Despite being a little small, this store is organized and clean. It is easy to shop. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. I have seen some pretty cool items in here and various things that would make great gifts. They have beautiful rocks and gemstones, which really interests me. There are also other collectible items. Captain McFinn also has a huge stuffed animal selection, and there's no doubt you can find anyone's favorite animal if you're looking for a gift. I would like to note that the prices are a bit high, but everything seems to be pretty good quality. If you're at the Eastwood Mall, Captain McFinn is worth checking out. WOW. What a large collection of comics. I don't think I've ever seen that many boxes of comics in…read moreone place! My husband dragged me on a trip down here from Rochester, NY. They were having a 30cent sale on all the $1 comics. He had a plan to go through as many boxes as possible to gather as many missing issues as possible. And we did pretty good. He was able to get over 200 comics for an amazing deal. We finished up a couple of series with issues he'd been looking for for a while. Inside is cramped when there are so many people taking advantage of the sales, but there are just an unbelievable number of comics here. Did I mention just how many there are? A Lot. And I just want to say thank you that they allowed us shoppers to use the rest room to wash hands and use the facilities. When you're there for almost 4 hours, that'd definitely a bonus.

This shop has row upon row of packed comic book sleeves, lovingly labeled and categorized by series. They pretty much have you covered from Gold to Silver age comic, as well as a wide range of modern issues. I was looking for some Silver Age Fantastic Four, and they did have some key issues in this area, but I felt some of there key issues were just bit overpriced compared to what I could find on EBay for a similar grade. However, some of their other Silver Age Fantastic Fours were tight in the sweet spot... or as Luke Cage would say, "Sweet Christmas!" The also offer some really good deals on Funko Pops, and I witnessed a blister game of Magic the Gathering being played in the shop. All of this underscores the fact that this comic book shop is a gem and should not be missed. The next time I'm in the area, I'm certain to stop in for my fix of all things comic book fandom.

It's probably easy to get good reviews when things go right. And I've purchased machines and…read morecabinets from Amy several times over the years, and can attest to that being the norm. But now I can also vouch for Amy's when things go wrong! I purchased a fairly high-end Janome machine from Amy's, and the day after I got it home, an important component broke. I was devastated, but when I returned to the store I was immediately assured that the machine would be repaired or replaced. Within a week, I received a call to come pick up a new machine. Amy said that she felt that I, as a consumer, might worry that something else was wrong if they did a repair, so they worked with Janome to simply replace the machine. I might have expected to be treated as an inconvenience, or been sent home with an iffy product. Instead, I was even offered a gift card to compensate me for the inconvenience of having to wait! That is what is meant by exceeding customer expectations. Imagine what my experience would have been if I had purchased my machine on line! Nothing can compare to working with a good dealer. And Amy's is, simply, the best.

I had recently been to other shops in the area that had clearance Moda and other top quality fabric for $4-$7 a yard and regular yard prices of $10-$13 a yard. I was completing a shop hop and they only had 2 of the 10 hop specific fabrics. So a bust in trying to buy said fabric. The workers were unfamiliar with the shop hop fabrics. They also were unfamiliar with specifics on other lines of fabric in the store- aka "Do you have any other fabrics with this bolt? Is this fat quarter available on a bolt so I can buy a yard or two?" There is a wide selection of fabric panels. They have a huge classroom space and several models of sewing machines and long arm quilt machines setup. It was a nice store but there are a lot better options out there price and selection wise both in person and online.
