But these drinks definitely have to be amongst the best drinks to have in all of Nashville! I don't even know where to begin with the staff -- every single person that served was attentive to the orders, ensuring that everything was cooked and served to perfection. I travel and have eaten across the country. I've served multiple course meals to elites both here in the US and abroad. I've had some of the finest foods in the US, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia. Staff was very educated on the menu and helpful to us. The food was a bit greasy for our liking (grilled cheese and breakfast sandwich) but the flavors meshed well together. My friend was in town and we were looking for a new restaurant so we came here. The menu was very small and on the pricy side so we just shared appetizers and had a couple cocktails. The fried okra was very good and the sauce that came with was delicious. We also ordered the cocktail shrimp and was sadly disappointed as there were only four shrimp so two each for a nice price. Sometimes is not just about the food. It's about customer service. It's about your attitude as well as your pricing and value for my hard-earned dollar. My wife and I were visiting from Chicago and found The Treehouse listed in an article of the "10 coolest and most unique" restaurants in Nashville. I don't know who paid the writer for her opinion but clearly, there had to be some exchange of goods for her impossible review. It's either that or her experience of food service establishments is so severely limited that she simply doesn't know the difference between "cool and unique" and "a massive waste of time and a rip-off". The Treehouse isn't designed to "feel like a treehouse". I'd describe it as an old home that someone attempted to turn into a restaurant. This old home wasn't modified to adapt a historic classic Nashville relic into a "cool and unique" dining experience. As an example, the main dining area is just a large room with a high ceiling that has the faint odor of mold. That said, the server was friendly and competent, albeit a bit too hovering for my taste. But then again, we were the only table on a Wednesday night that was busy everywhere else. That should've been a clue. The food was cooked properly but I got the distinct impression that the chef resented my order. I happen to be allergic to garlic. I realize that in the world of food service, such a situation is tantamount to sitting at a table while having a constant flatulence problem. How dare I ask the chef to modify his recipe?! What an outrage! We started with martinis. A measured THREE ounces of vodka (that's two shots) for $22 PLUS $2 extra for blue cheese olives PLUS a 25% tax, making each drink $30. In my book, that's gouging. We followed with the very average Arancini ($14). My wife had the Halibut ($46) and I had the "Bucksnort" Trout. Noting here that because of my special no garlic request, I was offered no alternative sides. I didn't really think about that until the plate arrived with a single six-ounce portion and nothing else on the plate - for $36. When I looked over and caught the chef's eye, he immediately turned away. Which tells me he knew he was being an ass. Since I had virtually no calories at dinner, we opted for the Pots de Crème ($10) which was barely a serving, with four bites of pudding. My wife had a prosecco. The bill totaled $255. We'll never be back and if you're smart, you'll never go in the first place. read more

I had the Cherry Styles cocktail to start, followed by the crispy brussels, and then the seared halibut. The halibut, of course, was the star of the show. That curry sauce.... So I came for my anniversary dinner and everything was real nice. I had the wygu beef and my wife had the chicken along with brussel sprouts and some bread with honey butter. The beef had a chimichurri sauce that was fantastic the beef cooked perfect just wish there was more on my plate. My wife loved the chicken it was cooked perfect nice and juicy with great flavor. Unique bar, love the treehouse design. We couldn't really see it from the front of the building, but once you go out back there is a bar and you can see the treehouse above it and you can even climb up in it! The bar out back is pretty small, the bartender was friendly, but made two huge mistakes. My boyfriend's drink had an entire straw wrapper disintegrating in it, which was gross. I had a vodka cocktail that was supposed to have Prosecco in it, but the bartender mistakenly put red wine in it instead. It was still good, and he offered to make me a new one, but I just stuck with the red wine version. He said he would give it to me for free then, but unless my boyfriend's drink cost $20 he definitely didn't. The bar itself has a hipster vibe to it, it's definitely a different scene then the Broadway strip two miles away. read more

#fatjared say...there was more good than bad, but not anywhere near perfect. a true 4 star review. There are better dinner spots, but we definitely enjoyed it! For my reviews, I have a strict criteria. My experience at your establishment must be PERFECT. 5 stars on Yelp is perfect, so to receive that you have to be perfect. That being said, The Treehouse was a really fun time. A bit difficult to find as it is hidden away in East Nash, but the menu changes each season because the chef likes trying new flavors. I LOVE that mindset. The alcohol and cocktail options were good, not as much bourbon as I would like, and drinks obviously a bit pricey, but above average for a dinner spot. There was 1 solid theme throughout the entire meal, and that was how oily everything was. Yes good savory fat makes food better, but too much makes you feel nasty afterward and can take away from the flavor. We ordered the tartare, the okra, the beets, and the mushroom gnocchi. The "chips", which if you see the picture are unique, were a great addition to such a a light tender bit of meat. The okra was phenomenal and the charred bites were the second best taste of the meal, but there were a couple that were not quite done all the way through. The beets were light, good balance of flavor, but even they had some oily type flavor to it, which was not ok with me. My favorite dish was the gnocchi. The mushrooms were soft, curry flavor was spot on, "corn meal" was really more of just cooked corn, which I appreciated, and the coconut flavor was not overpowering. For a date spot, great choice! I enjoyed it, and in a different season would go back, but cut down on the amount of oil you cook with is my suggestion. Just too much in every dish. read more

I had heard lovely things of The Treehouse for a few years and finally had the opportunity to try it this past Saturday. We made a reservation and sat outside. They had the tables appropriately distanced and all restaurant staff were wearing masks. I felt very at ease. I ordered the steak and my friend ordered the scallops, and we shared the coffee rubbed roasted carrots. I'm not a coffee fan and these were delicious! The steak was cooked absolutely perfect, and he said his scallops were great as well. Vibe is loungy/fun/intimate. A great date spot or even just a good evening out with friends or loved ones. I felt it was a tad bit pricey, but not overly so. I ubered not knowing street parking situation nearby but I absolutely could have drove. PLENTY of easy parking available. I was a little disappointed in the scrabbled eggs as they were quite runny. You only get 1 pancake and 1 piece of bacon which is not common for typical breakfast meals. The meal was also overpriced.
