These bouncers were rude, hostile and racist. I showed them my ID and they called me racial slurs. They took my girlfriend's real ID and refused to cooperate. We just left because I didn't want to escalate anything. Do not come here. Do not give them business!

Like most exclusive clubs' Yelp pages, the bad reviews are often from people who didn't actually get to experience the club/business itself. Getting in often depends on the night - sometimes as a girl, you can walk right in, while other times, it'll be guest list only and you can't get in no matter how long you wait outside. To get in, fulfill as many of these as possible: 1) go early (~11pm or earlier) 2) have connections 3) get a table 4) be female 5) have a group of only females 6) dress extra nicely However, when you actually get in, the club itself is pretty amazing. Great music, attractive crowd, cool atmosphere. Bottle service here is amazing - the bottle girls are always standing nearby to pour your drinks the second you finish (also, they bring free cookies!), and you can store your jackets/purses under the seats. Although Underground is more fun/lavish with bottle service, I've always had fun even on nights without a table. Definitely recommend!

It's been a good five years since I've last visited Underground.....probably because I'm getting old and my joints can't handle it anymore (*tear*). I used to prefer clubs over bars/lounges back then, but my old lady self prefers bars/lounges over clubs now. Since this was for a friend's birthday, I made an exception. We came on a Saturday night a few minutes before 11:00 p.m. because it was free cover until then. Why is it free? Because it's so early that 10% of the club is occupied and as a result, you better believe eyes are on you if you're dancing! But hey, free is free. Here are the pros and cons of this club: PROS - Friendly staff (we got entry cards for a free guest for next time AND an employee even came up to us when we were standing by the dance floor and said we could sit down at one of the unreserved tables next to the DJ booth until it sold - value $1000+) - Decor and color scheme is nice (white tables and seats in a dark purple/blue lighting scheme) - Free cover before 11:00 p.m. - Two separate rooms depending on your mood (the other area is a little smaller, has a bar, different music playing and brighter lighting) CONS - As time progressed, I noticed the club had about 90% girls! Talk about uneven ratio of girls and guys. - Top 40's music with downtime, so it's not a consistent flow of good beats - Not a big area for dancing because the center of the main room is filled with tables and seats, and not many people dancing in the small dance area Overall, I think I'll stick to my bars and lounges.

    If you're biracial, think twice.

At 12:50 AM, we were suddenly told there was a strict 2-hour limit, something never communicated upfront. Not by the person we booked with, not by the door guy when we arrived, not by the employee that walked us to our table, and not by the girl who took our bottles order. When we asked for proof, staff couldn't provide any and instead blamed the promoter, taking zero accountability. I've never experienced a "time limit" for bottle service anywhere, not even Las Vegas where bottle service is such a big part of the nightlife, so this was especially frustrating. After us pushing back on the "time limit", staff kept passing by our table checking how much of the bottles we had left, which made the experience feel rushed and uncomfortable. The service overall was disappointing, and our server even appeared to be intoxicated so at least she had a good time. We specifically chose this club to see DJ Orma (Bad Bunny's DJ), whose set didn't even start until 2:00 AM. Despite that, the general manager and busboy came and cleared out our section around that time while we weren't even finished. I believe it was a made-up policy to turn tables and maximize profit for the night. They are probably used to people just saying yes and not giving push back. At one point I spoke to the Owner who was apologetic so I'll give him that but between the lack of transparency, poor communication, and dismissive attitudes from everyone we interacted with, this was an extremely disappointing experience. For the price point and claiming to an "upscale" nightlife establishment, this level of service is completely unacceptable. Don't waste your time or money. There are so many other good nightlife options in Chicago that won't ruin your experience.

THIS PLACE OFFERS NO FREE WATER. I asked for water and the bartender gave me bottled water and a check for 11 dollars. I asked if there were any place I could get free water, she apologized and said no. We ordered 2 double drinks, and was charged 73 dollars. I attached a receipt. Just be wary of how expensive everything is. Service was fine, but this is the first bar I've ever been to that was so expensive and did not offer water. Only when someone was blacked out did they offer a bottle of water.

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

I came here on Halloween last year, and I had fun but the music wasn't really my vibe, so I was happy when my sister wanted to celebrate her birthday here and we saw they were doing a Y2k night! All the songs they played were classics that everyone knows, and it was so much fun. The bar is pretty large and there's a lot of space to dance. They don't let it get too crowded, so it never feels unsafe or too hot. The decor inside is like a retro 1960s salon, making it great for photos. There's also a photo booth where you get 1 colored and 1 black and white strip ($7). They charge a cover around 9pm I think, so just get there before then so you won't have to pay. We got there around 8pm on a Saturday and barely anyone was there, but around 9pm more and more people started to show up. There's usually a line if you get there later because they limit the amount of people inside. Also keep in mind cocktails were $16 and there's a card minimum of $20, which basically forces you to buy two if you're using card. The drinks are super strong and they definitely do not skimp lol. The espresso martini was my favorite of the night!

We started with dinner at Good Funk (sooo good) and then walked over to Beauty Bar. We joined the line of women waiting to get in when I remarked that I don't really wait in line these days- especially in 20 degrees! My friend suggested we go up to the bouncer and talk our way in as we used to in the good old days, but I looked around and noticed we were 20 years older than everyone else...so figured that wouldn't work! Regardless it was worth a shot so we went up the bouncer and tried to talk our way in...and denied! Finally enough people left the bar that they let us in to crowds and crowds of women. We paid the the cover fee of $15 and I was delighted to see that in 2026 you could pay bars with apple pay! I'll admit this wasn't really my scene these days, but we made the best of it and started dancing away. The music was really great! My friend warned me that the best drinks were served in cans so I ordered a high noon. At one point my friend and I had to use the restroom so we pushed our way thru the hundreds of sweaty women. Plus the 3 men who showed up after an epic beads game. Our biggest complaint was that there was nowhere to hang our purse in the bathroom, which i'm sure the rest of the under 28 crowd wasn't worried about. At midnight our carriage (aka party bus) arrived so it was time to leave Beauty Bar. I can't say I was sad, but it was definitely an experience and always fun to go dancing at a bar every decade or so these days. And, most importantly, the bday gal had a blast!
