6 weeks ago 7/14/20 we paid $433 to have this tree trimmed because large branches kept breaking and falling. One branch had missed someone by 1 minute. We made it clear this is why we needed it taken care of. My husband had been unemployed 4 months at this time and we still felt like this money needed to be spent to make the tree safer. After they left I didn't feel they did a good job but chose not to complain because they came recommended. But my family member was upset that they recommended someone we weren't happy with. So he complained. And the project manager came out and said, "I'm sure it was a shock for Amanda when she first saw the tree because it had not been trimmed in a long time. The tree has open crevices and to prolong the life and health of the tree, we had to remove the excess weight on the limbs. I did see some cuts that look weird, unfortunately, they had to be made without removing really large limbs and losing too much of the tree." I wasn't unhappy because they cut too much. I was unhappy because they did not cut enough. It was not thinned out like it should have been. Then last night this branch breaks. I thought "excess weight" had been removed? So I email. And I get this response: "Hi Amanda, I personally went out and looked at your tree after the work was completed. The tree was trimmed properly. When trimming a tree, you can only remove up to a certain percentage of the tree at one time without killing the tree. With all of the strong winds and storms we have had, since your tree was trimmed, no amount of trimming could have prevented damage. If you would like for us to come out and remove the broken limb, it would be our minimum charge of $150 + tax." Why would I pay an additional $150? Which is it? You had to remove excess weight on the limbs or we can only remove up to a certain percentage so excess weight wasn't removed? I am by no means an expert on the subject of tree maintenance, but I have to say I am more than pleased with the service and overall experience with The Tree Fella. From start to finish the process was exceptionally fluid. I didn't have to be home, and was able to pay afterwards via their handy-dandy pay-pal link on their website. I actually just chose them because I liked their company name, and thought it would be fun to say I went to The Tree Fella. They provided me with a more than reasonable quote . . it was way more affordable than a couple of quotes I got back in the summer time from some other companies. They responded quickly, all while I was at the office. They provided me a quote and once I approved it, they came out to do the work the next day. I came home to see that my trees had proper hair-cuts, and looked ready to go on job interviews. They also cleared away some additional brush we had accumulated from some trimming we did on our crepe myrtles. I will most certainly be calling on The Tree Fella the next time my trees need grooming, and I highly recommend you do the same. read more

These guys did a great job on our trees! We had several years of overgrowth, and they took them down like champs. Prices are very fair. It was a large job, so we got 5 quotes before proceeding. Tree Fella was not the cheapest of the 5, but we thought they were the most knowledgeable and trustworthy. So glad we went with them. read more

The job on my three oak trees was done quickly and professionally and cleanup was pretty meticulous. I think they may have under-bid the job based on the time they took on one of the three trees (they were here longer than I expected). Even if that was the case, the crew did not short-cut the job and Camille honored the estimate (the kind of integrity that is not often seen much anymore). I've already recommended them to my neighbor and have no problem doing so it anybody else who asks. read more

Where have these guys been hiding? I believe in negotiating everything. Last week Camille came out to inspect and price, and we settled on something that was reasonable (Camille is not a pushover in negotiating, btw). Her crew just left the house, and they did such an amazing job that I wrote a check for what she asked for in the first place - with zero reservations. Camille is professional, prompt and between the inspection and arrival, straight up did everything she said she'd do, when she said she'd do it. That's gold all by itself. The Tree Fella Crew were thorough, meticulous and nice guys to boot. My job wasn't the easiest in the world; they had to raise the canopy of two Oak trees, and then thin them out. And one tree was hanging over my pool so getting all around was extremely awkward. In a business where quality varies WIDELY, The Tree fella really stands out. I am incredibly disappointed that a company I have used for years and trusted with my tree has let me down so severely. Evidently Richard has sold the company and it has completely changed. Due to a death in the family I contacted Camille to postpone my appointment until next week so I would be home when they trimmed my front yard tree and back yard hedge. I received email confirmation from Camille agreeing to wait until next week. I returned home yesterday to find they had butchered the front tree and trimmed a hedge that is NOT in my yard. There's no way to put the butchered branches back, but I'd like to save others the devastation by NOT recommending The Tree Fella to anyone ever again. read more

I was told Drew would get out to see my trees last Thursday. I have received zero communication.

The crew was very unprofessional. Also complaining that our trees were too big and that they would have to climb them to reach some of the overgrown limbs and such. Really? Very disappointed in the experience..last time I will use them. read more

They called within 20 minutes. Camille was at my back door within 30 minutes and gave me 3 quotes for the good, bad and ugly. After inquiring about the very sad tree she gave me her personal opinion which was not the highest quote. This is a first rate tree service and highly recommend them! read more

We have done business with The Tree Fella for several years and have always been impressed with their prompt response, the courtesy and professionalism of their crews, and the way they cleaned up following various trimming jobs. Their price structure is fair and competitively priced. Crews arrive on time and generally leave the property cleaner than it was before they arrived.
