The difference between this UPS Store just off I-40 exit 276 in Durham and the other UPS store close to me, Meadowmont in Chapel Hill, are the hours. This location opens and closes one hour later than the Meadowmont location: 9:00am-7:30pm, Monday-Friday and 10:00am-5:00pm, Saturday. Both locations are closed on Sunday. If I need to go to the UPS Store after the Meadowmont location has closed for the day, I will come to this one. (The Fordham Blvd location in Chapel Hill has the same hours as Meadowmont.) I came here and dropped off a bag of used Nespresso pods to be recycled. The bag had a prepaid shipping label on it. The UPS Store employee gave me a drop-off package receipt (standard). During my visit around 4:30pm on a Saturday, the store was busy with a socially-distant line outside and everyone mask-compliant. There were two employees and only two to four customers inside the store at a time. The employees were polite. They worked fast and efficiently. This is UPS Store #5399. It's sandwiched between four businesses. The parking lot in front can get congested. I suggest parking around the corner on the other side of Mattress Firm. I needed to ship back a package to Amazon. They charge three dollars to print a one page document with the label to go back to Amazon. And you cannot use cash which is ridiculous. The entire process was a fiasco and to say I was very disappointed is an understatement I will not return to the store. I was unable to ship the box. I read more

I haven't frequented many UPS stores but this location was particularly frustrating. After being quoted $15 for shipping, my final price changed after they packed it into the box of their choosing (not updating me or asking my input/opinion or if it was what I wanted) to almost 4x the amount I was originally quoted. They gave me no other options, wouldn't allow me to cancel the transaction and go elsewhere, didn't explain to me how much packaging would cost and change the quote prior to doing it and actually laughed about how much it was costing me. Going from $16 to $50 with no updates throughout the process just made me feel as though I had been taken advantage of. I hope the USPS continues to exist because I had been recommended to the UPS store but it's clear this is not a beneficial option to the customer. read more

I do a lot of buying from auction houses and shipping on my own. bought about 60 Santas from Leland Little Auctions and after their affiliated shipping company quoted $881 to ship up East coast, I started some comparative quotes. THIS STORE was by far the best price vs 2 others. I told them exactly the 2 boxes I would need and they followed it perfectly. BEST transaction ever. well packed No breakage. This is an outstanding UPS store. The staff here are patient, cooperative, and knowledgeable. I recently sent three photographs from Durham to New Mexico. The staff person in Durham helped me get good pricing and looked after everything in a professional way. The photos arrived in perfect shape and right on time. In my experience, UPS is far better and more reliable than FedEx. And this store is the one to take your packages to. I also like the USPS, btw. But for my large flat package, UPS was the way to go. They not only helped me figure out how to package it, but also stayed past the 5pm Saturday closing time to assist me in getting it checked out. 5 star service. 5 star employees. Needed a package to get to South Carolina by Saturday. How far is it, maybe 5 hours driving? Paid an exhorbitant amount to get it shipped there, only to find out that today (Sunday) the package has still not arrived and the festival organizers (to whom I sent the package) are frantically calling about where the hell is it. Called UPS customer service to learn that my package did not even MOVE from this location until Saturday with estimated delivery on Monday (in spite of promises and reassurance that it would get there on Saturday) -- which is absolutely useless to me as well as the buyers. I would rather crawl on glass on my knees to get a package to its destination than to use this place again. read more

Friendly and fast. I only use UPS and I only use this store. They're great and Paula is always really helpful. USPS consistently loses packages. My closest FedEx store just didn't compare in prices or service. I've been coming here for a few years now and will continue to do so. read more

I needed to return an item to Diesel. Their instructions said to take to the nearest UPS Store if I was unable to print the return they would handle it. I specifically told the guy behind the counter at 6:30pm today that I wasn't able to print the shipping label. He asked if I had a code so I showed him the label. In other UPS Stores they have scanned the information from my phone but this dude didn't seem to know how. He said I need to print it. I asked if he understood that I already told him I couldn't do that. He then said snarky to use the computer behind me. I guess I'm supposed to be a mind reader? He then wanted me to swipe a card & log onto my email there. First of all this didn't even seem sanitary from a COVID standpoint not a secure one. I declined. I'll take my business to Office Depot. I can purchase a box from them AND send the info to their email address to print for me. Also, beware of the mask below the nose on this guy. read more

I've used a lot of UPS stores around the country over the past 10 years. This store has the best service by far. All of the employees have been especially helpful and timely in my requests. I want to commend Charlie particularly, he is the best of the best. If I was starting a service business I'd hire him in a minute based on his performance consistently for all customers in the store. read more

It was closing time and people kept coming in, there was still a long line and there were customers in need of personal assistance including me and he still showed the same professionalism to every customer. UPS is the absolute worst shipping company! I paid for 2 day air on a package, got confirmation emails that it would be on time and the day of delivery get an email stating it would be another 3 days. When I call to inquire I'm told that the high volume for the holidays is to blame, meanwhile the tracking info shows the package sat in their facility for 2 days. Now my math says it's impossible to ship a package in 2 days when it sits in a warehouse for 2 days, no matter what holiday it is. If you can't meet the obligations then you shouldn't sell the option! $50 dollars in shipping for 2 day air and it's going to arrive the same time as a $7 ground package. read more

I went to this store to send a fax worst mistake ever. When they sent a fax it went through twice and they charge me double. This is a bad business practice.I can understand if it was me sending the fax but they do it for you. Will never go back. I did not complain just paid it and left. read more
