We had a little time to kill on a Saturday afternoon and were getting hungry anyway, so we decided to try Kelley's. We've driven by a hundred times and always wondered what it was like. Kelley's is a classic bar and grill with a comfortable neighborhood feel to it. Service was average and the food was okay. I requested that my burger be cooked medium and it was served well done-at least. I was too hungry to send it back. Fries were hot and tastey. Would I be willing to give them another shot? I kind of wish that I had gotten the regular potato skins. My sister had the buffalo chicken salad. She said it was good. My daughter had a small salad and chili. Both were tasty. I ordered the Grilled Ham and Cheese because they said it had LOTS of ham. That was a false statement! It had like 2 very thin slices of ham on very thick bread. It most definitely was not worth the money. And the onion rings were more breading than onion. They were very mushy and greasy. Don't think I'll be eating there again. read more

I went to Kelly's yesterday for dinner with family. Let me begin my review by saying the ambiance was very nice, country home style restaurant and friendly. The service was great, our waitress was quick to refill our drinks, and checked on us every few minutes to make sure everything was good. As for the food, I ordered the two piece Cod with a side of fries and cottage cheese. But instead of two pieces of Cod they gave me four of them which I appreciated. The fries were also well seasoned, and the cottage cheese was good as well. I could not eat all the fish and took the rest to go for later. Overall this was a great place and I highly recommend it if you're near the area and looking for a good restaurant. We will be back again. read more

Stopped in driving through town. Sat at the bar, had a couple beers and 1/2 orders of fried pickles and shrooms. Bartender/phone order taker/to go order organization was very nice and very efficient. The pickles were very good quality and great coating. The shrooms were smaller which I prefer so you can just pop them in. Homemade ranch was good as well. Great little place. Had a pork tenderloin sandwich with sweet potato fries. Food was delicious, service was great, and family friendly atmosphere.

Kelley's Smashburger was very good, served with seasoned fries, lettuce, tomato onion, my wife had the Hawaiian chicken sandwich, chicken was tender and juicy. Next time I visit my daughter in Kansas I will return. The service was fantastic. read more

We've been going to Kelly's for decades and still do. However the Beef open face and shaved beef sandwich meat has transitioned too salty for our taste. The chicken fried steak taste prepackaged frozen. The sweet tea is perhaps an off brand and leaves an after taste on each drink. The porkchops were revised from a sweet ham steak chop to a thicker cut that we no longer order. The chocolate cream pie crust, filling and topping was not anything that any of us could finish. Kelley's use to be our goto restaurant but now we have to reduce our selection and occurrences. read more

Ordered the dinner size chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes thinking it may be homemade. Unfortunately it was definitely just a tiny (very salty) frozen patty with gravy on top. Small town feel in this restaurant and very large portion sizes make you feel like you are getting a great value for your money. I ordered a chicken salad, and that chicken salad was HUGE. I combined it with baked potato skins which turned into full two potatoes, baked. The service was also really well done and you felt welcome the moment you sat down to the table. We were quickly provided drinks, and there was no wait in them to get us drinks - something very welcome considering it was 104F outside and cool drinks being right at the table as fast as they could deliver is a huge plus! Tonight was a disappointment. Service was good. Food quality was the issue. Missed on several levels. Sea bass was overcooked. The vegetable medley was loaded with raw carrots. The salad was the best part of the meal. The homemade French onion soup was ok. I was looking for more body in the broth. The Swiss cheese was at the bottom of the bowl. A smoked pork chop is not a ham steak. I should've asked, but really? I loaded up the baked potato and and ate only one of the two ham steaks. read more

On August 12, 2025, fifteen of us went to Kelley's for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were all curious how the food and service would be with the new owners.  As a pastor, I had a stressful and sad day officiating a friend's memorial service, and I was SO looking forward to a cold refreshing draft beer.  I ordered a Boulevard Wheat beer (my favorite).  The waitress came back to our table and said they were out of the wheat beer, and shared they had KC Bier Dunkel which I enjoy.  I ordered a Dunkel.  The waitress came back to the table and told me they were out of Dunkel.  The only beer available was a variety of light beers, and I explained I do not drink light beers, as they taste like water.  I told the waitress the new owner needs to walk across the street and purchase Boulevard Wheat beers, due to their running out, so I could have a beer, as well as other customers.  Needless to say, the new owner did not.  I was very disappointed to have 2 draft "real beers" not available.  We celebrate birthdays often at Kelley's and after this experience, we will plan our celebrations at another restaurant that does not run out of beer. read more

Baked potato was super yummy and mashed came with a brown gravy. Plenty of options on the menu for all types of diners and the place had a steady chain of customers. Service was perfect and vibe was cozy. Their "dinner roll" was flat, white with crust on all 4 sides ... Aka Wonder Bread. Although I did see a roll on another table that never made it to us. So close of our farm so I'm sure we'll frequent this meat eaters roadside paradise! read more

This was a hand formed generous finished 6 oz party times 2 as a double. So 12 oz of deliciousness!! Got it with cheddar and pepper jack. Came with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle all on the side and a bag of potatoe chips. You could upgrade for a small charge to fries onion rings etc. Service was great. They were quick to take our order and worked with multiple couples in our party of 18. They even took orders out of "order" lol just to get people who had little ones or needed to leave before others. All of the food came out really fast for how busy they were. You want good value and that small town feel. Kelley's is where it's at. They have daily specials from half price buffers to open face roast beef and always a steak meal special. They have a large variety for appetizers, sandwiches, and Dinners. I have my favorites but I won't bias your decisions and tell you that the chicken fried steak dinner is good or that the grilled chicken sandwiches with ranch is a tasty lunch. This is a family friendly comfortable feel good place to grab a bite. If you are passing through it's right off the main road and service is quick so great stop for a road trip. This handy grill & bar in Basehor, KS serves up a diverse menu and the food is solid and reasonably priced. During the COVID pandemic they are taking orders over the phone and will deliver the food curbside. We ordered the two chicken fried chicken entrees with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a dinner salad. The total bill was around $25. We plan to return! read more
