The preached sermons are consistent with biblical accuracy and practical application. After attending the church, I was able to process reflectively and retain the information I heard which encouraged and motivated me to grow in my faith. I love their dedication to the children and that they have dedicated services and activities that will enrich them as well. During the pandemic, they offered weekly virtual activities that gathered families and developed human connection. My family have been blessed both in person and virtually by Vessels of Honor ministry.

In my opinion being kind, respectful, and nice should automatically been granted and given to people. Especially to the ones that work, preach and welcome you into their beautiful church. This review is specifically about father Mike and the others that work the community. He is very condescending, pretentious, and not very kind. PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH father Mike!!! People at this church are not very nice, nor are they kind or friendly, They walk away from you or and don't care what you have to ask or say. I have already experienced this at this church at least 5 times by different people...including father Mike. If they don't know you and you are not their favorite or a regular face that they see, they will ignore and silence you right infront of you. If that's NOT RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL, then what do you call this kind of BEHAVIOR?? AND THESE ARE CHURCH PEOPLE? PART OF THE CONGREGATION?? BE NICE, KIND AND RESPECTFUL to everyone and treat everyone with kindness, respect and fairness. And it doesn't cost anything. If they started charging for kindness...they would shape up and get their acts together. Yesterday was Easter Sunday and I called around 10:45am to find out if there was a mass and the time for the last mass. A man answered the phone with an attitude and anger in his voice and said YES, IT'S EASTER. I said I know it's Easter, but what time is the last mass??He then was more curt, short, rude, and abrupt with his one word answer and said 12. To top that off he hung up on me before I got a chance to say thank you. This happened few times with me at this church with their people. Totally UNACCEPTABLE!!! Is this how GOD wants people to treat one another?? The church itself is beyond BEAUTIFUL, BRIGHT and I felt in love with it instantly. That is when I started going there in the beginning. I truly loved going there for the past 6 years. Now, I feel like I am on pins and needles when I have to walk in. I feel like I am NOT WELCOME HERE at St. Francis De Sales Roman Catholic Church. But that's ok. God sees everything and watches everyone from above. I believe it is time for me to find another church to go to where I am much more WELCOMED!! I wish I could have given 5 stars, but for now after all this that I have witnessed and experienced...2 stars will do until they change their attitude and behavior. One star for the beautiful church, and the second star for the garden and outside of the church. The architecture. Last but NOT least, when it is time for donation and accepting other type of donations/offerings such as, clothes, shoes, food etc...they put their fake smiles along with their poker faces and accept my donation/S HAPPILY with OPEN ARMS.

Everyone is genuinely sweet, not over bearing, and I always leave service feeling better than when I walked in. I love how the singles group is lead by a wonderfully spirited married couple (David & Cece). And their group is always doing fun things like hiking, going to the movies, dining out, having potlucks and game nights. Things you'll notice if you come here: -A true sense of community -Volunteering opportunities -An opportunity to learn about the bible (with no pressure) -Fun group events for married couples, singles, and teenagers -Cool and funny pastors! You don't need to bring ANYthing with you when you come. Just bring who you are and that's it. Enjoy the service and let God do the rest. :)

He does a good job teaching, leading, and caring for people. His lovely wife is also very supportive of the church and you can feel their heart for the congregation. Sister Fran, who serves as the church administrator, is another blessing. Every time I go there, I feel like I am part of the family and very loved. There is a warmth in the way they greet you, talk to you, and include you. If you are in the area, you should drop in for a service or a visit. It is a very nice church to be part of and a place where you can feel connected, encouraged, and at home.

I know a lot of people from each church except for St Patrick in North Hollywood. I usually attend activities for each church but I find St Finbar for having much more activities than others. Be it feast day, church anniversary, etc. I like attending these activities because I love to see familiar faces in one gathering and at the same time, meeting new people. I love the leaders of this church especially the pastoral priest. Although I miss Fr. Albert who served here for many, many years, Fr. Francis is doing a pretty great job at this church.

Walking into this church for the first time less than a year ago, I felt that this is how it must…read morehave been in the first century, when the first believers met in each others' homes. They were now sufficiently different in their beliefs from their fellow Jews, who were still meeting in the Temple. People are dressed casually and comfortably, and they sit at round tables rather than in pews. This makes it almost impossible not to start getting to know the warm and welcoming members. Smiles and hugs abound. But so do tears at times, as some people are already praying for one another. To make it even better, the first people to arrive, at noon, can partake of a variety of edibles and enjoy congenial fellowshipping until the service starts at 12:45. But that's not to say that everything becomes formal at 12:45. There's just a gentle transition as the music lowers, the food is put away, and Pastor Steve Garcia takes the mic. Or should I say, Pastor Steve and the Holy Spirit. He operates in several gifts of the Spirit, and the Gifts is where this church really shines. People the pastor doesn't even know (like myself, for the first few weeks) can receive words of knowledge, words of wisdom, healings, miracles, and encouragement about their individual situations. Maybe Pastor Steve doesn't know them, but the Spirit of Jesus to whom he is submitted, does. And there is plenty of time after the lesson of the day to join a prayer circle and receive even more from the Spirit of God, if you wish. Several of the members are also Holy Spirit gifted, and know how to pray with confidence in the authority that the Name of Jesus provides. There is also a Friday night Zoom service, which includes more personal ministry, if desired, another lesson, and more fellowship. I feel that you'd have to really make an effort to not get something life-changing out of each and every service. So jump into your favorite jeans and come on down, if you are serious, or even just curious, about experiencing the power and love of Jesus.
