I have been coming here for ages and have exceptional service from Carlos but the new people are far from courteous. I walked in and I was the only one there and waited for him to ask if he could help me. He said, "Yeah what do you want?" I wanted to buy a book of stamps BUT WITH THAT ATTITUDE I said, "I'll pass." If he is one of the owners he should go to class for "Customer Service" and how it's done. If he dislikes his customers that much he should give it up or be put in the area where he works only with stamping boxes. I WAS SHOCKED. I went to Walgreens. across the street and purchased them there. Other than Carlos I give them a 0. It must be new ownership. read more

Poor quality service Today 11/25/2014 around 6:30pm I went to this UPS store to return an Amazon package. I generated the return label in my Iphone, but I didnt know how to send it from my Iphone to the store email address. The guy taking care of the store didnt provide me any help, he didnt know how to send the return label from my Iphone to the store's email. He was just attending customers in a very anxious way and very fast...like he wanted to leave and close now!!! He didn't care how to provide a solution...what a very poor quality service. read more

I'll be brief: I'm moving cross country and my new lessor wanted every signature page in the 40+ page leasing contract notarized. That would've cost me a fortune. The manager took sympathy on me and only charged me for one notarization. I haven't had great experiences with other UPS Stores but this one's a keeper. read more

I went to this UPS store to return a library book to an out of state library on 3/11. I told the store manager that it was due 3/15 by noon. He assured me that a USPS Media Mailer would get the book to its destination by 3/13. Imagine my surprise when I checked the tracking number the morning of the 15th to discover the item hadn't even been scanned yet. It was eventually scanned the evening of the 17th. When I called the store to complain, I was told that the UPS store doesn't guarantee USPS results and was refused a refund. The owner was rude beyond belief and even went so far as to blame me for being "too cheap" to pay for an expedited service, which he never even discussed on the 11th. By contrast, there is a FedEx store across the street that has never failed to provide me with superior service. Save yourself the hassle and use them instead. Edit: The response posted by this store gives you a taste of their attitude. Personally, I would not do business with a company that implies in writing, and explicitly states over the phone, that a customer is lying. So allow me to clarify: if you are shipping to a physical address, us the FedEx at 1201 N Dearborn, less than a block away with a lovely and helpful staff. If you are shipping to a PO box, use the post office at 540 N Dearborn, which is slightly farther away from this pathetic excuse for a freight and shipping storefront, but is also staffed with friendly and helpful people. Furthermore, if you go directly to the post office you will end up paying up to half to one third of what these people charge. If you prefer to pay more money to treat with rude, dishonest, shiftless people and are unconcerned about your package actually arriving at its destination at the appointed time, by all means use this UPS store read more

This particular UPS store is ok. The store is kinda small but has a great location for the neighborhood it is in. As with all ups stores you can ship whatever you want to wherever you want and they will help you package your items up for their trip. However, the service here seems to be a little on the slow side. You almost get the sense that you are at the actual post office. Also, since the store is so small you aren't going to find a ton of packaging supplies to choose from. It's not really a location for shipping anything larger than a small box. read more

This is an awesome store. I've been in the Gold Coast for 20 years and have used all types of pack and ship places - and this one is the best one I have ever used. Staff is super helpful and very friendly. Also, they really know how to pack as well. I sent some precious metals that needed to be packed and secured properly and they did it quickly, securely and safely. The copy and fax service is so much better than FedEx - I'm in and out in minutes where FedEx takes forever - assuming they notice you at all. Love this UPS store - great asset to the neighborhood. mail xmas gifts, packages that need to get there (not just on time), etc. A really competent, professional, and friendly team. They're really on the ball and know their stuff. They give all options for mailing at different price points, delivery times, etc. You really feel well informed as a customer! There are also some... um... jerk customers that have PO boxes there. The team handles the jerks with 100% professionalism and you'd never know that they had just been dealing with a jerk. Very cool. You're just a few steps away from the Division stop or it's just down the street from you. Use them for your next shipping/packaging/boxing project. You'll like the experience. read more

I went in with my tax returns in too-small envelopes, and had folded them so poorly that they were just a mess... the woman in the store carefully peeled the unused stamps off my torn-too-much-to-be-used envelopes and gave me new envelopes (for free, I might add), had me re-address them, and folded the returns like an expert. They all fit, and I only paid $2 in postage that I had underestimated. Overall a great experience, particularly for late morning on a Saturday! read more

Nick and Clay are incredible - I walked in with 40 packages to mail out for work, all in different packages and different weights. They were patient, helpful and even downright cheerful! No matter what kind of chaos is going on with their customers, they are calm and cool. With a FedEx just across the street, they are the best argument for sticking with UPS. Even without comparing the service to the Fed Ex store on the opposite corner, I am pleased to "find" this printing place. Not only is there cost per color print sheet 60 cents lower than Fed Ex, the clerk helped me very quickly. I came in to print labels from a pdf file in my email. Quickly, the clerk looked up my labels to determine if they were ink-jet or laser, asked me to email the store the file, and then printed it in about 5 minutes. The cost was $1.28! And he said it's a regular post office, too, so no more walking over to the Hancock Building to ship books. I recommend this store for printing! read more

wow, great service and good price. I first went across the street to the fedex office to get some standard labels printed...3 sheets with just one sentence on it. fedex told me they couldn't do it that day and it would take 5-7 days to print, WHAT? 5-7 days to print 3 sheets of labels? that doesn't make sense, oh and also it would cost me $35. no thanks...so I walked across the street to the ups store and the very nice guy printed them off for me in about 5 minutes and it only cost me $1.31. what a deal! note: I did supply my own labels but I was open to purchasing new ones if need be. anyway, I would definitely recommend this ups store as they are easy going and very helpful. read more

Avoid this UPS store. Go to FedEx diagonally across the street. One of the employees was rather rude to me when I asked for a new envelop and inquired about a tracking number after originally asking for first class. He also had a rather snarky attitude toward a customer next to me who was taken aback by the price of a small package shipment. I'll be spending my money elsewhere, and strongly suggest you do the same. The FedEx nearby, on the other hand, has always had excellent service when I've gone there. I stopped by the 47 W Division street UPS store this afternoon to drop off two packages. My first package was rejected because it was 'postal' and thus none of their business. Slightly taken aback I asked the associate about my next package, an internet modem I was returning to Clear. The manager of the store was overlooking the situation and refused to take the package because he "Had difficulties with the company in the past" I agreed with him, and reminded him that I was in fact returning their product. He then informed me that his UPS location would not do business with Clear and that I should take my request elsewhere. I live in Uptown and was in the area doing some errands, so when I asked where the closest UPS location was that would do business with Clear he wouldn't give me the exact address but vaguely pointed down division and told me it was a few blocks west of where we were. He also refused to call ahead to the store (To make sure they did business with Clear and were able to serve me) because he believed the Dominick's Square (Division and Clybourne) had "Questionable ethics." I have never experienced such unprofessional treatment from a national corporation. I was completely taken aback by the hostile attitude of the manager. UPS is a franchise yes, however it makes no sense that an individual store would place such restrictions and judgments on other respectable entities. It is bad for business and reflects poorly on UPS as a whole. I took my business to the other UPS Store and found them to be incredibly polite and helpful. I told the associate about my experience at the previous store and he was as shocked as I was about my encounter. read more
