It's fast when you get inside but the parking situation is so bad. Don't know why you'd choose this location for a UPS store

I was returning some stuff from Zappos. No big deal. I got to the store 10-12 minutes early and just figured I'd wait for them to open. Andy under no obligation to me opens the store early, enabling me to get on with my day a little sooner. Seems like a small factor. I was really pleased. He didn't have to do that. I'll be back. I'm not advocating for lurking outside at 745 am but I really appreciated him doing that. read more

Farrah's tip about parking is definitely important to take note. I actually walked over from having a late lunch at the Spicy Pickle. I actually had a pleasant experience returning an AT&T receiver and helped the UPS employee remember an old Chuck Norris movie (Sidekicks - 1992). In and out ~5 minutes. read more

Great customer service all the way around, but it is absolutely frustrating that my car alarm stops working everytime I come here. You know when you walk away from your car and press the remote lock on your key or keychain? Yeah that. It's disabled as soon as you park your car at this UPS Store. I have never heard of it happening anywhere but here. I did ask an employee about this and he said it happens when it rains. NOT! It happens every single time. No.... I'm not too lazy to lock my car manually. But you're usually already about to enter the store when you try to lock it remotely. So do I run inside real fast to get my mail or do I run back to my car to lock manually? I know I know....That's some First World Problems type of complaint; but they really need to find out why this keeps happening and Fix It! read more

Just dropped off a package that weighs barely over 1 lb. and the cheapest rate is $16.73 which includes an 82 cent Fuel Surcharge and 20 cent processing fee, Really! That is an insane price for such a small and light weight package to go the slowest way they can possibly send it. If the nutso company that I was returning the part to, they had a 15 bullet point list of mistakes on returning parts and no USPS or USPS labels were allowed, would allow USPS I could have sent it for 1/3 the cost and had it delivered in less than half the time! The shipping service was fast and courteous so no complaint there but the cost is prohibitive. Also the Notary was not available until later. This happened also the previous time I needed a notary so I will just call ahead to check in the future. When I returned, the process was easy and courteous so it is worth having to call ahead. read more

I just left this UPS store. I used to use this store all of the time but I moved so I use only when I'm in town. They don't notarize wills so don't bother with that and I brought boxes that had a return Label I got from Michael Kors with both UPS and USPS on it so they wouldn't scan and give me a receipt. Pretty pathetic. Also, the parking in front is ridiculous. 5 spaces but you have to be a stunt driver to get out of the 2 spaces on the right since a curb is behind you on a major street. BEWARE! YOU COULD BE TOWED. This store does not have adequate parking. Apparently, UPS has decided to take no responsibility for a horrible situation. Never park in that lot on the side. For whatever reason, UPS can't or won't spend a few bucks for their customers. Is it a bad relationship with River Oaks Shopping Center and Marshall's? Hard to say, but it cost me $87 to get the tow truck driver to drop my car which he had hooked up in less than five minutes from my arrival. I have a business account with UPS which I will no longer be using. It cost me almost $90 but they will lose more than from my account. I've had nothing but fantastic service at this location. I rent a box here, and they accept packages from any courier, including direct competitors of UPS. Considering this, and the peace of mind I get from not worrying about a package being stolen or left out in the elements, the price of the box is more than fair. The staff is always friendly and chatty, which I don't mind. I'm from a small town, and this kind of customer service peppered with conversation reminds me of home. The actual parking lot in front of the building is absolutely small and awkward. But there are tons of parking spaces in the adjacent lot that services a gym, Luby's, etc. It's possible to park there and walk ~10 feet to the door of this store. read more

My husband and I needed to have some documents notarized, and because we don't have to do that very often, we didn't immediately know where to go. After a quick internet search, we found that The UPS Store offers these services, and we were so happy with our experience at this particular location. Rather than helping us at the counter, Andrew actually came out from behind the counter and helped us at a table in the store. He was so professional and efficient, and the service itself was so affordable. Now we know where we'll go the next time we need something notarized. read more

During my short stint in Houston, I had a chance to discover a few businesses that went far above and beyond my expectations. This UPS store was definitely one of them. I'm a nomad. I've probably moved five or six times over the past few years. For an individual who has that sort of lifestyle, a reliable mailbox service is essential. I've had mailboxes and used services at a handful of UPS stores but I've never seen a store that was as professional and courteous as this one. The owner knew me by my name. Sometimes, she grabbed my mail for pick up even before entering the store - she just sees me outside and does it before I come in. The only downside, just as Farrah says, is parking. Don't park in the UPS store parking lot. Just park in lot for The Fit (River Oaks Shopping Plaza) gym to the left of the store, which is about 1000x easier to get in and out. This store is also one of the cleanest and probably the most well organized UPS store I've been to. Thanks, guys! read more

Don't walk in expecting a quick in and out visit Not sure if this is a practice of this individual store or all ups stores but while waiting in line I was pestered by a pushy and rude representative of Reliant trying to force a change in my electric service. Her booth was clearly visible upon walking in. I avoided it. She then began approaching individual people in line. I asked "Can i please just not be solicited. " Was met with a " Well I'm just doing MY JOB"...thanks for the interchange.... that really reflected poorly on what I already have known to be rude customer service in the electricity game. She then approached the older gentleman who was directly next in line. While attempting to be polite to her he invariably slowed down the line that was already barely progressing. She can make her sales pitch when people walk in...why go into the line?! UGH When its past 5pm and you are trying to deal with what is already a stressful situation (mailing documents/overnight and rush shipments etc) you don't want more stress added. Take note UPS store... I never want to walk in again... read more

Also quick and easy here -- the staff has never been anything but friendly and efficient. It is located right next to the Luby's on Waugh -- you can park next door - I have never had a problem with parking. Sometimes the lines can be a bit long, because it is rather small. They offer mailboxes in addition to the traditional UPS service. read more

It's not what happened to the package, which as I've already clearly stated, was immaculate. ..it's that the item was most likely damaged prior to shipping, whether at the auction house or while in the possession of The UPS Store. Neither establishment saw fit to accept that (or any) responsibility. You got your money, Lewis & Maese got their money....I have nothing, except the debt. I can only assume that a claim case or investigation was RE-opened after my Yelp review, because the UPS person I spoke to regarding my claim, told me it was denied, period, nothing would be done and that my only option was to take it up with the shipper. I called Andy at The UPS Store and he basically told me, 'ah well'....nothing he could or would do....store policy and all...... As I said in my review of Lewis & Maese, this situation happened to me once before and the other auction house refunded my entire cost; Item, Buyer's premium & shipping so that it didn't cost me anything. That auction house still gets my business because they took the honorable route and provided real customer service. read more

This location is in an upscale area where tons of business takes place. I got off work at 6 and went to the 2450 Louisiana location, no notary was available and I was told they don't do photos while I am reading in their banner that passport and ID photos are done. I go to store 1733, they have 3 notaries, all gone for the day, and I was told the camera hasn't worked in months. I asked to at least have the postage measured for the application, and it was $3.82 but I was charged $7.62 , and the receipt just said, "Miscellaneous non taxable." I wanted to ask why it cost $4.00 to weigh and place postage, the worker wouldn't open the door because it was 7:05pm. read more

I'm hoping management will read these reviews and take some steps to improve. I am a long-time customer and I have seen the service deteriorate significantly over the last maybe 8-12 months. I used to leave there thinking everyone was so nice and I was so glad I had found them. They are still pleasant (except for one person who suddenly turned into a grump a few months ago), but they are not providing the services that they used to provide, and there doesn't seem to be much initiative on the part of the staff. The parking is a problem too. Rather than be frustrated with the deterioration of service, I started doing business somewhere else. read more

Yes, parking can be tough since there are only a few spaces in front of the store. But you can park in the lot to the south (where LUBY'S Cafeteria is located) right next to the store . I have used this UPS store since 2005 because I worked overseas until 2010--my mail was always forwarded to me NO MATTER WHERE I WAS IN THE WORLD! If you're physically unable to walk a few steps to the front store (with a large or heavy package), they will help you! read more

I can feel racial discrimination in this ups store. Yesterday I stood in the line waiting for the service and there were five white people behind me. When it was my turn, I asked the staff who was a white woman for an envelope and a sticker to send a document. She found there were five white people behind me, so just left me and started to service white people behind me. I waited 20 minutes there but the staff still continued to service other white people. She never came back to explain why she left and service other people instead. I went out of the store and plan to search another UPS store, while found nearest store was 10 minutes away, so came back to the store again and stood back into the line. The only UPS store inside of Houston where they won't willingly give out Express Envelopes because "they don't keep a large stock of them." They wanted me to order free envelopes online (kind of defeats the purpose of shipping 2nd day air if you have to wait a few days for the envelopes to even arrive). Two trips here and I left without a PO box. I came in on Saturday to purchase a PO box and was told they couldn't do it on Saturday's because they were short-handed. I was going to try another location but the manager assured me that if I would wait and come back on Monday that she would have a small PO box for me as there was one that was due to be cancelled several weeks ago. She also assured me this was the best store etc etc. Another associate was helping be but she assured both of us hat it would be handled, I just had to be patient and come back Monday. I told her I would be there by 4 and both employees would be there. BTW...When I left, there were no other customers in the store but they still couldn't help me with a PO box on Saturday. I came back on Monday and was flat out told by the PO box manager that she didn't have time today so the other associate tried to upcharge me to a bigger box. I left with nothing and very frustrated by my customer experience at this store. I was told today's reason was that the store manager called in. They are very short-handed and the customer service suffers because of it read more

I dropped 5 well marked boxes off on a Friday morning at 9:30am for ground delivery to NY City on Wednesday. 4 of the 5 were taken to the central UPS warehouse (I think) on Friday evening. I had to call on Saturday to track the 5th. After a 22 minute (not exaggerating) wait on hold I was first told it was because it had not left the Houston warehouse. After saying that tracking indicated that this one box was still at the store It was confirmed that it was in fact in the back of the store. I sure hope it gets there on time, i's important to me. The guy who answered the phone was pleasant but my sense is that they are understaffed. read more

I had a great experience! I went in there to drop off a book from Amazon I had rented. All I had to do buy a box and hand them the labels with the book. They took care of the rest and they printed my confirmation there. I had never rented a book before so they made my first experience easy. The staff was friendly and efficient, I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. read more

So I go into this UPS store today to make a copy of my vehicle insurance. It is right next to my gym so I go there every once in a while. I make a single copy and since there is no way to pay by card on the machine, I walk to the register to pay. One if the women working there tells me it is 11 cents. I open my wallet to find two twenty dollar bills. She says in a very annoyed voice "just give it to us next time". I respond "no its ok I have change in my car I'll grab it" and start to walk to the front. She yells at me "dude don't forget to pay us next time!" Now I know that neither I nor anyone involved is going to remember that I owe them 11 cents, so I go to my car grab the change, walk inside and hand the lady the money. She puts her hand out looks at me and says "seriously?" What?! Yes SERIOUSLY! I'm sorry that I used your service and then proceeded to pay you the amount of money you charge for that service! I'm sorry I don't carry small amounts of change in my wallet at all times! But you don't have to be rude to me in front of a store full of people because God forbid I held up my end of our business transaction. Instead you could just say thank you. It's ok though there's a FedEx not to far away I'm sure the lost business was worth the 11 cents. read more

This store has kept my mail going to me at out of state jobs since 2003. Linda, the mail room lady is the key employee at this location. She is always pleasant, warm and caring when I contact her by phone or in person. I have used UPS Store services in other states and none compare to the service with a smile at this location. The other employees at this location are also extremely efficient, quick on the computer and very helpful carting large packages out to my car occasionally. This is a VERY busy location, so when I have to wait a bit on hold on the phone, I'm not surprised or annoyed because I have been in there when there are lines 6 deep. I've seen them quickly get everyone taken care of, so waiting is usually no longer than 3-10 minutes. This is NOT McDonalds people! Customers with a 'tude will still be served, minus the warmth, maybe. Their notary and print services are much less busy than FedEx Office, so getting a couple of pages printed by emailing them is a breeze. read more
