We went in the afternoon so it was pretty quiet still, but the bar tenders were friendly and helpful. And although I'm not a huge tequila fan, I was impressed with my drink. Prices were reasonable for the drinks we ordered and this bar being located on Broadway. Definitely worth a visit.

There was no live music available at the time, but they did have a DJ which I thought was spinning the turntable rather well. It's my bad that I didn't also catch on that his is basically a Tequila Bar, rather than a more general craft cocktail establishment. Judging by the well stocked bar and the word of our waitress, other alcohol and their associated craft creations are available, but it's pretty much off menu and not well into our waitress' repertoire. And yes, Cinco de Mayo was just a few days away. One member of our party just wanted a soft drink, which was not possible that night as their CO2 was down. That did make me wonder whether the non-alcohol drinkers had much to chose from here. I suppose we could have then wandered over to the Redemption Bar at Chief's? Anyway, we're not Tequila Drinkers, and since other drink options appeared to be guesswork, we left towards more traditional mixed drinks (and live music) at a nearby Printers Alley bar. This was a rare night that I really wanted a craft cocktail in a smooth environment, and in the end it just wasn't the same.

I felt like I was transported into a whimsical movie scene from the 50's, with all the nostalgic attention to detail, intricate candy selections and homemade goods. It's a magical place for little one's and adults to slow down, be present, connect and let your imagination run wild. Being health conscious, I love that they have sweet options for everyone, with their natural sodas, elixirs, ice cream and locally made fudge and popcorn. My kids love coming here and honestly I do too! It makes me feel that little spark of being a kid again. Definitely a must see!

The entire staff was so patient and kind with my girls. Afterwards, we picked out a few delicious treats and all left smiling ear to ear. The real magic happened after we left. My 4-year old daughter left her absolutely beloved stuffed giraffe in a corner of the bead room and we didn't realize it wasn't in the car until 10 pm at night when we were two hours away in Indiana. I called Bubble Joy at 8 am the next day with little hope as I knew they were closed Mondays and Tuesdays. A very nice young man answered immediately and indicated he would text his manager (Kristen) and ask her. Kristen hadn't seen "Giraffee" but offered to go in on her day off to look. SHE FOUND IT. And shipped it to us the next morning. I cannot describe how grateful I am and how happy she made my 4 year old little girl. Thank you so so much!

When Jonny Weber took over earlier this year, we were genuinely excited, we've always enjoyed his work at Country Boy in Leiper's Fork and Zolo's, and you can immediately feel the difference at Gray's The entertainment quality is noticeably upgraded. The staffing is dramatically improved, from the hostess stand to the servers, the attitude shift alone makes a world of difference. The menu has seen subtle but smart changes: keeping some of the old favorites while adding more sophisticated choices that elevate the dining experience. We're also glad to see a more efficient layout for the second floor stage area and dining area. When an owner can pick up extra seating without impacting other diners, that's smart business, more revenue for him, and ultimately better cost control that helps keep prices down for all of us. Our only hiccup this visit was the kitchen. The Sweet Pineapple Chili Drumsticks were really good, and all the orders were correct and arrived together. But both halibut plates and the the pork chop were all overdone, and the carrot cake was overly chilled. Timing and coordination are huge parts of a dining experience, and we expect those issues will get ironed out as the team settles in. Even with that, the overall improvement is undeniable. The direction Jonny is taking Gary's on Main is exactly what this spot needed, and we fully expect the kitchen to catch up to the rest of the operation. We'll be part of that future.

My fiancé and I are getting married next week, and they surprised us with complimentary champagne, which was such a nice touch. We started with the lobster bisque and the Caesar salad. The Caesar was your standard salad, nothing that stood out, but the lobster bisque was rich, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights. They also had a great selection of cocktails and beer to choose from. For our main we split a NY Strip with mashed potatoes. Now I'm usually a ribeye guy, but I have to say this steak was cooked to perfection. It melted in your mouth, and the butter they used was spectacular. The mashed potatoes were a touch dry for my taste, though my fiancé loved them. The best part might be the atmosphere. You can feel the history the moment you walk in, and the live piano playing in the background ties the whole experience together. We will absolutely be back!
