Bottom line...UPS stores are awesome...this one not so much. Customer service is important and this place lacks it. I don't care that they charged me for a plastic bag. Any respectable business would and all locations do that. But the location in greenbrier, and all Fedex locations, and even the post office... especially during non-busy hours will. 1) take your label a fix it to the box or bag. 2) seal the box or bag. And often do it after you leave to make drop off of Thoes items super easy. Not this location...you will be met with agents who want to explain how things have to be closed and you are responsible to do it...even though they have a FREE TAPE GUN RIGHT BEHIND THE REGISTER. It would have been one thing had the location been super busy...but I was the only person in the store. They could have taken the 30 seconds with their tape gun in front of me and sealed it. Even had they said we prefer items to be presealed before you walk up...but since you are here and buying product here you go. read more

I continue to come in here every so often. Mostly to get stuff faxed or photocopied. Verizon has an account with The UPS Store. Recently Verizon replaced my HD DVR set top box. I had to ship the old one back to them. I applied the shipping label they provided and all I had to do was drop it off in the same shipping box and The UPS Store handled it - no charge and no fuss. I will say their faxing costs seem a tad on the steep side. I know they are a business and need to make money. I had an 11 page fax to send out today - and I guess the charge is $1.00 per page - as I paid $11.00 and change. Might be time to consider buying my own dedicated fax machine! In any case, the folks working here have always been prompt and courteous in assisting me! read more

The UPS store at merchants view Square is unequivocally the best UPS store I have ever dealt with. Faith and Carson are absolutely wonderful. They are pleasant, professional, great at what they do and always help me find the best solution for whatever I ask them to help me with. I don't know all of the names of the people that I've helped me at this UPS store but I've not been let down by anyone at this location. Faith and Carson stand out as going far above and beyond. I know that I will always get a welcoming smile from them when I enter, Even though most of the time I enter with a frantic "I don't know what to do!" UPS SHOULD BE PRONOUNCED "OOPS". Staff was polite and friendly - provided good service initially. However, I paid for overnight delivery with gauranteed arrival at 10:30am. The package - legal documents for the NY State Supreme Court - didn't arrive until after 3pm. When I requested a refund I was told that they no longer gaurantee delivery dates/times due to COVID - no mention of this when they took my money. Interesting since they are willing to charge full-fair and lie to their customers about their services. All I wanted was the delta between the fee for 10:30am deliverY and end of day delivery... maybe $12 - seemed fair to me that they get paid for the service they provided not the upcharged services which failed. Will be challenging the charges with VISA directly. Thank goodness I didn't pay cash. They lost what was a good client over a pitance - the manager wanted to do the right thing and even called the owner but the owner refused to refund the money - obviously not a very good entrepreneur - penny wise pound foolish. The owner should empower his employees to do the right thing and make decisions to support growing his customer base not push us away. UPDATE: Faith from the UPS Store called me back and explained the situation claiming she had informed me that there was no gaurantee of delivery. We had a heated discussion where she understood my point and agreed to refund my $12 - I know a lot of energy over a very small amount of money but it was the principle of the matter - total first world problem I get it. At the end of the discussion I complemented Faith for the "spirited debate" and told her I thought highly of her for listening and would think good things about the store going forward thus the need for my update from 1 star to 3 stars... will update again based on my next experience. Sent my letter on a 10 day sightseeing adventure of America when I told them I needed it there next day. Caused a whole slew of problems that snowballed from the document not being correctly entered into the system. No apology or explanation when I asked why the kid behind the counter couldn't manage a simple letter envelope. read more

Friendly staff, but ownership has NO sense of customer service whatsoever. 2 boxes totaling 80lbs, shipping from VA to TX had an incredibly exorbitant price of over $500! When I asked the staff to call the manager (he was at home and they did), he did absolutely nothing for me. Even though I had lower quotes from neighboring UPS stores. I stumbled across this location after eating at Tony's and remembered I needed to return some items I bought online. I am so glad I did. I have been there about 5 times since and am ever so grateful. Their hours are perfect for any working person and weekends. The Haymarket Post Office on Saturday mornings are a drag. Plus, if they decide to not shut down Post Offices on Saturdays I have a place to use. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. I don't go to the Post Office anymore. The UPS Store is more convenient. I just hope I stop getting the craving to eat at Tony's evertime I go! read more

Recipient did not receive package I shipped from UPS Store. When I went back to UPS store to get more information in order to find the missing package, the young male that I encountered was anything but helpful. He: 1. Snatched the paper I had with the pertinent information out of my hand 2. Kept repeating that the package was delivered to the correct address but would not help me understand what "left at HARWER" meant. 3. During the entire encounter, his tone of voice, attitude, and posture exuded a message of not wanting to be bothered with me and that he resented being asked to provide customer service. This is not the first time I have observed less than stellar behavior from this individual. A few weeks earlier, I was in the UPS Store and observed and heard the young male belittle and berate a fellow female worker. His comments clearly constituted harassment in the workplace. I wonder how or why this person is still employed as a face to the customer. What I can say is that I will take my business to another UPS Store or to FedEx; no one should be treated as I was. read more

I have a sad story with a happy ending. I shipped a high end computer from the UPS Store in Merchants Square worth $4500. They built a special box for it and packed it well. Unfortunately, UPS didn't treat it as well as they should and it arrived seriously damaged. The team the UPS Store (particularly Faith) were fantastic in making the insurance claim. The receiver didn't keep the box so UPS wasn't going to pay the claim. Faith went and reviewed the security footage of them packing the computer and send shots to UPS - who paid the claim! It would have been really easy for them to shrug and say "Can't be helped" but they didn't, they went the extra mile (several!) to ensure that I was treated fairly. This store is in my neighborhood and it is truly fantastic. I use them to drop off my amazon returns, to scan and print documents (I have no printer), and to do other mailing with tracking. I never ever want to have to visit a USPS branch. There is a young man there that I always have great service and small talk with. Highly recommend this UPS branch. read more

Well, third time I have edited this review. Tom seems to be a good person, and business owner. We love and try to support small businesses, family business, veteran owned/operated business and American businesses. Shipped a packages to Germany, and chose USPS due to being cheapest. That's the problem and moral of the story. I learned a lot after investigating what happened to my package. THis Store did nothing wrong, it was all USPS. If you were to use USPS go to the directly, don't go through a middle man. Better suggestion is to just send it through Tom using UPS. Cannot believe what I learned about United States postal service. As a taxpayer I'm shocked, and maybe we should abolish this leech, this flawed, this corrupt, this inept portion of our government, but anyway... Tom I appreciate your time I spoke with you in store 05/04/2018. I know you have had some employee turnover, though you always try and get the best people for the job in my opinion. Convenient, close by, and excellent service. I've been using this store to send packages to my son in the army, as well as Amazon and Verizon returns. The staff is helpful and informative. For my Verizon return, they recommended shipping with a tracking number since Verizon often loses track. And they were right. I needed the tracking number to show Verizon I had returned the non-op DVR. Thanks UPS store! read more

The Haymarket UPS store is not customer oriented. I went in to return a prepaid package without knowing I had to put the prepaid return label on it. I had the label on my phone and asked if I could just email it to them and let them print it right there. They said sure, but they would charge me $3 just to print it off, otherwise I needed to go back home, print it and then bring the package back. This is not the first time I've been price gouged by the store. I'm surprised they don't charge you for just walking through the door read more

Awful. Do not get your passport pictures taken. My daughter got hers done, we did not like them, too dark. They refused to redo them ( without compensation). Passport office in DC refused to accept them as well,saying they were too dark. We had to take new ones. Manager in Haymarket is is cocky. When I went to see him the next day,I told them what happened at the passport office. He wanted to take no responsibility. Just told me to have a nice day. Smirked and had a poor attitude. Offered no apologies. Awful, awful service. Do not get your passport pictures taken there. read more

This is by far the best mail box service and mail store that I have used over the past 10 years. The staff are always friendly, and assist with packages, or simply getting my mail out for me when they see me walk in. The way packages are kept and processed assures me no one else will pick up my package and that my mail is secure.
