I don't really think this location is that terrible, although my experience was limited to a 5-or-so-minute interaction. But I had a good chuckle when both employees referenced their awful Yelp rating, which I had noticed before walking in. Needed to ship a return. My package was taped and just needed about two 6 inch pieces to tape the return address to the label. Instead of providing quality customer service it was offered that I pay 3 dollars for a full packaging roll. Horrible customer service, although I'm well aware that my holiday business is minuscule. I will never step foot into this store again. The employees are rude and condescending. I had a bad experience there a year ago, and vowed never to return. I had to go back yesterday because I was returning a package to a store that specifically stated the package had to be dropped off at a UPS service center, not a drop box. Against my better judgement, I went back. I followed the directions on the web site exactly. They said NOT to affix the shipping label because it needed to go into a UPS plastic sleeve. When I told this to the young man behind the counter, he said, "Well, they're just wrong. You have to buy tape." When I refused, he said, "I'll tape this one for you just this once, but do you understand what I'm doing for you here?" I resisted the urge to say, "Oh yes, I see you're saving the life of my first born son." Instead I said, "You're taping on a shipping label," and he said, "That's right, and I never want you to come in here again without everything taped up. Do you understand?" Oh, yes. I understand. I've had a post box here for several years, I've shipped things, I've bought stamps, made copies, pretty much the range of what they offer, and they have been extremely friendly and courteous on EVERY single visit. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about?? I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Went in for a simple notary service and they were either too lazy or simply not smart enough to accomplish it. Went down the street to the bank and they had it taken care of in five minutes. I called to complain, and the large, sweaty man who was unable to notarize my documents earlier refused to give me his name. Said he was "not willing to have his name attached to a negative review" (how spineless is that?). He was also INCREDIBLY rude. After looking at previous reviews of this store it has become clear that this is the general attitude of the management and employees there. So do yourself a huge favor and don't even bother with these people. There's another UPS store in town with much better reviews--just go there instead! read more

I don't know what's wrong with all these people leaving bad reviews, and about stupid stuff. I had a great experience at this store. The staff was friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. While I was there I even overheard a customer complain about having to buy a roll of tape for their prepaid label and at first I thought it was a little silly too, but then the employee explained that any kind of prepaid label is supposed to be ready to go when it is brought in. They, the employees, are not allowed to tape them because then it becomes some kind of liability for the store, a risk, and I can understand that. The employee also mentioned that they don't get paid anything for packages that are prepaid. UPS gets all the money and the store just gets the hassle of dealing with hundreds of packages a day that they don't get a cent for. Not to mention the people who throw a fit about tape because they can't read instructions that clearly say that the owner of the package is to affix the label to the box/bag. It does not say take your item, label and an empty box to the store and they'll take care of everything. That's like asking the employees to help you out in exchange for nothing, which is like trying to pay for gas with Monopoly money. Come on! Anyway, this is a great place to ship your packages. They can send it UPS or USPS which is awesome and they package everything with great care. I highly recommend shipping with them. read more

This is a terrible place to spend your money! These UPS stores are a franchise so "policy" is made by the owners. Their "policy" of charging for Amazon labels is nonsense and they do it because they think you will pay because you are there. They print labels for ALL their packages and they get paid the same postage whether Amazon is paying or you are paying. The same way they get paid if your sending a package elsewhere. This "policy" is nothing more than milking the customer and has nothing to do with Amazon or the UPS corporation. And according to the reviews some say it's $1 a label and some say $2 a label. Maybe its their self imposed "tip" money.The woman helping me was disrespectful on the phone and discourteous in the store. She could not care less about customer service or return business. There is a UPS store about 1.5 miles away in Philomath that is fabulous. The Philomath store is helpful, efficient, courteous and actually wants your business. Guess what...NO CHARGE to print an Amazon return label! No charge to print ANY label. And they help you with anything you need assistance with! Needless to say I refused to pay for the label and went to Philomath. read more

Same story as other reviews. Refused to accept my packages that did not have labels already taped. Woman was rude and acted like she was moving heaven and earth by saying she would make an exception and tape them for me. She also said the plastic sticky envelopes they put the labels in were too expensive to provide. Oh, sure. I just bought a roll of tape since it would have been too traumatic for her to do her job. read more

Hmmm....everyone keeps saying they were denied tape. Well, I didn't ask for tape, instead the employee took my package before I was even finished with it and put it on the table. When I asked him if I needed to tape it myself, his reply was, "No, I thought gravity would make it happen." Very snarky and I was a little confused as to what warranted the rudeness. Then I noticed they had a pick up for USPS. When I asked if there were any limitations on the size of the package I could leave for pickup, I received another rude answer. Sorry, I'm not an expert in the business of shipping OR of providing a service to customers. I would have much preferred to have been explained any of their policies, instead of the implication that I was an idiot for not knowing them as soon as I walked in the door. I left feeling annoyed, and now am wondering if I was right to even trust them with my packages. And P.S. I have been to other UPS stores which DO provide tape on a roll at the table for use by anyone who may need to seal a package or slap on a label. So the story about it being a liability is just another example of the lameness of this store. Hope the owner cares enough to step up the customer service. I won't likely step a toe in this store ever again. Always have had good experience at Philomath store, but today this was closer. Not worth the proximity! GO TO PHILOMATH UPS STORE!!!! read more

I had a UPS Store nightmare when I mailed my daughter her passport with two day shipping. I mailed it from the Morro Bay UPS store, who is lucky enough to have Jessica, to the Corvallis UPS Store. Somewhere in transit the passport was lost. Jessica spent hours researching and trying to find my package. She finally succeeded and ensured that it would be delivered to the Corvallis Store. When my daughter went to retrieve it, that store informed her that they refused to accept the package. I called Jessica back. She contacted the store and assured me that they would except it. I arrived in Corvallis the next day, was charged a $10.00 fee for acceptance of the package and encountered the most non customer service oriented, rude, unkind and non-caring employee I have ever had the great displeasure of meeting. I hope to save the general public from being subjected to this women by visiting that store! read more

RATING ZERO!!! No stars at all. I have used the 9th street Corvallis store for years. Service has gotten worse at every visit. Plus they no longer will provide receipts when you drop off pre-labeled packages. EVERY other facility that accepts UPS drop offs provides receipts to the customer. Staff informed me that they no longer will provide receipts because they do not want to be held liable if the package is lost by UPS. [If UPS drivers scan the package upon pick up the store is no longer liable, UPS assumes the responsibility and package becomes trackable in the UPS system.] I don't accept the store answer and will no longer be using this location for any services. Anyone can walk out the door with your package and there is no record of it ever being dropped off. Unacceptable new policy. If no receipts are provided than other stores or shipping options will be used for our shipping needs. read more
