Just went back to the shop yesterday -- here are some updates!…read more - The shop is open now on Sundays from 3-6 pm... and NOT open on Saturday from 12-3. Essentially its hours now are Thursday-Sunday 3-6 pm. Even if the door is locked, just knock and the shopkeeper will let you in. - The owner (Sylvia) is going to start transitioning the clothes to the spring season... coming in a couple of weeks or so! - On that note, the shop's strong suit are the accessories -- lots of nice cocktail hats/handbags/jewelry. Examine closely, because pretty much everything in there's for sale. - Starting next week she's going to start making prices static. Yeah, no more haggling, but at least it will be a lot less pressure for those who are uncomfortable with negotiating. In conjunction, some of the prices of the clothing will be adjusted... so maybe that amazing paillette jacket will be cheaper now? Also, I've learned something recently, having become acquainted with the owner. Y'know how it might be kind of intimidating/irritating when the shopkeeper tries to talk to you/make comments about what you're browsing? Well, I always found it that way. All in all, it's just the keeper trying to be friendly, not necessarily trying to pressure you into buying something. Ain't nothin' wrong with trying to be nice.

Wow. I cannot explain how happy and lucky I feel to have found this awesome little shop. The…read moreselection is amazing. The prices are to die for, especially in DC where most vintage or thrift stores are anything but thrifty. The shop owner, Sylvia, is such a sweet lady. She gave me a great deal on some amazing pieces I would have easily paid double for and still would have walked out thinking I got a good price. Needless to say I will be going back again and again and will do my best to spread the word about this lovely little gem. I am almost a bit hesitant to share this with too many of my friends, as I want to make sure I get all the goodies, but there seemed to be plenty to go around and the shop owner is just too nice and lovely to not help support. Go there - you will find something you love. Great place to buy gifts!!!

They occasionally have some great unique pieces, but that is becoming increasingly rare. It seems to have morphed more into a confusing assortment of newer Ikea-level furniture presented as vintage, gift soaps & candles and random clothing. But what really makes this place special are the people - the staff / owners here seem to actively dislike their customers lol! I lived around the corner for 6 years and used to drop in regularly. They revolve between completely ignoring you while laughing to each other, outright hostility, and aggressive indifference (ask a question - they shrug while walking away lol). To make it all just a little more uncomfortable, it seems like half of what they have on the floor is "unavailable". No signs, no explanation, just when you say you would like to buy it they say it's "unavailable" and walk away lol. I don't know who this place is supposed to appeal to, it seems like they are going for tourists, and maybe young people who just moved here and don't know any better. Hopefully this space will turn over into something that better serves the community.

From my recent visit I noticed there's way less vintage or antique items, more new products and clothes and soaps. Small gifts and such, which is nice, it's just less 'awesome antique finds' and way more 'Anthropologie.' Customer service has always been bullocks.
