Leslie of Doggonerunnin has taken wonderful care of our golden retriever, Tuck, since we bought him…read more3 years ago. This has included play time at home when he was a puppy, vacation care when we were away for 10 days and most recently group trail runs. In all that time she has never missed a visit, and Tuck is always overjoyed to see her. If I am upstairs with him and say "Leslie is here", he runs downstairs to greet her! For the past 2 years, she has taken Tuck on group trail runs, off leash, with anywhere from 4 to 6 other dogs. This is a great way to get lots of exercise, play with other dogs and be able to sniff and run around in natural areas rather than on hard pavement. She has trained the dogs to stay near her and to get along and listen to her. Her training methods include reward not punishment based techniques. In addition, as she has developed her business, she has learned a great deal about canine illnesses and is a great resource if I have questions about dog related health issues. Her care of Tuck was especially phenomenal when our family went away for 10 days. Tuck stayed at home and Leslie visited him at 7 am for breakfast and play time, including a time to chew on a bone, a 3 hour mid-day period when he accompanied Leslie on back to back trail runs, and finally a 7 pm dinner bedtime visit. We were in contact with her during our trip so we wouldn't worry while we were away. He was very happy. What I didn't know was that she also took Tuck to see his dog buddies at the soccer field where I usually take him in the mornings. She absolutely went above and beyond and Tuck had never had so much attention. We have found that Leslie truly has the best interests of our dog at heart. I trust her to take great care of Tucker and as well, trust her to come into our home when we aren't there, and to reliably show up for his scheduled trail runs. Several of our neighbors have also used Doggonerunnin and feel the same way. She sets high standards for her business and has worked hard to maintain them!

Miss Violet usually streaks upstairs when she hears a car pull into the driveway, and there she keeps watch from the top step, expecting pillage and mayhem and the demise of us all .... unless it's Mary. Then she comes downstairs quickly and purrs loudly while directing long, meaningful glances toward her sitter. She's utterly shameless in her admiration for Mary. We try to ignore Miss Violet's outlandish behaviour, but sometimes wonder if we should spend more time at home -- put a little damper on this foolish infatuation. There was a crisis three years ago when Miss Violet swallowed a long string, and we weren't due back for another week. Mary handled the situation beautifully and kept us abreast of what was going on before and after the procedure to remove it. (Thanks, Mary!) Mary has apologized for endearing herself so to Miss Vi, and we forgive her wholeheartedly. She's become indispensable to our gadabout family. I can't recommend Mary Littlefield highly enough to anyone who travels and needs to leave a shy kitty at home.

Myself being a retired dog walker, I tagged along with Mary one week. I saw many different animals…read morein many different situations. Most notable was a dog whose owners were away on a 3 week trip, and Mary was hired to take care of him three times a day. This dog was clearly depressed without his owners. Mary cheered him right up and stayed extra hours with him. She took photos of him and sent them to his owners. Mary understood his emotions and was able to comfort him. At another house there were two cats. When we arrived, they were hiding. Once Mary was there, they came running out. Mary doesn't just feed cats and go, she stays and pets them, plays with them, sits with them and puts them in her lap. What was apparent was how every animal loved and trusted her. She was able to be kind and gentle, but was also able to be firm and set boundaries with dogs that got out of control. You will love Mary's services!

I grew up in Hudson and left at 18 vowing never to come back. I lived all over the world,…read morecollecting dogs in my travels, and moved back to Hudson at the beginning of the summer with my now husband and 2 dogs. We work A LOT so I was blowing through dog walkers and dog sitters left and right. My dogs are small. They're sweet. They're emotional. They require some patience and tenderness that I was sure I was never going to find in a dog walker/pet sitter. I have an irrational obsession with both of my dogs -- I found one in kennel in South Korea, sick and abused. The other we got at another shelter and she is vivacious and social when comfortable, but often uncomfortable. They sleep in the bed. Eat salad. You get it. I'm crazy, my dogs live well and I want them to always live well. My husband told me a few weeks after moving to Lake Boon that there was a dog daycare on our street, 3 houses down. I thought he was seeing things. I had spent the entire summer interviewing, hiring and being disappointed by dog walkers/pet sitters. "She hid under the couch so I didn't walk her" "he didn't eat... last meal was 3 days ago. is that ok?" On and on. So, there was NO WAY there was a pet sitter on my street. And my husband now can say "this is the one meaningful, useful thing I have contributed to our relationship" - he found the BEST dog sitters ever! 5 doors down. We recently traveled internationally and for the first time ever, I gave my dogs to someone who doesn't share half my DNA. This was not easy. We are back now and my dogs are so happy and I can tell they have been happy since we were gone. I know they missed us but they were SO well cared for. They slept in beds. They snuggled. They played. They walked. They got individual attention - they were cared for as well as I would care for them and that is soooooo perfectly wonderful. You all are fantastic and we thank you so much!
