Hold up! I must have missed the memo. Why are there so many 1-star reviews? I can't attest for the shipping or printing services offered at this location, but we frequent this store for pickups and the typical shazam. I had a package overnighted to me via UPS air. The guy at the desk was professional, understanding of the situation given the fact that I could not provide him with payment immediately. He was patient in allowing me to call my credit card company to figure things out. It was a pleasant experience overall. Though the consistent bad reviews here have me a little on edge about sending/dropping off packages here. read more

This complaint is about the UPS Store located at 176-25 Union Turnpike Fresh Meadows NY. Today July 14th, 2020 I try dropping off four prepaid packages from amazon, they refuse to give me a receipt and told me they are no longer giving receipts to customer, because of that I didn't leave my packages, I took them to another location and everything went smoothly, the guys at 176-25 Union Turnpike location is not customer friendly and in the past they will say just throw the package there instead of taking it from customers, this is not a very good place to do business and if you do just pray that your package is not lost. I used to like coming to this UPS location, mainly because it's conveniently very close to where I live and they would get packages to its destination with no problem. However, the past several visits where I've dropped off a package to these people, they have turned up missing and I've have had to call UPS to file claims for missing packages. Whether it's $150 item or a $10 item, it's still my money they're losing and they're not being penalized for it. It is beyond frustrating, I don't know what these people are doing at the store but they are clearly not doing the most proficient job because I just got off the phone with customer service (once again) because a package of mine, that I shipped out from this location, got lost in transit (once again). Went in to send a small box 2lbs. Asked for UPS Ground. It came out to $16. I was a little taken back but I know UPS is costly... Well.. I get my receipt, I head home. Later I check the receipt and it turns out it's for USPS?!! The guy there sold me USPS when I asked for UPS GROUND... In a UPS STORE?! USPS has the worst tracking system let alone $16 for USPS Priority when it is only $6.00 with their USPS box. So I called up and spoke with Johnnie and I'm told it's too late to do anything about it. This is the worst store to have your package shipped from. They have never lost my package ever when I shipped textbooks and merchandise back to the company. The only time this happened was last Saturday. It's funny how the main item inside my padded envelope was missing. How do you blame the customer and be quick to defend yourself and say "we only seal it and ship it." If that was the case then it shouldn't be lost. If the whole package was lost then that's a completely different problem. The manager even told me not to seal it when I was going to seal it myself. If you can afford to go to another UPS store, do so. I never write bad reviews but after this experience, I had to. The lady there was so unbelievably rude and refused to answer my question about a package that had arrived. I stood there for 20 minutes while she kept taking other customers until eventually I left. I have never in my life yelled at a worker but could not resist after how rude and condescending and unhelpful this woman was. How do you yell at customers for wanting help? How do you get mad at having to do your job? Seriously, try to stay away from this place. They charge for literally everything and take advantage of the students that come in and they don't even deserve the business. Truly what an awful, miserable exchange. This place gets super busy, location is small and quaint. Not the best parking as everyone double parks and will block you in. The service is quick & friendly. It's convenient as I was traveling out of town and needed my packages to be sent to the store instead of my place where no one would be. I was basically in and out, unfortunately I was also blocked in from where I had parked on the street. But overall, not the worst UPS store I have been to. read more

Rude employees. Charged $1 to print a label which should have been free and all they say was "store policy." Even copy places don't charge this much to print a paper. Especially being a UPS store, you'd think they would go by UPS rules and print for free which they offer and was indicated on Amazon as well. Just visit the store for simple drop off since it was closest UPS drop off place. Thank God I did not have to deal with these guys. Wish I read these reviews prior to going to store. The woman at the store was so incredible rude. Would give zero stars if possible. She refused to accept a large package and when I asked if it was posted that they do not take packages of this size she began yelling at me. They had already scanned my package, so I suggested I just move it (weighs about 10 lbs) to where she needed. She then took the time to delete the scan hand me her card (thanks Kathy) and tell me to call UPS. Please do not go here unless this is the kind of customer servicec you are accustomed to. read more

It does its job but in terms of a brick and mortar store, it offers nothing more than the service. Customer service is rather impertinent. I am a normal visitor dropping off my packages however this time I found myself requiring a small cardboard box. Needless to say upon asking, I found myself regretting my question. I was answered abruptly, in a matter of fact fashion. Price of a cardboard box for a 5"x 5" product was near 6 dollars and upon asking for any cheaper options I was given no valid response other than with a take it or leave it. Overall: I probably will return, but with much more caution in terms of dealing with the members of staff. Will not recommend this store to anyone. read more

Beware, if you are returning a package to amazon or using Amazon's new print-the-label at the UPS store feature, this store will charge you $1 to actually print the label which should have been free to begin with! $1 may not seem a lot but it is still an inconvenience especially when the point of printing the label at the store is supposed to save you money and hassle. I went here thinking I'd be returning an item (which is about $8) and ended up spending an additional $1 for the fee. It is not company policy nor does Amazon know about this, I will be letting them know and writing this negative review in regards to that. read more

DO NOT go to this store. If you need to ship anything, avoid this place as much as possible! The reviews listed here are all true and I too was screwed over. All I wanted was to ship a package ground. I already had it packed myself. When I walked in the guy who works there had such an unpleasant attitude. I asked to ship ground and was told to fill out a slip. After that I was told it would cost roughly $14. I couldn't believe it and ask is this for UPS ground? I was told it was. I received my receipt and I saw it had no information on it for tracking. The guy tells me I need to pay extra for tracking and now it's too late. I will never step foot in this place again and you shouldn't either. I'm sure they won't last much longer. read more

First time dropping off my packages at this UPS store location. I was obviously confused about the whole process of packing and dropping off my items. I asked for their packing and shipping service, they visibly didn't handle my items with care. They also were planning to charge extra fees for using a credit card as a form of payment. I ended up paying in cash to avoid the fee, but was NOT given a receipt. I found out my mistake not even 20 minutes late and called customer service. I had an once-in-a-lifetime experience at this UPS store today. I was returning an envelop that was smaller than a letter sized paper, and one of the sides wasn't completely taped. When I asked the worker if they could tape the side for me, they charged me $1 for two pieces of 6.3" long tape. Paying $1 for two pieces of tape (11.844in2 in dimensions/piece) should promise an ULTIMATE SEAL because the current market price for 11.844in2/piece of Scotch Heavy-Duty Packing Tape should just worth $0.0191 (little over a penny). I recommend this UPS store to anyone who is in a dire need to have their packages taped in a golden, bullet-proof, water-proof tape that you can't find anywhere else in this world because it MUST be magical :) read more

This is the last time I'm giving business to this location. Have gone there several times before and although their customer service was always lacking, I overlooked it because the transactions were straight forward (already printed UPS labels on boxes that were simply dropped off). However, I recently had to send in my passport renewal and as you can understand, pretty important documents are involved and I wanted to make sure I am able to track the package. After I hand them my package, I ask the lady behind the counter what the tracking number is, she tells me it's the number in the upper right hand corner of the "parcel shipping order" receipt she gave me. It didn't look right because the number is only 8 digits but she was so abrupt and I figured she would know what she's talking about so I left. 2 days later, I go on UPS.com to try to track the shipment and the number was invalid. Annoyed, I call the store up and they weren't apologetic in the least. Furthermore, they spent over 5 minutes looking up my order. At this point I'm getting pretty upset because I really need my passport back ASAP for an upcoming trip and these people are not helping. Finally, he finds my package and tells me that "this is USPS". Apparently UPS does not ship to PO BOXES. That's ALL he says for the next 3 minutes he had me on hold and had me worrying my package is lost somewhere!!!! He just kept saying "hold on a minute". How inconsiderate is THAT?!!! Why didn't they tell me this when the package was dropped off 2 days ago I have no idea. Finally he says do you have a pen and paper and proceeds to rattle off a tracking number for me to copy down (yes, a REAL tracking number at last) and tells me that the package will be delivered end of the day. Apparently they ended up shipping my package via USPS. Which I could've done myself if they had told me from the beginning and it would have cost me 1/3 of what they charged and none of the grief. This place has DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. STAY AWAY!!! I went in to talk to some guy named Edward to pick up a package released by my sister. He told me that he wasn't the one on the phone and that some other guy named "Tim" conveniently was on break when I came in but he was the one who spoke to my sister and TOLD her his name was Edward. Later turns out that "Tim" was the one sitting at the computer eating his lunch and wasn't professional enough To stand up for himself. At first when my sister called they said the package wasn't there. Later it magically shows up when I showed up to pick up. How convenient is that? Considering it was sent from and expensive merchant... Needless to say "Edward" said that he can't release the package since it's their "policy". But on the phone told my sister "just send her in". I called Ups and they said this "policy" was incorrect. Manager Kathy was cursing at me in Chinese and telling me about how UpS is not "above them" and to "have fun trying to get my package". Needless to say I will NEVER enter this nasty business again! This place will be reported to the better business bureau and this doesn't end here! My friend mailed a couple pieces of paper within the US and those guys charged her $40+ !!! They explained it to her it's second day shipping by air but when she tracked the mail those guys didn't ship until three days later!!! Wonder why they're still open. read more

St. John's Univ students - STAY AWAY!! they are too convenient right across from campus, but for that exact reason they prey on the students who are a big part of their business. I shipped a cell phone to a friend. They packaged it up for me, so they knew what it was I was sending. When my friend received the box, it was cleverly sliced open along the tape line on one end, but not completely. Just enough to shake out the phone. My friend got a nicely packaged box with nothing in it but packing styrofoam. Can't prove it was this place that stole it, but given the crappy history here from all these negative reviews, and the fact that only they knew what was in the box... Well, you can add 1+1 just like I can... Not to mention they are very rude, brutally abrasive, and make unkind comments about their customers when they think no one is listening or understands what they are saying. 1 star is entirely too much. I was ripped off when dropping off some packages for shipment. The clerk was rude and unwilling to give me an itemized receipt. The receipt just had a total, so I was unable to understand why the shipping fees were so expensive. When I went online to estimate shipping costs on the UPS website, I realized I was overcharged by 3-fold! This store is so sinister. read more

I had the most horrified, frighten and humiliating experience in this store. The staff didn't want to help with anything, and demanded me to pay for something I didn't buy. When I refused to pay they became irate and violent. On September 10, 2014 around 3:45 pm, I walked into the UPS store at 176-25 Union Turnpike, Fresh Meadows to drop off some documents to the NYS Education Department. The documents were in a NYSED manila envelope; on the outside, it listed the content. I asked the clerk for a plastic UPS envelope so I could put the manila envelope in there; he was extremely rude and said that he didn't know what I was talking about. When he finally gave me the plastic bag, I put the manila envelope in it, sealed the bag and gave him a prepaid label with pre-printed address. He told me to "stick it yourself." I told him I wasn't sure what to do. He said "it's not my job to do this, you stick it yourself." I put on my glasses, managed to peel off the edges from the label and glue it on the envelope, but two copies of the labels fell off. I asked him what to do with them. He gave me one copy, asked me to tape the other copy back, pointing at the shelf. I looked at the shelf; there were a lot of tapes on it. Not sure which one to use, I asked him again. He pointed at the shelf and said "tape it myself." I picked up a small roll of scotch tape, taped the copy on the plastic envelope. As soon as I put the scotch tape on the shelf, he asked me to pay for it. I was stunt and refused to pay because he asked me to use the tape on the shelf. Another lady who works there jumped up from her seat, walked toward me, and they (three workers in the store) threatened to call the police if I didn't pay. I told them I would not pay, and if they could scan my package, give me the receipt and I would be out of their store. He scanned the package, printed the receipt, torn up the receipt, forcefully threw the package at the door, and yelled me to get out. I was shock and thought that they would attack me since I was the only customer there. I quickly fished the package from the floor and left. Their behavior is OUTRAGIOUS. They don't deserve to be in business. I want to warn anyone who has to deal with them be 110% alert because they will do anything to take your money. And if they don't get their way, they will get crazily mad. SHAME ON THEM!!!!! I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THAT STORE... read more
