This store is fabulous and they always take care of my needs as I run my small business and need to ship to my customers same day. They know me by name and always greet me with a smile. Prices for this franchise are absurdly overpriced. I'm getting charged way more money for labor costs than I should be when it comes to packing. Current franchise owners don't respond well when you request information on fees and how they compare. Additionally, there is a as of now dispute in claimed charge compared to transaction charge that I have been unable to resolve. Be careful, ship at your own risk. read more

The owner Tony and his wife, as well as all the rest of the staff were extremely efficient as well as extremely friendly during this busy time of the year. I came in requesting to have a couple of books made did not think they would be done by Christmas and was not expecting it because I should've done it much earlier. had everything completed by They look wonderful. UPS stores are not owned by UPS, they are franchises, like a McDonald's store. Service used to be good here, but today I went in there and two older guys were working. The one that waited on me came across as lazy. I brought in a "Pack and Wrap" Amazon return. Per Amazon's directions, it's not to be packaged, the UPS store guys are to package it, so anyone can see the contents. I asked if I could have a receipt and they guy hemmed and hawed. He mumbled something about how I always have the tracking number. Here's the problem with that. I don't know these guys. They are not UPS employees. If the guy drops it and it breaks and they toss it, what happens to my refund? If one of the store employees steals it, what happens to my refund? I had to insist on a paper receipt. The guy did the same thing to the customer in front of me. There used to be younger guys working in the store that never balked about printing receipts. Today the old guy said to me "it won't be on the truck for hours, it will take eight days to get there". He answers questions I didn't have nor ask. I don't need explanations on what time the package car driver comes to pick up packages nightly. I was an engineer at UPS, I worked on the design of the Willow Springs facility. Having been a long-time employee, I think I know a little more than these guys who don't actually work at UPS. read more

The UPS Store - Shipping Centers Near Me - Bourbonnais, Illinois

OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced. Shame on me for going through with the shipment, but I didn't want to keep the 4 people (one with a baby in a carrier) in line behind me waiting any longer than they already had. First, and the only reason I went to UPS... I had a pair of children's boots to return, with a prepaid UPS label from amazon - that I needed printed. I had my amazon app up on my phone ready to go and told him I needed the label printed. He immediately pointed to a computer across the room and told me I could access my label there. I started to pick up my stuff and then he asked if it was amazon, I said yes, he said he could print it. I felt like I was inconveniencing him. Not okay. The box of boots came to me in a plastic bag, so the box was already beat up, I just wanted a plastic bag to send them back in, he said "we don't have bags, we have a box for that". He did not tell me it was a $10 box. For a pair of children's boots. My free return cost me $10. Which I didn't know until my next transaction was handled, that label was printed, and he told me the total. Second, and I was only using UPS for this because I already had to go there... I had my husband's cell phone to ship to an eBay buyer. When I walked up to the counter I had a padded envelope, that I planned to purchase for $2.99, to ship the phone in. It was in already in the original box and I had shipped my phone the week prior through USPS in an identical envelope (for half the price), that actually, the post office clerk recommended because it was less expensive than a box and was ample protection. The UPS clerk told me "we have a box for cell phones". I asked if I could use the envelope and he basically just repeated that they have a box for cell phones. So, I guess that meant no. The box was more than double the size of the phone box, and he did not put anything in it to prevent it from sliding around. Why couldn't I use the $2.99 envelope? Obviously because they coerce you into paying for their overpriced boxes. He asked me the value of the package, I told him $350, then he told me it was $25 to ship the phone. It cost me $14 to ship my phone USPS, priority, with insurance for $350 and buying the padded envelope. So, what should have been a total of about $15 between my "free" return and shipping my phone, it ended up costing me $35. Unreal. The 3 stars are for the fact that if you are able to print your own label and box/bag/seal your own package (which I usually do), it's really convenient to be able to walk in and say hi, set your package in the designated area, thank them, and walk out. read more

Disappointed was bad weather conditions and arrived at 6:30 (hours 8-6:30) and two young boys working in there would not take my package. I really didn't think it was a big deal to hand them this and leave. read more

I shipped a framed painting that had a glass cover on it from this UPS store to California, where I live, and the glass broke. When I contacted them (much later because I was so busy when I got back from my trip) they were very nice and offered to pay for repairs.
