelling at me that I did not give the dog enough time and slammed the door in my face and later blocked me on social media so I could not comment. I reported the case to the Sonoma County Animal Services and nothing came from it. I have been fostering dogs and puppies for The Tiny Pitbull for almost 4 years. Christine holds events at local businesses that help out the businesses as well as adopt out many dogs that need homes. Since The Tiny Pit Bull had my previous review removed stating that I didn't have direct experience with them...I'm correcting my review to only reflect my personal experience. The Tiny Pit Bull took a pittie named Leah into their "rescue" that I was actively involved with, along with a group of wonderful women, as far as trying to help find a home for her. The Tiny Pit Bull said they would be sending Leah to board and train at K9 Activity Club in Santa Rosa for training since she had some reactivity toward other dogs, even though she's wonderful with people. Come to find out a couple weeks later that they never told K9 Activity to work on training with her. They just left her locked up all that time with no training (not K9's fault at all - they did what they were instructed, or should I say not instructed to do). Then we found out through the grapevine that TTPB had set up a euthanization appointment for Leah - so we drove straight up there and took Leah back. So my personal experience with them is that they lie, have no qualms about killing an animal that they feel isn't adoptable, or is too much work - and are extremely unethical. I'm happy to say that Leah did find a wonderful home and I got to take her to her new family. Had her fate been left in the hands of Christine DelPonte and TTPB, she'd be dead now. This is not a reputable rescue for this reason and many others. You'll see plenty more evidence of that in other reviews by people who have been burned by her. You'll also notice that all comments on her Facebook and Instagram pages that question what goes on there, or have anything negative to say about her have been deleted by Christine. She also blocks those people. Give that a try and see what happens. read more

I adopted my dog Frankie in March of 2018, his name at the time was Gaspie. I paid my deposit for him and I was to contact Christine to get information on when and where I was to take him to get his shots and set up a date to get him fixed. With in a week we noticed he was very sick, we tried contacting her multiple times and never received a call back. Realizing she was not going to contact us back I took him to our vet and found out he had a very bad case of kennel cough. It took two rounds of anabiotic's and multiple vet visits to get him healthy we ended up getting Frankie fixed and all his shots through our personal vet. Frankie is the sweetest boy and we are so happy to have him However what she did with the money we gave her we will never know. read more

They adopt out sick and unaltered dogs and puppies. They fake vaccination records and they have also been collecting donations and claiming to be a legitimate nonprofit, but they do not have their 501c3. They charge a $250 adoption fee - normally you get a dog who is up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered etc but this is not the case with this rescue. One of their dogs they adopted out was brought to the Humane Society of the North Bay when the owner determined he/she could no longer keep the dog- ethical rescues will take their dogs back and place them in a new, suitable home but this rescue let the dog sit in the shelter for 11 months. Fortunately, a wonderful rescue has picked him up. This "rescue" should be shut down, and the owner should be investigated by authorities. read more

We "adopted" a small dog from the Hardware store where they were having an event. Christine was very interested in showing me the dogs but was clearly annoyed with my million questions. After about 20 minutes she blatantly asked me, Do you want him or not? I did decide to go home with him but only because I was worried about leaving him. We paid our adoption fee online to complete the transaction but we have yet to be contacted to have him neutered which was supposed to be included in the fee and we never received any shot records. Our experience with The Tiny Pitbull has been nothing short of an amazing one. Christine and all the volunteers put their heart and soul into each rescue. They work diligently to get the animals they serve out of terrible living situations, provide the necessary veterinary care immediately and proactively find them loving homes. We were formally introduced to TPB three years ago when we decided to foster to adopt our sweet Shea Shea. She came with all her vaccinations and support to ensure a smooth transition into our home. What an amazing rescue. I reached out to them for help when we found a 3 day old puppy and without hesitation they stepped up to help. I was thrilled. It was great seeing updates of how she was doing on their website. She got to go to one of their adoption events and a family fell in love with her. I was so happy to see her get a home. I found a dog that seemed to be perfect for my family. I found tiny pitiful and spoke to Christine Del Ponte, the founder of the rescue. She seemed really nice, we drove over 2 hours to meet the dog at the foster home it was in and he was perfect. We were told he did not have any medical issues, yet his stool was really runny from the moment we brought him home. Christine recommended pumpkin to make the stool more normal, we called the vet and they advised pumpkin makes stool runny and it was not recommended. We took the dog for a wellness check and found he had a parasite, which is what made the stool really runny. Yet Christine was confident he had been checked and he did not have any issues. We adopted the dog because the vet assured us he would be ok after a few rounds of medication, which we saw improvement in his stool. We requested vet records for the dog as Christine had assured us he had rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella shots, however, all she provided was a pdf file she probably created on her own. We called the shelter she indicated where he received the shots and treatment and they said that dog was never there and did not receive any treatment in their facilities. Christine says she cares about the well being of the dog and offers support even after adoption, yet fails to follow through with providing adequate proof of vet records and lies and then ignores you when you request them. All she cares about is getting the money you pay for the adoption fees. When asking for specific information, she says she will send it to you and it takes a week to process, then when you get the information through other methods, come to find out, she lied and she never registered the dog as she said she did. Why lie? just be up front and most people will understand and be ok with it if you explain the situation. People who adopt dogs care for the well being of their health and want to make sure they get the vaccines they need, yet she fails to provide records even after adoption is complete, ignores you and leaves you to wonder if the dog even got the vaccines she said it did. Completely disappointed with going through her with horrible business habits, completely unprofessional. What people say is true, she ignores you, even when you can tell she has read your messages or comments, she doesn't reply. The dog is not trained as she describes, it has behavior issues, which we specifically asked about and she assured us the dog did not have any behavior or health issues. She just lies to get the dog adopted and moves on to the next. She just cares about the money! Find another rescue and avoid the headache and issues that you will have going through her organization. I have adopted dogs from other rescues and have not had any issues with the dog or organization. My dogs are well trained and I know what to expect when adopting another dog because the other organizations have been honest and forthcoming with the actual behavior of the dog and its health. read more

i adopted a puppy in november 2018 and was told the same as the other posters, the dog had received all vacinations with the exception of rabies. i was told that in one month they would contact me to arrange for the neutering and the rabies and yet heard nothing. i left 3 messages asking for proof of vaccinations, to no avail. didnt even receive a call back. puppies are not allowed at training or socials w/out proof of vaccinations. my puppy may be a belgian malinouis (not a shepard as they thought) and there are know for having an iffy temperment it is recommended to expose them to dogs very early on. not having the vaccinations stopped us from this for over a month. it is a detriment to the dogs to not start training early. i would much rather have spent the extra $200 on the rescue organization instead of a vet. DO NOT ADOPT FROM TINY PITBILLS, i love my puppy but they have proved that they do not care entirely for the wellness of the dogs. oh and he did also come with flees! read more
