If I could give zero stars I would. This is such a horrible representation of a UPS store. Save yourself stress amd time, just go up to the Issaquah Highlands store, they're so helpful! I watched the gentleman, who has a ponytail, be very rude to an elderly woman, because her phone wasn't bright enough to read her Amazon code, and he refused to help her. I merely asked if I could see her phone for her, adjusted her brightness and let her go back in front of me, instead of waiting in the line of about 15 people to redo it. If they taped up everyone's packaging they would surely lose multiple dollars a day in tape. I am frustrated by lack of assistance. I was belittled to the point of embarrassment. Do not go here! I had to return some items to Amazon & it had to be via UPS. So I found this store. Siri said "do you really want to go here? It's got two stars." Well, I am adventurous so what the hey. Anyway - the store had a ton of old Amazon boxes all over the floor - but! they charged me $8.50 to put one of my items in the "correct box". Don't stop here - Horrible customer service - there is a UPS store up the road in the Issaquah highlands where people great you when you come in and ask how they can help. I went into the Gillman location and the woman behind the counter told me that I needed more tape to secure the label. I thanked her and asked if she would place a piece on it to secure and she told me that I could buy a whole role (I needed an inch or two). I asked if she would just place an inch on the package and she said, no - I can't help you. She then pointed out that there was another bar code showing and that it might be returned. There's always an issue every time I try to drop off a package for return. The employees are always so condescending and rude. They change their "policies" every other day as far as what is considered a box, what has to be taped, where a label can and cannot be, or what can be dropped off. Every single employee needs to be fired. I had recently gone to them before to do an Amazon return, and it went as smoothly as you could imagine. Unfortunately, I guess they're not really enthusiastic when it comes to taking passport photos. Or it must have been a rarity for anyone to get their photos taken there. Given how the reviews so far tag this place as terrible, I sincerely tried to give them the benefit of the doubt based solely on my previous experience. I chose poorly. Sure, the first guy I dealt with was nice enough to tell me he'd help, just as soon as they set up the booth that was off to a corner. It was a fairly small section, with photography lights placed in front. But in that very moment, there was a lady going through some recycling or trash duties, blocking the area. I told the guy I could wait (what could the harm be by waiting a few minutes? I would be patient for now), and it seemed like they'd do something to at least facilitate the request. Time passed. I waited awkwardly. Customers came and went, and I stood off to the side waiting for something to be done. The lady continued her duties, and didn't even bother to start moving anything out of the way to clear the photography area. Given how small the shop was, and how empty it was--she obviously heard the request but just went about her business like no portion of that job belonged to her. The nice guy I talked to presumably went to take his break and disappeared in the back area to look at his phone, and a third guy with a ponytail, the oldest of the three I'm sure--with a rather apathetic attitude towards everything, continued to ignore me and also go about his own business not even trying to get the booth set up. Time passed. The lady worker asked him for another 'bin', to which he obliged. He disappeared into the backroom wheeling another recycling bin out and set it down in front of the photography booth. Are you serious? As I watched him deal with other incoming customers, he shifted back and forth behind the counter, not acknowledging me or making eye contact. He still hadn't set up the booth yet. It must have felt like 15 minutes or longer. At this point, I was frustrated at how much leniency I gave them and even though I could have given the courtesy to let them know I was no longer interested, I practically walked out of there and drove to Walgreens where I got my picture taken by a teenager duo working the photo counter, had it processed within five minutes, which then allowed me to head straight to the post office to finish my task. That simple. I can't say the same for the UPS store, which is downright embarrassing. Honestly, sure the first guy was nice--but seriously guys, if you're not going to do anything, if you don't know how to do passport photos, or just don't want to, just say so and don't waste my damn time. At what point do you realize how crazy it sounds when you have grown-ass adults in The UPS store being unable to do the very things teenagers at a Walgreens can easily do in a matter of minutes? I'll even add that the place is never busy, so it shouldn't have been that hard. Walgreens was fairly busy, but business was taken care of. If you're returning stuff, sure--I guess this place is decent enough. But passport photos, they'll waste your time if you think waiting is gonna be worth it. Rude service. I'm never giving them the benefit of the doubt anymore. Unless the workers decide to be more competent at their jobs, or if that store were to receive some change-up of personnel in the future with people who actually care about customer service, I really wouldn't recommend them in any capacity. I wish Yelp would let me give this UPS store 0 (ZERO) star! I've been to this store a couple of times in the past and it's been ok. Not exceptional or anything but today was a whole different experience. I had an Amazon return and when I walked in, the lady at the counter told me to use the kiosk instead of taking care of it herself, even though there was no customer. Ummm ok.. maybe she was tired. So I walked over there and I found out later that I didn't do it right. My review is about what happened afterwards. The older Asian man (found out he's the owner by reading other reviews) at the counter pretty much chastised me for not doing it right. He had a heavy accent and I had a hard time understanding him, but his body language told me he was clearly angry with me. It was not how customers should be treated. I've never felt so humiliated. I'm all for small businesses and would like to support, but if you hate customer service, maybe operating a ups store is not for you! read more

Service agents are somewhat abrupt...the younger agent has been there for years and is quite polite.

I tried to place an online order to print a large business document of nearly 200 pages. However, there was a glitch at UPS server that there was no response from UPS to confirm my order. I decided to drive to this store in Klahanie and see if they could help. To my surprise, I was received with a great smile and a cheerful customer service attitude. The gentleman behind the counter, named Axel, took time to listen to my problem. He then did some online inquiries and reported back that he can help me to finish up my printing job!! In less than 25 minutes later, I was on my way to timely deliver my nicely printed document to my customers in Seattle!! Needless to say, Axel really displayed a very professional, cheerful, and positive attitude when serving his customers! He actually exceeded my expectations and deserved a 5-stars rating out of a possible 5-stars scale! Thanks again Axel! You not only set the standards in customer services but also saved my project!! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! This UPS owner (Asian man) is the most UNHELPFUL customer service person I have ever had the unfortunate experience of encountering. This is only my second yelp review ever because I felt others should be warned of what kind of customer service experience they will receive. I was dropping off a package and he refused to accept it saying my mailing label (which was was securely taped) was not taped ALL AROUND the border. He offered me no tape (i literally needed one inch more of tape) and said I could buy a roll of tape. His whole demeanor was angry, berating and unfriendly. I was completely shocked. A nice lady behind me took pity on me and let me have some tape (the ONE INCH of tape I needed). I am not really sure why someone who clearly despises people, has anger issues and does not want to help peope is in a customer service business. He would be better served being a correctional officer, or an IRS auditor. I wish Yelp would allow NEGATIVE stars as this is what he and his business deserves!!! read more

I walked in to do an Amazon return and she had an issue from the get go. She didn't like where I placed my sunglasses and keys on the counter she lectured me about taping a box up when it arrived to my door untaped then she made me feel rushed as I tried to get my return label from my email. It's not like i was rude when I walked in, i said hello, i had my mask on- She was clearly upset about something deeper and taking it out on me. I use this UPS store on Gilman primarily for my Amazon returns and it's close by. Today is my last day in Issaquah for a while and I needed some help with returns again. A customer service representative named Shiho helped me, my good fortune. My returns as it was required the box to be opened and split into 2 shipments. Shiho didn't even wait for me to ask and started helping me repack and get a label printed up as well. I had a lot to get done this morning and while having an Amazon curve ball thrown at me was no surprise, getting this high level of customer service this morning was! I had the most terrible experience this morning with Shiho, one of the employees working on 4/7/21 at 11:30am. I have never in my life felt more talked down to and honestly berated. Shiho would not let me get a sentence in without interjecting in the most obnoxious, arrogant tone. I was trying to return an Amazon item that I thought you just needed a QR code to return but apparently it's an item that needed to be shipped in a box. She kept randomly complicating things by barking at me that I needed to include a "battery" or "battery sticker" that came with the item (a ring doorbell)and that my brother had missed it.. turns out I DIDNT EVEN NEED ONE. When her supervisor took over, he said it was completely unneeded since the ring bell I got was not one with a power source and that I just needed to package it up with the shipping label. You guys don't get it -- 10 mins of me asking questions to make sense of what she meant and either she cut me off to rudely tell me I was doing it wrong or she pointed to some sheet saying "IT'S ALL RIGHT HERE" as if to imply I was totally dumb for not getting her. I felt so embarrassed in front of the other customers and I don't think she thought I would call her out on her rudeness but I did. Like, who OK'ed her behavior? Even her supervisor sitting right next to her was silent the whole time. He was probably mortified. Rule number one, show some courtesy and grace and simply let the customer talk without cutting her off and in the unlikely but needed event the customer feels uncomfortable and exacerbated enough to call you out on making her feel so, say sorry and don't combat her with further rudeness and lying claims that I interrupted you..? To the manager of the store Gabriel, please train your employee on some much needed customer service skills. MAN, such a bummer to my week. read more

The horrible customer service, including from the owner, absolutely infuriates me. On two separate occasions when doing Amazon returns, they give me a hard time about things like not sealing the box. Tonight, all three employees berated me like I'm ruining their day. I would have really appreciated something like "Hello, how can we help you? Oh you have a return, no problem, you just need to seal the box up. Either purchase tape or bring it back and we'd be happy to help". At no point is there anything courteous out of their mouth and it took about 5 minutes of giving me stern looks about tape policies before finally saying I could buy tape. Instead of pissing off your customers with rudeness, be nice, offer solutions. Sadly, the owner is the worst culprit as he is curt and difficult to communicate with (language wise). Good place for Amazon returns, not good for dropping off prepaid UPS shipments. Had a non-fragile electronic device (no batteries) that I had a label for, and wanted to put it in a padded envelope. The employee told me I could not put electronic devices in a padded envelope. As an ex UPS store employee of 5 years, I know that is not the case. I was told it would have to be in a box, which is more than double the price for packaging, and not worth it for the price I sold the item for. I even called my old manager and confirmed with her that it does not have to be in a box. I don't know if it's lack of training, or a scheme to get more money out of you, but I would avoid the shady practices at this UPS Store location. read more

When need to have them repack a fragile box, they gave me a quote, but them after they were ripping everything apart, added over $50 because they would be too busy to get around to packing it today. This store had a terrible rating so I wasn't excited about coming in, but the convenience of this location still enticed me into stopping in. I came to return a textbook I had rented from Amazon. The return label was only for 10lbs and I knew the textbooks inside weighed more than that. They sent it off without hassling me about the package being a pound over. The employees were super happy and helpful. They were actually training a new employee. It seemed like the manager was doing the training himself. There was no line at all and so I was in and out in a couple of minutes, with a smile I might add. It should be noted that they are doing construction in the parking lot around this store, so parking will take longer than it usually does. read more

Careful with the front door. The door to this place seems broken. It slammed shut really hard on my shoulder and arm. Now I have a very large swelling and bruise forming, but it'll probably be just fine with time. It was such a hard slam that I was cursing at the pain. The employee told me it's been like that for years and the property management company is responsible for exterior maintenance. I feel bad for folks trying to maneuver their way through that door with boxes or children. The employee was friendly and helpful, but I won't be back due to the door issue. I dropped a package off at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Feb 8. I checked the tracking status today to discover that it was not labeled and ready for UPS shipment until Monday, Feb 10, 5:00 PM. It was departure scanned in Redmond at 11 PM Monday night. What? It was in Tacoma early morning the 11th. It took 3 days to get from Issaquah to Tacoma. Really????? Pathetic. read more

This place is awful. The employees seem incompetent and apathetic. If you must use their services, I recommend you get everything documented, signed and pray for divine intervention. I asked for signature required and insurance on a package I was sending. When I asked the service person if they included the signature requirement and insurance, I was told "yes, of course". Neither was included. When I called UPS to see if they could correct things, they directed me back to the store. When I called the store to see if they could correct things, they could not. OMIGOD!!!! I got totally ripped off by this place. I mailed 4 packages on the 11th of Dec. 2 of which I had packed up, the other 2 the UPS store packed and all were being sent in the united states. The bill came to over 200.00 and one of the packages didn't get to its destination until after Christmas!!! It was supposed to arrive on the 14th. I was looking for a place to fax some documents for an application because the one at home was broken. I intended on going to the FedEx, but saw this place first. I thought the customer service worker was friendly enough, but really could have been more upfront about the ridiculous charge for the faxing service. One dollar a side is atrocious! Although he added 25% off, I was faxing a lot of pages and the price was shocking. After I clearly was disappointed with the job, he suggested to make it a PDF and send it for a more affordable option "next time." Yeah.... There won't be a next time. Maybe you should have mentioned it and the price before faxing it. read more

Worst experience. Lacks the fundamentals of customer service. I don't blame the employees but rather the owner Gabriel. On the evening of 5/5/21, I called and spoke to employee Carter. My parents, in their 80's, had a package delivered there from Comcast for their new condo that they are not moving in to until 5/17. They currently live out of state. I called to ensure I could pick up for them. Carter explained I could but my parents would need to send email authorization and scan in photo ID. My parents did that. I went in next morning 5/6 to pickup the package and was told by a different employee "we can't do that I will have to call the owner". The owner Gabriel said he would need to talk to Carter, who was not due in until later, and that I too would have to come back later. I was livid. Again I do not fault the employees. Gabriel, train your employees and hold them accountable for the information you pay them to share with customers. Do not inconvenience the customer and make them accountable for your lack of ability to train, inspire, and execute. You have no business being in a customer facing industry. You lack the natural ability and desire to reach guest satisfaction and resolution. Hold your team accountable. I feel bad for them as you clearly are a terrible person to work for. Reading the rest of these reviews there is clearly a culture issue in your business and I'm shocked UPS allows you to continue representing their brand. read more

I don't know why this UPS store has a low rating. I went in to ship a package. One employee was engaged with a couple needing a POA. Within a moment another employee came out to help me. The transaction was quick and efficient and all done with a nice attitude and a smile. What more could you want??? I will be back. read more
