I have never been met with such negative service so consistently anywhere in my life than I have at this UPS location. I have been in 5 entirely separate times with Amazon returns, UPS shipments and general shipping needs and each time have been belittled by the same man behind the counter. He has scoffed, laughed and talked down on me every single time I have visited this location no matter my need, on every single occasion over the last 5 months. I have caught him rolling his eyes and purposefully ignoring me. When he does decide to speak, it is in such a degrading, disgusting tone that today, I walked out in tears from the way he spoke to me. He couldn't be less interested in helping despite it being HIS job where HE is the specialist. While the location is extremely convenient for me, going forward I will actively choose to find an alternative location or utilize a different company entirely. If I could give negative stars, I would. I am disgusted by the lack of professionalism AND basic human decency. This associate needs further training as soon as possible. I am not reviewing the price of service that UPS charges, I am only reviewing the quality of service, the friendliness of the staff and the location itself. The staff is very friendly. They always greet me politely when I enter, which usually includes a smile. That is a nice change from entering just about any post office in the Chicago. They recognize me and have my info in their system, which always speeds up the process. The store is small, but clean, and they usually have a little bowl of sweets for you while you wait. They do a nice job of packing things up and I they have helped m out without comment the one time I did have a problem. I also like the location. It is directly outside my train stop and a few blocks from my office. I will continue to use their shop, regardless of whether their prices are somewhat higher than other places. read more

I came here specifically for their notary services. I had called around to other UPS locations but this one offered the best competitive price. I needed three documents notarized and all Anthony Keith (the notary guy) needed was my State ID. Make sure to bring cash because they have a $4 minimum credit card charge here. Okay, can't even make this up: to send a 2.2 lb package to Woodland Hills, California, overnight at this place they wanted over $150.00. Fed Ex wanted $20 bucks and the Post Office wanted $10.70 for second day. I went Postal. While I know the employees don't set the price of the shipping, it would have been nice if the chunky lady behind the counter would have a) stopped eating her lunch long enough to answer my questions. b) not editorialized on the contents of my package c) at least gotten off her ass to pretend to help instead of barking at the guy who was actually doing something. I visited this UPS store to mail one small package. First of all, because the store is actually on Wells and NOT on Lake St., I could not find the office. When I called, the woman with whom I spoke was rude and barked, "Turn the corner," rather than politely assisting me. Then, when I was in the store, I pulled out my address label and asked to mail my item in a padded envelope or box, whatever was cheapest. The woman working--the same one whom I had spoken with on the phone--simply held out her hand for the packaging supplies rather than verbally assisting me, explaining my options, or asking for the materials. She then spouted off a price and stared at me to indicate I should take out my payment. When I pulled out my credit card, she rolled her eyes and pointed to a sign that indicated a minimum purchase to run CCs. Now, I am not complaining about the minimum purchase requirement. I understand that; however, I am complaining about the appalling customer service at this store. The woman working (who I think is also the owner) was downright rude to me for absolutely no good reason. In the future, I will use other services or will visit a different UPS store. read more

While I miss the convenience of the UPS store on Wells which was closer to my office (now a fancy lamp store) & sometimes it is mighty cold/windy/wet to cross the river to this store. Jarese, & as I call him "Anthony Keith / Keith Anthony" are both the best. The lady (owner Jarese) was kind and told me her pick up had already left and directed me to a UPS location around the corner that still had a scheduled pick up coming. Don't go here. Do yourself the favor of walking the three blocks to the location at 27 N Wacker - which is superior in every way. Friendlier, better service, infinitely cleaner. Two stories from today alone that illustrate why I think this: 1.) Went in Friday to mail a package via priority USPS - shorter wait here than at the post office. It was in the small flat rate box and I said I wanted priority. Gentleman put the printed label with postage on the box, and then told me it would be Tuesday before it was picked up (holiday weekend). No problem. I was going to try to take it to the post office on Saturday or mail it from work on Tuesday, but realized after I left that he had charged me for first class mail - which would take an extra 3-5 days. So I went back today to explain and see if he could fix it. First, he told me, "TOLD YOU IT WOULDN'T GO OUT UNTIL TUESDAY HAHAHAHAHA". Then he argued with me about the postage. Flat rate small box is 6.80, but he quoted me over 13 dollars. When I told him it should be much lower he said, "USPS doesn't do small flat rate boxes anymore." I asked why the post office gave me the box and had rates posted and he said, "They're still printing them but they cancelled this service! What is wrong with you? Don't you watch TV, listen to the radio? When's the last time you heard an add for small flat rate?" Then he got sarcastic, "I guess, oh, oh you don't watch TV, you never see commercials? Ohhh." First of all, that's an insane argument - who has EVER heard that on TV or the radio? Second of all, it is a lie. I got a refund, went to the post office, purchased flat rate small priority box postage for $6.80 at the counter and was assured that yes, the post office did still sell/provide small flat rate priority service. 2.) My office building does not have a UPS drop box, so I have been bringing our UPS packages here to drop off. Dropped off packages are piled in a stack next to the door - if they are already labeled (as ours are) the gentlemen completely ignore you. Went to 27 N Wacker this afternoon because after the USPS debacle, I had no patience for this location and didn't want to get another earful. Lady behind the counter was wonderful. She took my packages and gave me a drop off receipt! I didn't know that was even an option. She said it was standard and I should always get one, but in 2 years of visiting the other location I was never told about it, offered it, was rarely acknowledged unless making a postage purchase. Add the ridiculously hard time I was given today over a mistake that was not my own, and 27 N Wacker is my new UPS store. read more

UPS isn't usually the type of store that I would write a review for, however, I am an avid online shopper and have gone in many times to deal with shipping returns since this store is right by my office , and each time think how great the service is. Nothing over the top, just really good service without a single thing to ever complain about. This is just a little store, but most of the time when I go anywhere to ship anything I have a terrible experience with customer service (cough, USPS, cough). At this UPS store the woman (who I believe is also the manager of the store) is always very kind and quick to help me. I went in for notary service and was promptly helped and received great service. I then accidentally left my license behind; however, I didn't realize this until several days later. I also wasn't sure I had left my license at the UPS store since several days went by before I realized I had lost it. Today my license was delivered to my home. The owner of the store (Jarese) found it and mailed it to me. That is beyond the call of duty and just awesome!!
