They are a student run company and they would have first hand knowledge knowing this information. They should at least make the information public before you book and travel to the campus to make your own decision if the tour is worth it. They are smart enough to realize this and capitalized on monetary gain instead of the patrons. Would not recommend unless you like to donate to students and listen to traffic.

Few can top what we did on May 06, 2026, when I booked the Original Boston Mob Tour in Boston. We are highly interested in learning all there is to know about different points of view and aspects of the Italian Mafia. Last fall we took a bus around Chicago while visiting the city for a hockey tournament and took a Mob Tour there. The Boston Mob Tour we attended yesterday for our son's 15th birthday was absolutely off the charts on every level and far surpassed the one we had taken in Chicago. We arrived at 9:45am for a 10am start, and to say that we lucked out by getting Mr. Michael Romano as our Tour Operator would be an understatement. We were greeted in Mr. Romano's first-class immaculate Suburban with plenty of room. We had the first tour of the day and luckily again enough for us, we were the only ones for this tour time. Thus, we held it privately, and felt like VIPs and were treated like such. Mr. Romano served as our photographer and took souvenir photos that was so very much appreciated. The rest of the tour was absolutely a blur. Mr. Romano was fascinating and endearing. He navigated around the city easily, and he felt like an old friend telling us everything about South Boston and the Irish mob and then hitting the North End, and to be quite honest, I was really sad having to say goodbye at the conclusion of our tour. I should also note that we live in Central Massachusetts. Thus, Boston is only about 35 minutes away. The word; "tourist" is not something I would throw around when referring to us visiting Boston and going on this tour at all. It was one of the most fun, interesting and highly recommended tours I would tell anyone to go on - not only visiting the city, but for locals. People had to sit on laps and on stairs to avoid "standing", which is against the rules. The driver kindly explained to people he was full and spent a lot of time trying to convince existing passengers to "make room" by piling on top of another, which is unpleasant when we clearly paid for separate tickets. It's not our fault you reduced your service to every 30min in the rain? Also, the trolleys have no windows, which means in the rain they have these plastic flaps that come down and zero ventilation. this meant the plastic fogged up from the heat and we could not see anything. Some of us struggled to breathe inside with no air circulation, and with no umbrella bags we also sat in puddles of water while getting soaked. I feel with the amount of rain Boston sees, the trolley tour should have a solution or not operate.

I wanted to get a real intimate knowledge of Boston which we didn't get for $100 a pop. 4.) This may be my bad but I assumed/read a lot of the famous Freedom Trail iconic sites would be explained and importance discussed but that was not the case. We will be trying to do a Freedom Trail specific tour to supplement the historical education before we leave. 5.) Was Harvard square MIT too far away to include in the tour? 6.) It turns out they don't run a tour unless there is at least 10 people signed on. I had to ask in order to find that out. They would have saved us all the annoyance of oft cancelled tours if only they'd upgrade their website to show the number of spots taken per available tour date and mentioned this little tidbit so that their customers could self-select to cluster themselves. Fortunately, we're locals. If we were planning a trip to Boston from out of state, this would have been a worse annoyance and inconvenience than it already was. PS - their phone number is a joke. We tried every option and everything pointed the caller back to their website and the online chat option. There's no way to get a human being.
