My husband who is 75 and visually handicapped went in and asked them to make two photocopies of a health insurance form for him. He was not able to use the self service machines due to his visual impairment. They charged him $.60 for the copies, which was fine. They also charge a $2.50 set up fee. I think that was crazy and that they took advantage of a handicapped individual. I frequented this store many times in the past, but will go elsewhere in the future. read more

So I checked on the UPS website how much it would cost me to ship a letter overseas by next day air. I got the amount ( $46) and walked to this UPS store where they told me they don't do next day air and that for 2-day delivery it would cost $81. So I told the employee what the UPS website had quoted me, to which she answered verbatim: "well, we're not UPS, so I can't answer for them". Ummmm "OK" i said "you're a contractor or franchisee but that is still the UPS logo on the back wall, are you telling me the UPS website is wrong?" To which she plainly answered "Yes" as she looked at me as if saying the final word. I pushed back and she said "well, if you like we can send it by DHL for $41". Not her fault entirely, other than she wasn't extremely friendly at all, but the UPS Store and UPS have some major training and operational issues to deal with. Stunning. For everyone in 60613, 60640 and 60625 who has ever had a bad experience with the U.S. Postal service in Uptown, Ravenswood/Albany Park or Lake View (and there are many), the UPS Store at Lincoln and Belle Plaine is your solution. On a recent visit, even when I gave the wrong street name for a delivery to Milwaukee (gave Milwaukee Avenue when it should have been Wisconsin Avenue) and then returned 5 minutes later to get it changed, the experience was extremely positive. No eye rolling, patronizing or rude attitude from the clerk who was in the midst of training a new employee. The last time that I visited the U.S. Post Office in 2009, I got the distinct impression that the male clerk was either hitting on me or was high. I think he was high and definitely on the verge of postal behavior. Life is so much easier at the UPS Store! read more

I needed to get a document notarized and overnighted, and accomplished both things quickly and efficiently. This store is managed and staffed by the owners - wow! Friendly and pleasant. When I thought I'd lost my receipt today (I needed the tracking #) I phoned and was immediately helped. I plan to use this store for all my shipping. Also - parking is easy. read more

The staff here is always polite, helpful, and friendly. I rent a mailbox here and they automatically send a text message/email when a package comes in, so I know when to come in and pick something up. I've sent a few packages out from this location, and it's always been painless. read more

I chose this location for a PO box almost 3 years ago, as I lived nearby at the time and it was really convenient. I have been there ever since, and while I've moved to another neighborhood still head up there for all my shipping needs. The owner and staff are incredibly efficient, knowledgable and friendly. Even around the holidays with long lines, they move you through quickly without making you feel rushed. Their customer service is impeccable...I highly recommend this for shipping, PO service, etc. etc. read more

I took too prepaid packages into this store to be shipped. I had not yet attached the labels to the boxes, but the clerk in the store said it was absolutely no problem and that they would take care of it. I was extra clear about which label went with which box, but they did not attach them in front of me. Big mistake! The boxes got the wrong labels and now the store takes zero responsibility. read more

I had them do my new business cards. It was easy, inexpensive and the cards turned out great. I used to pay probably 3 times the price for pretty basic cards. These ones have a nice coating on the outside and they look pretty sharp. I'm planning on doing more printing with this store. read more

This place offers the best service--friendly, helpful, and responsible. They got bad information about what ground service would be available over the holidays and so the packages I sent were late being delivered.... they refunded the total cost of delivery. Astonishing. I just wasted $10.13 for nothing. I wanted to print a page of PowerPoint color file in 11x17 size. I straggled to navigate their computer interface. Finally I print out only a picture part of it in black and white, which is useless for my purpose. The store person said there is selection of color or BW, which I looked for a couple of minutes but could not find. I've been in this store twice- mind you just to drop off my amazon returns so I haven't technically used their service. The store doesn't really make any money off of me but both times they have offered to tape my package up or a receipt. The staff is always friendly and courteous. read more

I've had some reasonable service here, once I've actually gotten inside. On more than one occasion, the store has been closed during its posted hours, especially in the morning. The first time, which I'd hoped was an anomaly, a girl showed up 25 minutes late and opened the front door once about five customers, including myself, were standing out on the front sidewalk having a conversation about why they weren't open. She mumbled something about living out in the suburbs and commuting in, and then we all had to wait another 15 minutes or so while she went through her whole opening routine before she could help us. Well, it happened again this morning. I had a package that I had to ship by this afternoon, and dropped by the store in the window of time that I had, only to find them locked and closed a half hour after their posted hours said they would be open. Had to ship the package through the post office, which cost me an extra $25-$30. Thanks for nothing, neighborhood UPS store. This place has become a bit of a joke. read more

I really like these people, friendly with good service but I have to give a low grade for FAX service. I guess maybe I'm living in the dark ages but was shocked at how expensive sending a FAX is - $2 for the first page an $1 for each page after. I just assumed that something so mundane run off the phone line and an ongoing function at work would be a lot cheaper. You can imagine my surprise as I was going for my change but instead had to whip out a $10 bill. OK, I'm clueless but my rating reflects my feeling that they should have told me the cost before they sent it. read more

Maybe it's not entirely fair to rate a shipping service during high season but that's the business they're in and if they can't hit it then, well, then it's time for them to figure it out. Brought a box in 11 days before Christmas. The person who helped me--very nice and friendly--said that they only way to guarantee delivery for Christmas was the 3-day option for $50. When asked what the estimate was for ground service, he refused to even take a stab. The thing is, they can figure it out; it's an automated business and they know pretty well when things are gonna move. Anyway, I opted for ground and he was like Donnie Downer, saying it wouldn't be there. Well, here's the thing. It's already in destination city and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, six days after it was shipped. Also, and this was a total head scratcher--the system didn't recognize the address. It's safe to say UPS has delivered hundreds of packages there over many years. Overall, this was not a good experience and while I'm not sure if it is a UPS issue, a problem specific to this location or a little of each, it was a thumbs down thing. I went here to have an outdoor sign printed on vinyl and attached to a plastic surface. We brought in a file and a printed piece to match color. Received the sign and it was the wrong color. After much haranguing and major attitude by their so called graphics person they agreed to remake it and refund the amount I was over overcharged! Yep they overcharged me and luckily I caught it. First time I used the sign it warped and rippled. When I tried to remove it from it's backing it ripped because they printed it on paper. Instead of vinyl like I specified. Brought it in and they admitted they had it printed on paper but said they sprayed it with something and assumed it would hold up then refused to remake it without charging me because they are a small business. Guess what, I'm a small business too and me paying someone to run back and forth for their incompetence when they knew it was printed on paper is cutting into my bottom line. I finally had to file a claim with my credit card company to reverse the charges because they refused to give me a refund. read more
