This is our company's ACCURATE and FACTUAL response and review to Mike S.'s review and Andrew K.'s review: We met Mike S. at his home in Oxford on Thursday, 7/13/2023 to view assorted handyman tasks that he wanted to have done. His real name is Mike F. We priced this punch-list job, and he agreed with the pricing. Our technician Arty went there to work on the list on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM. At that time Mike showed Arty what had to be done. Arty started in the bathroom. After about 45 minutes, Mike started to loudly argue with his wife, and I believe that there were one of two children present. The argument between husband and wife regarding the true ownership of the premises started to rapidly escalate in severity and loudness, and our Technician felt very uncomfortable and very threatened. He immediately called me at our office and I instructed him to quietly pack up his tools and leave the premises, which he immediately did, as our firm has a policy in place where we do not tolerate toxic work environments. Mike then called our office to complain that he needed us there due to the fact that other contractors were now on site and needed us to finish our work first so that they could do their installation of various components of the house. Mike was extremely argumentative, demanding, and threatening to me, and I politely told him that we will absolutely not be coming back to do any work for him. He then threatened to "trash" us on the Internet, which obviously he later did. With respect to the review by Andrew K., these are the facts: I met Andrew on Monday, June 26, 2023 at his derelict multifamily house in the center of Shelton. He is actually from Oxford, not from Stamford as he indicated at the beginning of his review. He showed me at that time an unfinished 8 ft. by 8 ft. 2nd floor rear room in the rear of his property at the top of a staircase that he wanted to finish as a laundry room for his 2nd floor tenant who lived the rear 2nd floor apartment in this house which was built circa 1910. I noticed when I went up the staircase that all of the lumber comprising the outer left side staircases (as viewed from the street) was rotted and unsafe to traverse upon. I priced the drywall job, and Andrew approved the price, and arranged to reimburse me for the materials needed from Derby Home Depot to complete this job. Our Technician Tony installed all of the drywall on the walls and the ceiling and installed the flooring which Andrew already had purchased. When the job was completed, Andrew gave a lot of resistance and unwillingness to pay the bill, and started complaining to me about the outlet covers, how the room was compounded over the drywall seams, and the fact that the trim did not match the inner door trim where the tenant lived, in addition to other minor and superfluous complaints. I informed him that the trim on the door was indeed a part of the door as it was originally purchased, and that the trim could not be matched. He then continued to complain incessantly about the job, and the complaints were totally frivolous in my opinion. Nevertheless, he was the customer, and I decided to keep working on this laundry room until he was satisfied. Accordingly, I set up a couple of meetings with him with my staff, Arty (who did mechanicals), Jimmy (who did carpentry trim), and Danny (who did compounding, taping, and painting), and we all set out to re-do the entire job so that Andrew would be satisfied with the result, even though in my opinion he wanted the laundry room in his derelict property to look like a "formal dining room in a Greenwich estate." I subscribe and adhere to the notions that the "Customer is king" and that the "Customer is right," always! We worked hard to satisfy Andrew, did what he advised us to do, and he still vindictively put a negative review about us on the Internet. He also put up "before" photos, not "after" photos, which was totally dishonest. I will be adding the accurate "after" photos at the end of this response. Our firm lost $1050 on his job, but we still performed well. We have done approximately 350 jobs since the end of the Pandemic and have not received any negative reviews since that time except for the reviews from these two aberrant, abnormal individuals. In addition, on our HIC License #0670556 up in Hartford, there is a clip mentioned, "No Complaints on Record.," which our firm is very proud of. This is the first negative review I've ever written because im a woman who believes that holding on to anger is pointless. But this owner moved me in such a fashion that I'm taking the time to relay my family's experience with Tim and Ultimate handyman. I literally put one star because this apps make you or I would've left it zero. Firstly, this was a supposed 3.5 week job which started in May 2025, its still not finished. Im only posting photos of the work he " finished" because he had every excuse in the book as to why he couldn't finish the floor in my basement. As a contractor if you can't find matching tiles; ok. But dont abandon a project and not come with alternative ideas. I will say Tim did tell us he was having health issues so this is why we didnt push for this to be completed because we cared about him as another human being. When he was ill another foreman (Al) was sent to our house unannounced. We only knew his original foreman who the owner happily reported he was an undocumented worker who left because he was picked up by I.C.E. Al who is a complete stranger happily let himself into my home via bilko door while my children and I were home. Sir I dont know you? And you dont know me. What gives you the right to walk into another person's point of safety without permission? When I told the owner about this, he didnt apologize he actually threatened to file a " tort claim suit ". He didnt take accountability for his poor organization or failure to execute the job. He took this time to try to intimidate me by reminding me he is a paralegal. Im a very educated post graduate but because im a woman he thought this would make me back down from what is right. He then went on about how it was us who was non responsive even when I sent him screenshots of his employees and him not answering us. But facts dont matter to this man. Furthermore when he could not finish the tile he attempted to send me a brand new contract with wild fabrication of timeline and 3k more than the first one as a "paper trail of attempting to rectify the situation ". He has the original contract with my signature and his signature as do I. I spoke to him on a Friday asking for a solution to flooring by Saturday after waiting months. He followed through for the first time in that he called. He said he'd talk to a tile guy on Monday. I waited until that next Friday, no Tim. So I texted at 2pm " so i guess this means your abandoning the job". He stated that he told me he would reach out to a guy that following Monday just as he did the Friday prior. When I reminded him this what he already reported he denied it. I fired him then. He continued to harass me via text for 2 days after until I had to threaten him with filing harassment. Needless to say this was the most unfortunate experience I've ever had. Sidebar: my family had another contractor come out to see the floor . He found the tile we needed in 2 hours when Tim swears up and down its " obsolete ". He even threatened to charge me time and gas for the supposed 13 places he went to look. I paid for a garage door opener to be installed through Lowe's, however, Lowe's subcontracted it to Angi + Lowe's, which was subcontracted again to Ultimate Handyman. The installer told me my garage door springs were bad and that I should call someone to look at them. I called a local garage door company who came out and told me that the guy did not know what he was talking about and that I should call if they broke. I had to pay an $80 service fee for this, and all because of the installer's clumsy recommendation. Then, a year and a half later the garage door opener arm ripped out of the metal on my garage door, damaging the top panel. Ultimate Handyman was not good about responding. Finally, I had to ask for their commercial general liability insurance carrier to get it taken care of, but I've not received a response. Will probably have to turn it into my insurance company and have them subrogate against Ultimate Handyman. Highly unprofessional company and shoddy workmanship. read more

Tim's guys go above and beyond for customer. Prices are good . Timely manner of job completion. Add on work prices are adjusted. Would totally use him again and recommend him. If you are not pleased with anything he did he will come and fix it on his dime to make sure it is done correctly and make you happy. read more
