Honestly after a lot of money spend and shoulder and neck pains I figured out that I needed a change. I thought maybe I just needed a better chair but that only helped a little bit. I started to become desperate and lazy, 'maybe I should just work on the floor' I thought to myself, with that I discovered that I had less back pains and started just working from the floor. I tried this out for 3 months and I am happy to report that my back pains have lessened. So what does R-Home furniture have to do with this discover? Well everything of course, I started researching online about a sturdy short table, but not just any table would do. I was looking for a table that if I really wanted to I could use as a dining table, just something of quality! After a ton of research and a lot of unsuccessful and risky online ads, I found R-Home furniture. I sent an inquiry online and asked George if he had a Chabudai (Japanese short table) and he replied yes! I was super excited and let him know the dimensions I wanted as well as the base. I was a bit unsure of the colors and bases but George walked me through it. Two days later I came in and took a look at all the available pieces and was in awe of the selection, the picture really doesn't do it justice. After some indecisiveness on my part George recommend me a few pieces and I took it home the same day. The table wouldn't fit in my car if the base was attached but George and Ricky helped my husband load the table in the car. If you are ever looking for a great deal and just a bit of customization you definitely don't have to go further than to R-Home.

We bought a FLOS chandelier, and when it arrived it had one socket that was broken (part of the box was caved in). Anton was delightfully helpful, understanding, courteous, and tenacious. They sent a replacement socket immediately, and even though we had already said that we would settle for that, Anton still managed to get a request for a replacement chandelier - that came in just a few days after the replacement part that we were happy with! In addition, in the showroom he was also knowledgeable, polite, and likeable. We are extremely happy that we managed to buy this iconic piece, in production since the early 1950's, specifcally at Ligne Roset and specifically from Anton. We will definitely go back to the store, and him, whenever we need something that they might have!

I made some calls to local furniture repair shops. Daniel was the most responsive person I called and was confident that he could fix it. He quoted a reasonable price and turnaround time. I crossed my fingers and brought it to him. When it came time to pick up the headboard, I couldn't believe my eyes. The headboard was back together with very little visible evidence that a crack had been there. Daniel is a miracle worker! Thank you Daniel!

We ventured into the beautiful Stona showroom on Grace Street in Georgetown and were pleasantly surprised to find a marble mosaic that suited our purpose. The Stona staff were very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The owner, Mert Bakan promptly came to our apartment, took measurements and provided a very reasonably priced bid to do all the work including demolition and re-tiling. One of the things that we liked about Stona is that they have their own craftsmen, unlike many other stone retailers who could only recommend independent contractors whom we then would have to contact to do the installation. Stona provided a full service. Within a week of accepting their offer Stona sent two installers to do the job; small by comparison to many jobs (38 ft2). The installers were very careful removing the existing woodwork, which they refitted and replaced at the end of the job without damaging anything. (Frequently the demolition requires replacing the moldings.) The demolition of the existing floor was done without much disruption and the installation was very professional. Mert Bakan came to inspect the job before the installers left and to make sure we were satisfied with the entire process. He and his staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient as well as attentive to detail from start to finish. We are very satisfied with the finished product and would highly recommend Stona based on quality of materials, professionalism, price and overall efficiency.

Nabi was right in line with the others on price, though there was another place that would have been cheaper had we been willing to deliver the rug to their plant. We didn't really want to do that, so that discount was immaterial. Nabi worked with me on scheduling a pickup that was very convenient. The two guys who showed up were friendly and professional, and gave me some good information about how much the repairs to the torn fringe corners would be. He noticed we had no pad under the rug, and had no trouble talking me into buying a rug pad -- thankfully, I had already done research on rug pads, and knew the one he was offering me was high quality and an excellent price. Easy sale :-) The cleaning took a little less than a week, and the repair took only a few days. For the return of the rug, once again it was at my convenience. The friendly folks who brought back the rug placed the pad and the carpet where I wanted them, and were pleased that we were pleased. I was beginning to think that there weren't any places left that took pride in their work and were good to their customers. But Art Underfoot has restored some of my faith in local business!

It is professionally done and I have confidence it will last well beyond any shed I might have bought from a hardware store or wholesaler. It all came together in about a month and a half. Three visits: one to assess the site, one for the foundation to be built (a gravel pad to go on top of my grass, a separate service and cost through a contractor Ted works with), and a half day in which the shed itself was built. I did not need many fancy add-ons as it's only for tool storage, but nevertheless I am glad it came standard with opening windows, a ridge vent, and a lock & key. One thing I did opt to pay more for is the ramp, which makes all the difference getting bicycles and lawnmowers in and out.
